How to know if you are pregnant?
« on: March 21, 2013, 08:45:23 am »
Hi mga sis!

My fiance and I had unprotected sex last Feb. 20, 22, 23, 25, and 27 because we wanted to have a baby. I use MyMonthlyCycles.com to track my period and ovulation, and according to it, that week is my most fertile time, with 27 being the ovulation date.  I had the white discharge during that week, so I think I ovulated naman.

My cycle is usually 38-42 days. My LMP is Feb. 5 so I was supposed to have my period last Mar. 13, pero hanggang ngayon, wala pa rin akong period. I took two PT na pero they're both negative. :( I don't feel any pregnancy symptoms, except sometimes I do have headaches. Pero what's weird rin is I don't feel the usual symptoms that I feel whenever my period's near. Usually kasi, I would feel cramps pag malapit na period ko, pero ngayon, wala talaga. Although sometimes, I would feel something gushing (sorry TMI) pero pagtingin ko sa underwear ko, puro white mens. Not sure if this is a sign of a pregnancy or my period. Never naman ako nagkaka-white mens kasi pag malapit ako magkaroon so I'm hoping it's the former. Hehe.

Mga sis na mothers or pregnant, how did you know you're pregnant? :)

Sis better to consult an OB and ask her if pwede ka pa-HCG blood test (serum pregnancy). Yan ang pinaka-accurate kasi sis to determine if your pregnant or not.

sige sis. Sabi ni h2b we'll test again daw on Saturday. Pag wala pa rin akong period by the end of the month and negative pa rin ang tests, pupunta na ako sa OB. Kaso, I've never been to one before so wala akong kilala. :(

if you can wait for another week and then have a regular PT after that, i think would be enough time siguro to get a good result.

pero i understand you, maatat ka talaga to know and confirm if you are pregnant if it is a planned baby. hahaha. :)

i hope youll get a positive result.

try to visit some other threads here sis, andaming recommended na OB dito or since its initial check up lang naman you can visit the regular clinics, mga healthway ba yun.

Pregnancy test.  di naman kamahalan pag bumili at readlily available in drugstores.  kung positive then go the doctor for confirmation.

Here:

Top 10 signs of pregnancy
Last reviewed:  November 2011

If you're very tuned in to your body's rhythms, you may start to suspect you're pregnant soon after you've conceived. You may notice the signs when the fertilised egg attaches itself to the wall of your uterus (womb). This is usually within about 10 days of conception.

Or you may be unaware of any changes for weeks, only wondering if you're pregnant when you miss a period.

Here are the top 10 pregnancy signs and symptoms, starting with the very first one you might notice. You may experience all, some, or none of these early signs:

1. Sensitive nipples - prickling, tingling sensation
This can be one of the very earliest signs of pregnancy, kicking in within a week or so of conception.

You may feel a tingling sensation as pregnancy hormones increase the blood supply to your breasts, particularly around the nipples. Once your body gets used to the hormone surge, the sensation will subside.

2. Spotting and cramping
It's common to have some spotting, a slight pink or brown-coloured stain in your knickers or when you pee, as well as cramping. Spotting in very early pregnancy could be caused by the egg implanting in your uterus.

A little bleeding at around the time you'd normally expect your period may be caused by the hormones that control your periods breaking through.

3. Feeling sick and nauseous
If you're lucky you'll escape this completely. However morning sickness is a common symptom of early pregnancy. It often starts when you're four to six weeks pregnant. You may feel nauseated and queasy, or even vomit. Despite its name, morning sickness can affect you morning, noon or night.

4. Tender, swollen and sore breasts
From about six weeks pregnant, your breasts may become increasingly tender to the touch. It’s similar to how they feel before your period, only more so.

You may notice that your breasts are larger and swollen, with blue veins visible just below the skin. Tenderness and soreness tends to be most common in the first trimester, easing as pregnancy progresses.

5. Feeling very tired
Feeling fatigued? No, make that exhausted. You may find yourself diving for your bed as your body cranks up to support your baby right from the early stages of pregnancy.

Though fatigue is not a sure-fire symptom on its own, it's a common pregnancy symptom. You may find tiredness wipes you out most in the first and third trimesters.

6. Needing to pee frequently
From about six weeks pregnant, you may notice that you're going to the loo more often.

This is down to a combination of pregnancy hormones, a larger volume of blood in your system and your kidneys working extra hard. Watch out though, if you get pain or a burning sensation when you pee, it might be a urinary tract infection.

7. Darkening of your nipples
Skin changes are common during pregnancy. One of the first ones you may notice is the circle of skin round your nipples (your areolas) getting darker. This can happen from about eight weeks.

You may also find that the bumps around your nipples become more pronounced or your nipples are more erect. At this time your vulva and vagina may change to a deeper, purplish red too.

8. Altered sense of taste and cravings
You may go off some foods, but develop a craving for others. Some women report a metallic taste in their mouth, others that they can’t stand the taste of coffee, tea or a food they usually like.

It's a cliché, but food cravings or aversions sometimes can be a sign of pregnancy. If they're accompanied by some of the other symptoms on this list, start counting the days from your last period.

9. A missed period
If you're usually pretty regular and your period doesn't start on time, you'll probably take a pregnancy test before you notice any other symptoms. A missed period is one of the surest signs of pregnancy.

But if your periods are irregular or you lost track of when your next one was due, you won’t realise your period is late. In this case, tender breasts, feeling queasy and needing extra trips to the loo may be early clues that you’re pregnant.

And finally...

10. The proof: A positive home pregnancy test
Most pregnancy test kits will give you a reliable result if you wait until at least the first day of a missed period. If a blue line appears in the test window, you're probably expecting. Call your obstetrician's clinic, and find out what to expect at your first prenatal appointment

@pinkpotato: yup, sobrang nakakaatat talaga. haha. first time namin kasi ito to try talaga and medyo paranoid ako kasi dami kong naririnig na kwento about PCOS and everything. Sana talaga maging positive. Hehe.

Regarding dun sa symptoms, parang missed period lang naranasan ko. :( Pati rin siguro yung increase in peeing although I'm not sure kung dahil umiinom ako ng madami nun.

serum pregnancy test to check for the level of hCG sa blood mo. more accurate sya than urine pregnancy test na binibili sa drug stores. at saka sa earliest time possible na buntis ka malalaman thru this. sa Medicus parang P175 lang sya.

^^pareho tayo ng case sis, 9 days delayed na rin ako, talagang pinlano din namin toh, sinunod namin yung advise ni dra. na every 3 days mag love making ni hubby, then more than a month na rin akong umiinom ng folic acid at anmum. Kapag di pa rin ako dinatnan until end of this month magpepregnancy test na ako. ;) Goodluck to both of us!

As of this writing medyo masakit ang balakang ko. :-\

thanks sis! :D medyo sumasakit rin puson ko, pero di tulad ng sakit na nararamdaman ko pag malapit na ako magkaroon. Parang dull cramps siya. Hopefully, cramps ito ng pregnancy! hahaha.
