gaano ka involved si Yaya kay baby?
« on: March 30, 2013, 07:32:48 am »
anong set up niyo with your baby's Yaya?

siya ba lahat kay baby (paaraw, ligo, palit diapers, etc..) or hands on parin kayo then tulong tulong lang si Yaya?

sa akin, hindi ko talaga kayang walang yaya. ang sakit sa likod magbuhat ng matagalan lalo na may mga times na fussy si baby ng matagal at ayaw magpababa. i'm also a working mom so impossible talaga na maging hands on the whole day.

but sa ligo, ako nagpapaligo pag umaga.

kaya ko magpuyat but not everyday. so pag gabi, si Yaya ang in charge kay baby.

i'm also exclusively pumping so i need someone na bantay kay baby habang nagppump ako.

kayo?

by the way, huwag natin i judge dito some moms na never pa nagpaligo, or never pa nag change ng diapers ha. may iba talaga, hindi lang hands on and that's ok! ;)

Since naka maternity leave pa ako, eto set up namin:

- baby co-sleeps with us and kami ni hubby mag aalaga the whole night then yaya will just get baby around 6 am so we can sleep more tapos siya na magpapa araw
- around 9-10 am, papaliguan ko si baby with the assistance of yaya but may times na hinahayaan ko na siya ang magpaligo so i can check if she's doing it properly kasi siya na rin naman ang gagawa nun pag bumalik na ako sa work.
- re changing of diapers, depende kung sino may hawak kay baby hehe). Good thing lang kasi si yaya naman tinitignan niya lagi if need na bang mag change kahit wala pang poops.
- pag sa hapon naman, i take a nap first tapos si yaya mag aalaga then pag gising ko i let her rest din.  Also, since my eldest is already 5 yrs. old, her yaya naman laging tumutulong sa pag alaga kay baby. :)

Ngayong back to work na ako, halos si yaya na lahat pagkaalis ko for work. normally alis ako 7:30am at uwi ng 7:30-8pm. pagkauwi ko ako na lahat kay baby. pag weekends tska holidays like ngayon, ang set up namin parang nung nakamaternity leave ako. :)

My husband and I are as hands on as we can get even if we are both working. Basta nasa house kame, kame ang nag-aasikaso like magpakain, magpaligo, magpa-sleep etc. Even when my daughter was still a newborn, ganon din. Mejo trickier lang non kase exclusively breastfed my daughter and I was very particular on how the yaya would handle the expressed BM.

My daughter is now 2.5 years old and no matter how tired we are from work, we really make it a point to attend to her needs pag nasa house kame. I get off work at 11PM and would get home around 12AM since malayo ang drive ko from BGC to Antipolo. My husband naman works early day time (6AM) so sya ang magpapaligo sa gabi and magpapatulog. Ako naman would set my alarm at 830AM so we can have breakfast together, have time to watch TV or read/play together before I exercise. Tapos non papaliguan ko na sya. Dati pinipilit ko na makapagnap sya before I leave for work pero since my daughter changed her sleeping pattern, naging stressful lang samin yung pilitan ng ganon so I've learned to let that go basta sigurado lang na may isang nap sya in a day.

I'm very thankful din na maalaga ang yaya ko, in fact my daughter is very protective of her yaya (ayaw nga nya na nauutusan ng iba ang yaya nya) so I know na maayos ang treatment nya sa anak ko. Pero syempre hinde pa din naman katulad yan ng pag-alaga namin as parents, or ng mama or sister ko. I make sure na ako nagpapaligo kase time ko yan to fully check my daughter's body kung may wound or scratches ba na hinde ko alam or what now. Syempre my husband and I are working for the most part and may mga things na hinde naman namin kagad nalalaman.

I think iba-iba naman din talaga tayong parents but it's very important that we set aside time talaga. Maswerte lang din ako kase kahit first time mom ako hinde ako masyado nahirapan sa anak ko kahit nung newborn sya dahil hinde sakitin, hinde pala-pakarga, and hinde mahirap patulugin. As in pag gusto nya mag-sleep magfi-feed lang tapos sleep na sya.

Hinde perfect pero basta mabaet and maalaga sa anak ko, more than enough na yon for me :)

I don't have a yaya as of now kasi I'm not working pa naman dilemma ko lang kasi sa yaya pag wala yung mga parents baka ikiss si baby dahil sa Tues kay baby don't get me wrong hindi ko naman sila minamata its just that for the purpose of hygiene na rin. Also I don't want anyone to be losing my baby Ok lang if kamag anak ko or ni hubby pero kung so yaya parang ayoko naman ng ganon.  It's another reason why I couldn't look for work eh I'm not comfortable with the thought na ganon lalo kung hindi kaano ano si yaya.

