any sisses here na stone former like me?

im 28, had my first stone 2 years ago. if only nauna ako magka kidney stone bago nag buntis baka hindi na ko nang hingi ng epidural nung nag labor ako. for me, ang pain ng passing kidney stones ay worst than labor pains. sobrang sakit na nasusuka ako at pinag papawisan ng malamig.

biglaan ang sakit sa experience ko. after ko maligo, biglang sumakit tyan ko, para akong napopoop. well yun ang unang pakiramdam, tapos mabilis lang narealize ko hindi naman ako napopoop tapos sobrang sakit na ng tagiliran sa likod ko, mataas ng konti sa balakang. and maya maya naka fetal position at umiiyak na ko sa sakit. buti pa ang labor pain may pahinga yung contractions, sa kidney stones wala.

i went to the nearest ER, urinalysis, tapos di man lang ako hinawakan ng dr, UTI  daw, i can go home take oral antibiotics or they admit me and give the antibiotics intraveneously. pinili ko oral meds kasi may 1 year old baby ako sa bahay na exclusive bf kaya uwi ako.


kaso sobrang sakit parin, same night dinala ako ni hubs sa bigger hospital na malayo layo. unang ER dr, ayaw ako bigyan ng pain meds kasi ma masked daw yung symptoms kung appendix ang problema. tapos wala sonologist balik daw ako bukas para makita kung may bato. pero sure daw hindi UTI.

uwi ulit, iyak ako ng iyak sa sakit. naaawa si hubs. after 2 hours balik kami ulit hospital at pina admit ako ni hub para ma iv na yung pain meds.


next day na confirmed sa ultrasound may blockage yung urether ko. pero nirequire ako ng urologist ng ct stonogram. 10mm yung nakitang stone. i was sched for shockwave sa manila doctors.

after 2 years, 3 weeks ago, my second stone. well since my first stone, nag basa na ko ng madaming info about kidney stone, it runs in the family kasi, my fathers side. saka takot ako sa sakit at gastos. 50k kaya per session ng shockwave sa urologist ko.

so ito 3 weeks ago, habang nasa harap ng pc, sumakit yung balakang, tapos biglang sobrang sakit na. ang kinakatakutan kong pain eto nanaman..

pero nabasa ko na i should use the force of gravity. so with all my might, i stand up, ransack my drawers for that one 40mg celebrex na left over from my last stone attack, para akong addict na nag hahanap ng droga. sobrang sakit talaga kasi. nung nakita ko, ininom ko, no relief, pero go next plan. drink lots of water and jump. since nakakalambot yung sakit, ang gawa ko nakahawak ako sa wall, tapos taas ko yung heels ko parang naka tiptoe, tapos ibabagsak ko with force para mataktak ako. and then ayan na yung hilo and suka, mom gave me sa small bucket where i can puke but i remained sitting up straigth kahit gusto ko na mag fetal position sa sakit. after awhile pinilit ko ulit tumayo at itaktak. after few minutes nawala yung pain. as in from 10 to 0. isip ko baka yung celebrex na work na.

to make sure, nag jump rope ako for ten minutes. tapos nag mall. i want to stay standing and moving kasi.

then next few days, discomfort sa bladder na. pero bearable yung pain pero di nawawala. sometimes may blood yung wiwi.

last night lumabas na, 3mm sya, ang sharp ng edges.

My bf is a stone former. Na-shockwave din sya kasi nasa cm na yung laki nung isang stone. Last stone nya months ago pa. So far wala pa naman ulit. Wala naman sya ginagawa.

Nagresearch ako dati, nakakaprevent daw ng kidney stones yung pag-inom ng buko juice regularly. Or lemon juice. Pero depende kasi sa type ng kidney stone mo. Try mo ask urologist. Dalhin mo din yung stone na nailabas mo recently.

my first one were uric stones. pero sabi ng urologist possible na iba iba, pwede next time calcium churva.


as far as cure, wala daw. lemon yes. and ofcourse 3 litters of water everyday.

Its sad to hear that you are having the kidney stone and I know you have to suffer from great pain...
But don't be sad there are many methods by which it can be controlled or removed..First of all the main cause of kidney stone is drinking less amount of water the best way of removing it is to drink plenty of water,drink as much water as you can; with the help of water the stone comes out of the body with help of urine...

I hope this will help you lot and your stone will be removed soon.....

ako nabobother sa sis ko.. meron kasi sya.. kaya pala ang saket lagi ng tagiliran nya...
sabi ng doc singlaki daw ng buto ng paminta.. sana makuha sa gamot...

