^ Sorry, my previous message is intended for @marssie.

It's normal kung hindi same ang output ng left and right breast mo, sis. I've experienced the same thing.  Try to nurse the baby more often sa affected breast.

^^^ It could be a case of plugged ducts, sis.  Do you have fever?  If you have fever, see your OB asap.  Fever signifies that your body is fighting an infection (i.e., could be mastitis, could be another thing).

Thanks for the reply sis, wala namang fever, pero may times na parang giniginaw ako, hot compress ko nga ang area na may kumikirot, binigyan ako ng pain reliever nung OB pero natitiis ko pa naman siya kaya di ko na lang iniinom, since on/off na ang kirot.. unlike that morning na nagising ako at talagang hindi ko kinaya ang sakit.

What happened first was napansin ko  na medyo namaga yung part ng nipple ko,inbetween areola and nipple, then after two days kumirot na siya ng sobra.. Pero continuous parin ako sa pagpapalatch kay baby and hot compress.. And now pasulpot sulpot nalang ang sakit, does it mean kung nagkamastitis man ako, gumaling na?

^i experienced that too. Yung parang you're having chills. Feeling ko parang kinukuryente yung nipple and areola whenever I touch it. My OB was out of the country and couldn't consult with him. I just made sure I had plenty of rest. Practically bed rest. The only time I get up is for bathroom. I nursed constantly too. Three days later I noticed the pain was subsiding.

kasheica, we didn't give anything. Pina-latch ko lang si baby. :)

shooting starThanks..

Am 33 weeks pregnant and wants to exclusively/directly BF my baby. Been reading this thread to learn 1st-hand experiences from other BF moms..As far as my ultrasound and tests are concerned, we are leading to a normal delivery according to my OB. But at the back of my mind, am also preparing myself for a CS delivery just in case because of my chronic conditions: DM Type 2, Hypertension & Thyroid issues (multi-nodular goiter)

TO ALL CS MOMS

1.  How many hours after the operation did you wait for you to latch your baby?
2.  Was direct feeding or bottle feeding done and mom was just requested to pump BM?

THANKS FOR YOUR INPUTS

Hi sis kasheica, few weeks to go! :-) I'm a CS mom, as soon as we came back to our room and nakita namin yung sign na suckling motion ang lips ni baby latch na agad , direct feeding din kami...medyo mahirap kase i wasn't allowed to move on my sides, dapat lying flat lang on my back for 8 hours...ginawa namin nilagyan lang namin nag unan yung hinihigaan niya at nakahiga siya sa shoulder ko para maka latch ng maayos...ayun ok naman at 10 months na si baby now, direct and ebf pa din :-)

im a CS mom din. the first thing the nurses did after my baby came out was latch him to me. then a few hours after, my baby was roomed in with me and i breastfed him agad. mahirap lang gumalaw because of the stitches pero my husband helped me.

hi all! not sure if this has been addressed but what do you think of breastfeeding while pregnant? any experience with this? my OB says it's a no-no but from what i read online, it's perfectly fine. my baby is mixed formula-BM but she prefers BM. i tried weaning her off since my OB said to stop but it breaks my heart when she cries for mommy's milk  :) i'm on my 7th week of pregnancy.

^i breastfed my son throughout my pregnancy with my youngest. They're 1yr and 10mos apart. I can easily gave up breastfeeding him since he's older na but I did not. Anyway, my OB said there's nothing wrong with it since I had a healthy pregnancy. The only disadvantage was when my tummy was big already and it was hard to move and carry him. Also towards the end of pregnancy I sometimes feel a little contraction while breastfeeding. But my OB said to stop, let it subside and I can continue again once the contractions stop.

Personally, breastfeeding while pregnant is only a no-no if you have problems with your pregnancy. Otherwise, I don't think you should rob your baby of your breast milk and the unique bond you'll have while bfeeding. But then I'm not a doctor. I'm just speaking from my personal experience. Try getting a second opinion.

Gave birth in makati med last dec 10 via scheduled CS... I told my ob I want immediate latching and I i want to be awake for the operation. He agreed and said na thats what he normally does
True enough, baby was latched ariund 2-5 mins after she was pulled out of me. At first ayaw pa maglatch parang nakapatong lang lips niya sa nipple ko then after some coaxing from the nurses who were holding her over me, she finally latched!! So happy :)
Hindi kami nakapag-BF sa recovery room kasi I was so nauseated pero she was in there with me. Pagbalik sa room andun na sinbaby and BF kami the whole stay :)
It helped na my ob gave me good pain meds that didnt nterfere with BFing.

Hi Mommies! I'm 33 weeks pregnant now. Nagkaroon din ako ng GDM when I was on my 28th week. Is it ok to breastfeed my baby kahit na meron akong GDM?

Nung first few weeks of breastfeeding, nagleak ang milk ko pero once naregulate na, ok na (as long as I feed baby or pump within 4 hours). Pag lumagpas 4 hours na, saka lang naglileak uli. So I don't use breast pads na.

Nipple shield, sabi ng iba nakakahina ng supply since hindi talaga direct naglalatch sayo si baby. Not sure if it's true.

Here are my recommendations:
1. Quality pump (unless you're a SAHM who plans to direct feed)
2. Nursing bras
3. Nursing cover or nursing clothes (if you're shy to breastfeed in public; pwede naman regular shirt lang tas itaas nalang)
4. Feeding/storage bottles unless plan mo magcupfeed :)

thank you sis shooting_star! will be working after my leave so will buy a pump (thinking if spectra 3, or cimilre m1, or unimom).. sana the nipple sheild will not decrease bm supply, but you're right na hindi nga direct ang latching ni baby.. will buy pa nursing bras.. i have one cover na rin na hand me down.. got bottles too.. planning to buy tommee tippee kasi sabi yun nipple is like sa mom's nipples daw, have heard about it?

Happy Holidays!!! :D

gave birth via CS din last 17th. baby was not able to latch agad sakin pag labas niya but when he was roomed in a few hours later, nilatch nila agad sakin. but they had to bring baby back sa nicu, kasi he was not able to pee within 24hours after his birth. no choice but to give him formula para mapa wiwi siya. he stayed 5days sa nicu. i try to visit him mga 2-3x a day to breastfeed him but binibigyan din siya ng formula. ok naman latch niya sakin kahit mixed fed siya. problem ko lang is parang hindi siya nasasatisfy sa breast milk ko. pag sa formula, even before maubos yung 2oz nakakasleep siya agad. then mahaba haba din tulog niya 2-3hours. pag direct feed ko naman, minsan hours na kami naka latch parang hindi pa siya nabubusog. nakakatulog man pero mababaw. pag lapag ko lang sa crib, gigising na. kung makatulog man one hour lang. unlike pag formula tuloy tuloy talaga sleep niya. i tried hand pumping to see if enough naman milk ko, i was able to hand pumped 50ml from both my breasts. kaya kahit gusto ko talaga mag ebf, hindi ko mastop formula niya lalo na pag gabi, sobrang pagod na and wala rin akong tulog, pinapa formula ko na. anyone with same experience? TIA!