Hmm tough one.

Today, I would say yaya is 70% hands-on with my daughter. I work a full time job and I don't have a maid now so I do the cooking and sometimes general cleaning (or I look after my daughter and yaya cleans).

When I was on maternity leave, my daughter slept with us in our room. But once I went back to work, I had no choice but for my baby to sleep with my yaya. I was working on nightshift. However my daughter sleeps with us on weekends since I don't want her to get too used to sleeping with the yaya. Plus it gives my yaya a break too.

When I am at home, I try to give most of my time to my daughter - I play with her, change her diaper, give her baths, etc. My daughter always looks for me and when I'm up she follows me everywhere, even to the bathroom when I have to pee!

I admit, some days I don't have the patience or energy to keep up with my daughter. She is a very high maintenance baby - as a newborn she always wanted to be carried. It's hard to put her down for naps, hard to feed her, hard to dress her up (she's been screaming since she was 4 months old everytime we dress her up) so there are days where I'm happy to have the yaya take over. I remember one dayoff my yaya took where my daughter was teething, I carried her for 9 hours straight (no joke). She wouldn't let anyone else carry her - not my hubby, mom, sister, etc.

So although my yaya is not perfect and sometimes she is annoying, I am very blessed to have her. She loves my daughter like her own apo.

im so thankful sa Old yaya ko. siya nagpalaki saken for 25yrs now.

imagine maghapon nakatali ka with the baby. shempre kailangan may magbantay pag naligo or nag c.r si yaya.

good for me, my mom takes care of my baby when i am out for work. but when i get home and during weekends, ako na lahat. i take nap with him for a recharge. i was also the one who does everything during my ML and i agree, ang hirap talaga pala na full time mommy. it was even hard to take cr break kasi he nurses every 1-2hrs. i have to take a bath the shortest time possible. saludo na nga ako kay mama kasi ang taas ng energy ng baby ko.

^^sis khriseee, very similar talaga si baby j and baby h. high need baby. except that j doesn't scream much, but when he takes naps, he still likes being carried. when he was younger, he really can't be put down. i have to sway while nursing and have to be in a quite darkened room as he is very very distractible (distractible until now!). he wakes up with noise, movement etc. now naman, super likot na. when he wants something, it's quite difficult to divert his attention. kelangan maganda rin sa mata nya ang i-offer mo. i just let this stage pass :) i read somewhere that high need babies are smart. isang malaking sana. hehe.

Just like anybody else napapagod and naiinis din naman sila so yung alaga time namin with our daughter is our yaya's pahinga na din.

my yaya is (or was) very involved with my baby. i work full time kasi so i leave the house at around 630-7am and get back home at around 6 to 630pm. That's  solid 12 hours that they're together. My hubby works at night so he sleeps most of the day naman. Yaya gives the baby her bath, feeds her at mealtimes, plays with her in the afternoon. But since I breastfeed, as soon as I get home, ako na lahat gumagawa sa baby. Sometimes, I get to give her her evening bath pa when I'm home early. I also handle the baby most of the weekend and only have the yaya back me up, especially when we go out. Baby also co-sleeps with me.

Disaster lang because my yaya decided to up and leave, as in takas. Walang paalam last week. Buti i got a replacement agad but its so hard because the baby is having a hard time transitioning.

oo nga e, I noticed our babies were the most likot at the EB! At least J is a boy, kinda accepted, but H is a girl! Super hyper, likot girl! Eep! Everyone tells me that H is smart - even strangers! I am happy but it's one thing to be smart, and another thing to sit down and study!

My husband and i decided that i resign to be a fill time mom to our first child. Both kasi kami di naalagaan ng parents namin when we re little, either because of negosyo or OFW parents.

Pero since may back problem ako and im not living with my relatives we hired a househelp/yaya,

hahaha! same here. i noticed that too. i read somewhere that high need babies tend to have strong personality talaga. when i take care of J, napapagod ako hehe.. :) i followed the massage for calming baby yung milking style and it was effective to put him to sleep. i learned this when my nephew was still under therapy. seems to be effective when he is sooo likot.

yaya do everything for my baby. I trust her. I admit naman I'm a work in progress because I'm a new mom. Parang playmate lang ako ng anak ko, we play and I teach her. Okay naman ako kay yaya kasi I can see she loves my baby and sanay talaga sya sa bata, and she's not the typical yaya, I must admit she's smart and a fast learner. Minsan nakikinig sya pag tinuturuan ko si baby and she picks up especially in English.

