Does anyone here use those plastic milk storage bags? I want to buy the Lansinoh bags kasi kaya lang sabi nag-lea-leak when it gets thawed. Better parin ba na sa bottle i-freeze ang bm? Laking space kasi ino-occupy pag bottle eh :p

Went to the Pedia the other day and he noticed that baby still has jaundice kaya he advised that we stop breastfeeding muna for 3days. And observe for a few days.
Ang sad ni Baby cos he was drinking milk formula and super worried kami kasi dun sa 3 days na yun 1x lang siya na poop even with glucose water. Buti nalang breastmilk na ulit kami. And baby looks happy, again. Praying that mawala na completely yung jaundice niya.

i bought mine from Babyland. Peach something yung brand. It doesnt leak naman when thwaing. Since Im quite OC the milk gets in contact with the meat, i have a drawer inside the ref reserved solely for my milk. Then I place the bags are also place inside a lock n lock container

hi mommies, need your help, i'm planning to exclusively breastfeed my baby and about to buy his things palang (i'm 32weeks now). i'm not sure whether i should buy the plastic storage bags for my breastmilk or better kung straight na sa bottle? what's the best brand ba for storage packs/bottles? tia!

^im using the avent milk storage kit and some avent classic bottles. space consuming sa freezer namin pero i think mas practical and convenient. madali kasi i-sterilize and pwedeng gawing food storage pagnagsosolids na si baby.

re plastic storage bags, ideal 'to kung maramihan iistore mo. like 2 weeks advance. ako kasi 3 days advance lang kaya ok sakin ang bottles. lastly, i have no idea if it's reusable or not. if it's reusable parang ang hirap i-sterilize, if not naman parang sayang.

but it's up to you naman sis

Sobrang worried ako mga sis... We had our pedia visit yesterday and pedia said upon weighing my baby that she's slightly below the normal weight for her age. 4 1/2 months. Ebf kami with vitamin c and iron for supplementation. Baby was 2.66kgs when she was born. Almost 6kgs palang kami kahapon. Enough naman yung milk ko. Nag li-leak pa nga ako eh. Tsaka whenever I change baby's nappy, I do check if clear ba urine nya. Clear urine means enough intake and she passes stool everyday too. Super likot at 4months. Very active social skills, ikaw ang susuko. Parang natatakot na nga ako sa kakulitan eh. What more pag toddler na. So I think, she's thriving really well.. Yun lang, below normal yung weight.. Arrgh! Nakaka-tempt mag mix feed.

^sis try to watch your diet. mix feeding doesn't mean tataba si baby, hiyangan rin.

^^try to google the growth chart for breastfed babies. Iba ang weight ranges for them compared to formula fed

Nakapagbackread naman ako pero medyo nakoconfuse pa din ako mommies I really need your help para makapagstart na ko magipon ng gamit.

So far I have the starter kit of Tommee Tippee bottles and Im planning to buy the Medela Freestyle breastpump.

Questions lang po since Im a working Mom, malapit lang naman house sa office and maluwag yung time so plan ko maguwian ng lunch.

1. Direct feeding kami ni baby sa umaga before ako pumasok and pagkauwi ko, di ba ko mauubusan ng supply sa umaga if magpump ako sa umaga din para magstock or recommended sa gabi nalang? Im planning to pump din upon lunch break Im worried baka maubusan si baby eh.

2. After I pump where can I store the milk, are these milk bottles diretso sa pump para takpan ko nalang ng sealing disc then freezer ko din ba? Di masisira yung bottles?

3. Or Ill pump then from the milk container na nakaattach sa pump transfer ko sa milk bags then freeze?

4. Upon thawing, will use bottle warmer lang, if milkbags open ko lang papuntang Tommee Tippee bottles same with the Milk Container?

5. One time use lang po ba ang milk bags?

6. Ano po need ko na starter kit in expressing milk since maghapon sa bottles si baby.

I felt guilty. Bawal pala sa mommies ang cough syrup while breastfeeding. I was worried kasi baka mahawa si baby sa ubo ko.

^stop ka kaya muna sis magpabf. o kaya try asking for medicines na pwede sa nagpapabf. kasi nung buntis pa ko nagkaubo rin ako and yung priniscribe sakin na antibiotic pwede sa buntis, baka pwede rin yun sa nagpapabf or baka meron talaga para sa nagpapabf

hi sis angel_undercover! here are my answers to your questions:
 
1. The milk inside our breasts are never truly emptied. Pag nagpump ka, marereplenish yun unti-unti. Kung magpapadede ka kay baby sa umaga before leaving for work, pwede ka magpump after kasi hindi naman usually nauubos ng babies both breasts. You need to pump every 3-4 hours para ma-maintain yung milk supply. Every two hours kung nagpapadami ka palang ng milk supply.

2 & 3. There are milk storage bottles na compatible sa pump tapos diretso seal and place in ref or freezer na. Yung regular neck bottles are compatible with medela pumps (basta hindi wide-neck bottle like avent, pwede sa medela). Yung mga storage bottles or bags na made for storing breastmilk talaga are freezer-safe. Kung gagamitin mo naman yung milk within a week, better sa ref nalang.

4. Thawing can be done using bottle warmers or pwede rin under running tap water kung nasa storage bags. Make sure lang na properly sealed para hindi pumasok yung tubig sa loob ng bag. Kami, we thaw under running water or place the bag or bottle sa bowl/mug with warm water (not boiling hot). Swirl the milk every so often para madistribute yung heat. Never thaw or warm sa microwave.

5. Yes, one time use lang ang milk bags.

6. You just need a pump and storage bottles. Milk storage bags kung kelangan mo ng space-saving solution for the freezer at marami ka nang isostore. You also need a cooler bag and ice packs/gel packs para sa pag-transport ng pumped milk from office to house. You can also do manual hand expression kung wala kang pump pero it takes practice. A big pot or sterilizer to sterilize the washable pump parts, bottles and nipples is also needed.

Back to breastfeeding. nag improve naman yung color ni baby hopefully by next week wala na talaga jaundice niya.
thank God at na sustain pa din ang milk supply ko. Ang sad ni9 baby when he was taking milk formula and he got constioated. wawa naman.

Hi sis annalyze462, Dextromethorphan cough medicine is safe for breast feeding. Nabasa ko sa kellymom. Also remember na bawal ang menthol sa breastfeeding kasi it decreases milk supply.

sis i'm also worried about the same thing. at 4mos 1 week 6.6kg lang si baby johann ko. 3.15kg siya nung pinanganak. sabi naman ni doc ok pa naman daw yung weight niya. pero feeling ko ang payat ni baby kasi na fefeel ko yung ribs niya eh. ayaw din matulog although average of 8 hrs straight tulog niya sa gabi. he's still very active though. sobrang active ayaw matulog at medyo humihina pag dede.
