I have a friend who works sa Embassy of Chile.  She speaks Spanish fluently kaya plus points sa kanya iyon.  Tagal na siya doon, 5-7 years na yata and still there.  Ang alam ko maganda ang benefits nila at dollars and sweldo.  Tax-free iyon ha -- parang ADB.  So yung buong iyon eh take-home pay na niya iyon.  Mataas ang sahod nila, from what I know.

I also have a friend who retired from the US Embassy.  Matagal na siya doon.  Maganda din daw ang benefits at mataas ang sweldo.

Parang ang stiff lang din ng competition...

My ate, na-interview sa embassy of Canada, ako nagpilit sa kanya kasi alam kong carry nya dun. Nung interview, she mentioned na gusto nya ng permanent position, kaso di yata ganun sa embassy ng Canada. But still she received a call or an email yata for the next step ng interview, di na nya pinuntahan kasi nga ayaw nya ng temporary position. Ganda pa naman sana ng compensation. Btw, my ate is a PT grad, pero nag-aral sya sa UK ng business related yata.

Salary seems ok naman. Nakalagay na dyan how much per annum yung sweldo.

PERO 1 min late means u need to pay 1000 dollars
he was employed in embassy for 28 years pero hindi lang sya exclusive sa embassy
minsan pinapapunta sya sa USAID sa PNB building sa pasay
he is a graduate of education major in math minor in english from arellano university

am not sure about the $1000 - 1min. late is being imposed but basically, Honesty policy when it comes to tour of duty. And of course you have your supervisor to be held accountable that everybody reports on time.  Dami na masyado holidays that is being observed para magpa-late pa.

minsan lang sila mag open ng post, tapos expect na ang applicants ay 100x ang dami. unless, may kakilala ka.

i used to go to Embassy of Indonesia. grabe, sa sobrang dami ng applicants na nagpapasa ng resume at di pumasa, ginagawa na lang nilang scratch paper

One of my dream job is to work here, however, its true that competition is very stiff.

I have a schoolmate working in the Canadian Embassy for about 5 years now. She look so happy and contented. Like she's going to work there until retirement.

I also have a friend of friend who have worked for the British Embassy. True enough that compensation, benefits and work hours is really good. Salary is tax-free and you get greater chances of visiting the country of which embassy you are working for. This friend of friend has been in and out of UK for almost 4x a year at her own expense. (You now already have an idea how much is her salary.) Max. leave is 20 days. But as her calling, she resigned and went to convent.

First ad I have seen is at Manila Bulletin for the Japanese embassy
2nd ad I have seen is still at Manila Bulletin for the Singapore embassy
3rd ad I have seen is still at Manila Bulletin for the South Korean embassy
4th ad I have seen is on jobstreet for the British embassy

that's me love_lauren but for some reason can't log in anymore. Yes competition can be really stiff. I worked at the US embassy for 5 years and moved here in Canada for good. Salary, incentives, work hours and others are good. If you really want to work for any Embassy you have to bring up your A game. During my hiring, I only get to sit in an online English proficiency test then followed by a panel interview. That's it. Then you'll get a call from the HR about your hiring then the physical exam and security clearance (which takes forever). I suggest you apply at the lowest position and move your way up, at least you have the advantage already of being inside the institution. Take note that a lot of the positions are being offered to in-house employees first before they advertise outside. So good luck on your quest!