XD

Work sched ko is 6pm - 6am..(hindi po ko security guard :) ) so when i get home, kinukuha ko na si baby from yaya. sakto yun kasi playtime ni baby. si yaya mag wash na ng bottles, mag clean ng house, mag luto ng breakfast and maligo na siya. around 8am, papaliguan ko na si baby, feed, then sleep na kami. around 2pm, ibaba ko na siya sa crib. pwede ko matulog ulit or magluto na ng dinner (aga diba? haha) tapos prepare na ko for work. before i leave for work around 5pm, pupunasan ko na si baby, change clothes and bilin na kay yaya.

halos ganto sked namin ni yaya:

6AM to 9AM: kami ni hubby ang bahala kay baby. kadalasan nauuna si baby magising sa amin. what we do is we play with him, sing him songs and even dance for him kumbaga itong oras bonding time namin. mga around 9AM I feed baby tapos he goes to sleep or minsan hindi. yaya does the laundry of our babys clothes.

10AM to 11AM: take over na si yaya kasi we'll eat breakfast tapos paliliguan na si baby. kadalasan pinapaliguan siya after na namin magbreakfast ni hubby.

11AM to 4PM: kay yaya na si baby. I'm a WAHM and hubby is taking care of their family business kaya nasa bahay lang din kami pero there are times when we have to go out. kadalasan kasi si yaya magpapainom ng milk, patulog and play with baby. kapag tulog naman na si baby she steps out of the room. my baby is 4 months na kaya every 2-3 hours he wakes up and kapag wala si yaya ako na nagpapatulog ulit sa kanya.

8-9PM: our baby boy is asleep na kaya wala na gano asikasuhin si yaya except for ironing clothes.

my biggest fear is my baby might get attached sa yaya pero after my baby turned 3 months nahalata ko every time madaming tao or bisita lagi niya kong hinahanap and he looks at me. yung tipong look ng baby ko na please don't leave me mommy tipong ganun  ;D  saka medyo nag tame na si yaya ngayon kesa dati. tinanggap ko na rin na mas madami talagang alam si yaya kesa sakin kasi I'm a first time mom and she's been a yaya for how many years. nung una suggest din si yaya what to use for baby tulad ng diapers pero pag tagal keber kung ano bibilhin namin kay baby yun pagamit mo kasi kami naman gumagastos. our yaya is in her early 40s and walang anak and single, nahalata lang namin ni hubby, si yaya kwento ng kwento sa huli niyang alaga kasi she took care of the child for 5 years.. attached si yaya sa dating alaga! tas ayun lang medyo at home na si yaya samin. madalas na mag advance ng sweldo.

I recently hired a stay out/all around helper dito sa house ng mommy ko since we live with my mom. For the past 3 weeks my mom was the one na nagaalaga kay baby at hindi niya na kinakaya, as in minsan I would go home na nagrereklamo since sobrang hyper ni baby at ang hirap patulugin dahil gusto niya magexplore ng magexplore at ayaw sa playpen. gusto niya 'baba' or 'bas' (labas) as what she often says pag nakakulong sa playpen. So I hired a stay out yaya, She usually works 12 hours lang, and more on support lang kay mommy sa pagalaga kay baby. Pero more on linis, laba, luto, and hugas ng plate. So in terms of how involved she is to my daughter, hindi masyado.

:) Mahirap pero I know it will soon pass...

Since 4yrs old na ang baby namin, minimal supervision na lang si yaya. Actually all around siya. Yaya + house chores siya. When we're at work, she bathes our son, sends/picks up my son to/fro school, feeds him, plays with him. She does her chores early in the morning before my son wakes up and during the 4hrs that my son's in school. When we get home, kami na sa baby namin. Meron kami an hour to play and read then sleep together kami.

But during my off days (2 days work then 2 days off ang sched ko), I work part time for 5 hours since nasa school naman siya but I feed, bathe, and send him to school bagoa ko pumasok sa part time job ko. 5 hours lang iyan. By the time na makauwi ako, dinner time na kami then play and read then sleep together.

On weekends where I do not have work, ako or kami ni husband lahat. The helper is off.

But the system was different nung infant pa siya until about 3yrs old si baby.

I'm still on search for a yaya.  My baby is 4 months.  When I was still on ML, it's just me and baby on the house since husband only comes home twice a month.  For now my sis-in-law is looking after baby.

Baby and I wakes up at 6 to 6:30.  I take a bath while SIL looks after baby.  After I bathe, I bath baby, fix him up, breastfeed and give to SIL again then off to work.  When I come home at night, after changing kami na ni baby until we wake up again the next day.  During Sundays and holidays, the whole day baby is with me.  SIL will do the cleaning and washing of clothes.  She understands that it's the only time that baby and I bond.  Also when husband comes home,  He does the laundry then kay baby na after.  We try to be very hands on with baby everytime we are home.  That's why, I need to bath him early for it's part of our bonding and he directly feeds on me too when we are together.
