Hi guys! Has any of your kids experience broken bone?

My 3-year old girl fell off a chair with her left arm hitting the floor first. Since then she bewails painful shoulder and almost immobile left upper torso. Her shoulder is also inclining downward. X-ray showed her clavicle(or collar bone) is dislocated and in fact the broken bone's ends are overlapping with one another(one is placed on top of the other), doctor said she needs surgery for it to be corrected, otherwise her left shoulder will stay downward and will affect her posture for the rest of her her life. Naturally, the bone will start healing but without surgical intervention, deformity is inevitable.

Has anyone of you or your kids experienced surgery? Will you advice it for my daughter who is just three? How about the surgery scar? Is it better than having an arm sloped downward? Will the result worth the pain and trouble I will subject my child to?

I will be seeing an orthopedic doctor after holy week for second opinion but I want to know first first hand experiences and insights from non-medical people. Thanks thanks.

Her grip and her arm mobility has improved (since 3 days ago when the accident happened) but her shoulder remains sloping downward. What to do?
