 7 weeks kasi madami pa sila mga personal na inayos tsaka yung gown nung friend ko, dun pa lang siya bumili/ alter.

church wedding ba? not sure kung pwede. kasi asa Edmonton ako nung time na kausap ko yung parish priest dito sa Brandon ang sabi nya kung ikakasal ka outside your parish, kailangan ng parang letter from your parish to the parish priest kung saan nyo gusto magpakasal na parang go signal. and isa sa mga requirements na hiningi samen, bagong copy ng baptismal certificate, issued within the last 3 months at least nung time na nagpa appointment kame para submit yung requirments. yung confirmation naman, ok lang kahit d confirmed e. d pa ako confirmed and hinde naman issue yun. mas mahirap/ matagal ata ang processing nun dito kesa sa pinas.

so kung church wedding sila, kailangan nila ng letter from their parish. pero much better kung mag inquire kau sa simbahan if they're allowing it.

that's what I am not sure of. they probably want a church wedding but my brother is a divorced man so baka di pwede??? kung civil wedding siguro baka wala msyado requirements noh? I will check later the link sis jen_rose27 sent me... my brother and his gf kasi still discussing about this whole wedding but better get informations na for them para aware sila..

^sis, based on my understanding, kailangan may Decree of Invalidity yung brother mo. pwede pa naman ata sila makasal din sa simbahan pero yung brother mo cannot partake in other sacraments, like receiving the Holy Communion. sa church, papipiliin ka kung gusto mo ng may mass o wala. yung walang mass, walang communion. parang civil wedding held inside a church ang mangyayari. meron copy na binigay saken yung simbahan tungkol dito, pwede ko siya picturan if you want then send ko sayo.

mj_dolly I went home two weeks before lang and my hubby who is a foreigner, one week lang.  Since both of you are Canadian citizens, check with the Canadian embassy in Manila if you need personal appearance.  I read na mga US citizens need ng personal appearance, im not sure kung ano ang reason. My hubby's case, he is Irish, he got his certificate of legal capacity dito sa Dublin but for marriage license purposes he needed to send that certificate sa Irish embassy sa pinas and then the embassy issued another certificate of legal capacity, that was the one used sa ML application. Good thing he didn't need personal appearance, i guess some embassies require personal appearance before they issue the legal capacity to marry.

The ML processing nga is 10 days. sa case namin ready na ito kaya pwede na two weeks before lang ako umuwi.

You need to do canonical interview sa church kung saan kayo ikakasal so plan/schedule this ahead. Iba pa itong canonical interview sa pre-cana. Pre-cana most church allow naman to do it sa country of your residence.

hi mga fellow overseas bride....
ask ko lang, pano kayo nakakuha or kukuha ng marriage license?
kasi h2b and i will only be in Philippines 3 wks before the event, kasya ba yun?
hindi naman kami church wedding, it's a civil garden wedding ceremony lang so i am guessing mas konti lang requirements? pero kaya ba ng 3 wks before ng wedding saka lang kukuha ng license?

sis rhabig, sana ka dito? hehe for church wedding, better ask your church na lang tungkol sa mga requirements nila. na visit mo na ba yung thread dito about Tagaytay weddings? baka sakaling andun yung sagot sa mga tanong mo.

worried lang ako sis kung di ba gahol na so oras ang pagkuha ng ML...
actually less than 3 wks before the wedding ang dating nmin so baka kulangin sa oras kung 10 days pa bago iissue ang ML... wala bang way pra ma expedite to or kung pwde ipaapply sa kamag anak sa pinas???

yes same country... oh pwde pala yun sa embassy mag apply ng ML? thanks sis for this info.
i will ask the Philippine Embassy here... sana nga pwde dito pra di ko na to problemahin pagdting ng pinas at focus n lang sa mga suppliers 

Same country ba kayo ngayon ng H2B mo? I think you can apply for a marriage license sa embassy ng Philippines dyan, tapos valid yon sa Philippines.

ang Certificate of Freedom to Marry ay para sa mga foreigners or if you are a citizen of a different country then I think kelangan nyo na nito. Like in my case, both h2b and I are permanent residents of canada pero hindi namin kelangan ang certificate pero once na maging canadian citizen kami kelangan ata kumuha na.

Hi mga sisterets!

Since lahat po tayo is residing overseas we would be considered as a Chancery Case and we would be required to submit additional requirements to the Diocese (please check under what Diocese yung Church na pag kakasalan nyo). We need to get a clearance from them kasi.

For me and Jowaness, Our Lady of Mt Carmel fall under the Diocese of Cubao. You would need to fill out a form (you could ask your H2B or any of your relatives to do this for you) then from there they would give you the requirements, sila din ang mag papaschedule ng pre-cana and canonical interview.

Mostly yung requirements is the same as yung requirements nung Church additional lang is these two:

1. Freedom to Marry - which you could get in your parish church that you're residing in.
2. Search of No Marriage - para itong CENOMAR but you have to get it again in the country that you're residing in.

^ kagabe ko lang din nalaman yung tinatawag na "tawag." the church (yours and his parish) will announce weeks before the wedding na you're getting married na. and then if someone is tutol, they can call the church. sinabi ba sa inyo yun?

Here's timeline problem
- Wedding Banns (3 weeks) after the:
- Pre-Cana na requires:
- ML (10 days), which requires
- Legal Capacity to marry (to be scheduled in the Embassy in the Philippines) would take 2 working days, which requires:
- my Birth Certificate and CENOMAR to be legalized by DFA and this would take 5 days