My mom have this. 2nd time na. Yung first time was 2010 as in parang kamukha ni sis TS bigla nalang umatake na sobrang takot ko sa nakikita kong pain sa kanya sumisigaw at umiiyak sa sakit. Mabuti nandun yung cousin ko na nurse sa bahay mas sya pa nakaassist sa mom ko sa nerbyos ko. Nalaman na bumara yung stone sa tubo ng daanan ng ihi pero sabi ng doctor mainam nga daw at least nalaman agad. Then may iba pa nakitang stone. Inisched sya ng laser. Ayun nadurog naman at nawala. Pero ngayon meron na naman daw pero mas maliit. Dinadaan sa gamot muna since di pa naman daw alisin sabi ng doctor and babalik at babalik na nga lang daw kanya maintenance sa gamot muna daw. Nasa lahi namin kasi yung 2 bro ng mom ko meron din. Kaya scared din ako lalo mahilig ako sa salty. Dinadaan ko sa madaming water at buko juice.

una muna bro ko, then sis ko now hubby...
pero worried lang ako kay hubby kasi naninilaw sya eh... may kasama daw infection...

I hope someone who tried this can share kung paano ginagawa ang procedure na to.

My Dad was diagnosed with kidney stones. Paranoid ako since last year when mom mentioned na may dugo ang ihi niya. Akala ko prostate cancer, wag naman sana. Kinuhanan ko siya ng HMO c/o my company para mura so nagpacheck up siya. At yon nga kidney stones daw. Ang problem ko ngayon ayaw niya magpatreat, akala yata operation yong shock wave.

In some cases, you need more than 1 session.

After nong procedure, may kailangan pa ba siyang inumin na gamot?

Hi Sis,

based on my experience, it is an outpatient procedure and you will stay in the hospital for 3-4 hrs lang. yung procedure sandali lang mga 30 mins lang, mas matagal pa yung aantayin mo sa doctor and anesth mo  .

1 hr before the procedure kelangan nandun na then after ng procedure siguro mga 30 mins para ma wear off yung anesthesia papauwiin na rin. for pain medication lang naman ang ibibigay pag may naramdamang pain tapos depende rin sa doctor mo kung may ibibigay siya na meds para totally mawala na yung stones. medyo maingay lang yung machine parang may pumipitik sa tagiliran mo wala naman pain. after nung opeartion tapos pag pwede ka na maglakad papuntang CR, medyo magugulat ka lang kasi may blood yung first pee mo pero di naman masakit, ang technique lang siguro take a deep breath then release tas sabay na rin pati pag pee. 

sabihin mo na lang sa dad mo mas masakit pa yung pag may bumabara sa pag ihi, kasi yun pwde laging maulit eh yung shockwave one time lang tapos na.

We've had a very bad experience with shockwave treatments for kidney stones. My grandmother has quite a number of kidney stones in both her kidneys and has initially received this treatment several times in the US... true enough, the stones do pass... however it caused one of her kidneys to fail.

We weren't sure if this was what actually killed her kidney but one of her physician's strongly feel that it is, plus it isn't precision treatment. My grandmother eventually had a surgery (here in the PH) to remove one of her kidneys. On her end, she regrets getting the shockwave treatments, she believes it did her kidney more harm than good.

I think there are other non invasive laser procedures available today, please do get a second opinion, especially kung marami, maliliit and recurring yung kidney stones.

I'll give my grandmother a call to ask about the specifics on this procedure. Good luck

In my boyfriend's case he had to be confined for a few days due to infection. Agree with the others, pain meds lang after the procedure and kung ma-determine na stone former si daddy mo, doctor might prescribe maintenance meds.

Hala Katakot naman to. I have no idea on my Dad's condition kasi nasa Baguio sila at nandito ako sa Manila. I am relying on my sis explanation. At yon nga sabi niya kidney stones based from ultrasound/labs and his doctor recommends shockwave. Pero mas pinili ng Dad ko gamot muna daw kasi takot sa operation. Ang worry ko is ang dami na niya gamot na iniinom eh di ba sa kidney pa rin ang daan nun.

Aside from shockwave, [textspeak!] pa bang ibang procedure pwedeng gawin para mawala yong Kidney stones?

Sis mommycute46, get a second opinion from another doctor/s na muna sis. Shockwave works, ang tanong lang is if it's the right course of treatment for your father's case.

Yung lola ko may kidney stones pa din dun sa naiwan niyang kidney, despite medication, pag iwas sa bawal na food and drinking buko juice daily. :/

OT ng konti, have you tried sambong tea or the Sambong tablets made by the DOH? they work wonders.

and if you can get the stones analyzed, it may help you with your diet. my friends uncle had his analyzed and they found out that his body/genetic make up can't process certain vegetables and fruits efficiently. he has been avoiding those foods and he's been doing well.
