^liam88: pwede naman sis sa medyo hot or warm water. basta yung lalagyan is made to withstand konting heat. like yung mga breastmilk storage bottles or bags talaga na makapal. yung ibang mommies, binibigay nila kahit medyo malamig na galing sa ref. so far wala naman akong nababalitaan na sumakit ang tummy. pero most talaga e ayaw ng kahit onting lamig lang. kasi pag galing sa breast mismo diba medyo warm yun. so kadalasan, sanay sila sa ganung temperature lalo pag new babies pa. :)

^lenjei, mga every ilang hours yung pumping mo? kasi yung breastmilk production natin follows the law of supply and demand. so pag mas madalas nauubos or nadedrain, mas madalas din sya magpoproduce (or magrerefill. hehe.). and then eventually, mas dadami yung output nya every time. pero kung mas madalang syang naeempty, may signal na masesend na less nalang yung iproduce na milk. kasi kala nung katawan natin e hindi na kelangan ng maraming milk.

ideally, ang pumping is hindi lalagpas ng every 4 hrs. every 2-3 hrs to increase supply, or every 4 hrs to maintain supply. ang gawain ko nung full-time pa ako sa office, pump kahit saan na pwede ko i-lock. pero nung nasanay na, pump nalang ako sa desk ko. may gamit lang ako na nursing cover. hehe. :)

dapat nga may lactation station sa office nyo and you are entitled to 40 mins pumping break for every 8 hrs na work. pwede mo i-demand yun sa employer or sa HR nyo. eto yung act:

http://www.bwsc.dole.gov.ph/bwscweb/files/RA%2010028%20expanded%20BF%20act.pdf

goodluck sis! :)

^sis genelnar, since two weeks nalang before you go back to work pwede ka na magstart mag-ipon ng supply. yung 0.5oz pag inipon mo, dadami din yan. :)

timingan mo lang yung sleeping pattern ni baby. pag alam mo na matagal-tagal pa sya bago gumising, pwede ka na magpump. by the time na gumizing sya, naka-refill na yung breasts mo ng milk para madede nya.

hindi mo rin naman kelangan magstock ng super dami. just enough for the day na nasa office ka. tapos pag nasa office ka, yung mapupump mo dun, yun naman ang iinumin ni baby kinabukasan pag nasa office ka na ulit. better if you can pump sa office every 2-3 hrs sa simula para mag-increase yung supply mo. kung hindi man, kahit every 4 hrs to maintain lang.

kaya mo yan, sis! slowly but surely. goodluck! :)

I want to breast feed my baby din pag labas niya on August. Do I really need to attend breastfeeding classes? I want to attend but there are certain circumstances that prevent me from doing so. Mahihirapan kaya ako if wala akong classes mapuntahan before giving birth?

Gurl you dont need special classes. The nurses provide enough info and you may also ask your pedia for some tips. I just gave birth a month ago and iv got useful info fromnd nurses and my oedia

@Teawee, although attending a breastfeeding class will greatly help you, it is not a necessity.  However, not all nurses and doctors for that matter are updated about breastfeeding practices so I suggest that you start doing your own research.  You can visit sites like kellymom.com and llli.org and buy books on breastfeeding like Best Feeding by Mary Renfrew, The Nursing Mother's Companion by Kathleen Huggins and Dr. Sears's book on Breastfeeding.  Get a pediatrician who is a breastfeeding advocate, he/she will be your best friend.  Good luck! :)

sis Teawee the sites suggested by sis marose17 are really informative. try to check din some of the vids in youtube. i never attended any of the classes din since i am not sure if there are classes here sa amin plus i also did not have means of going to class kasi naka bed rest ako when i was pregnant but my baby did latch the first time i tried to nurse. to think na 4 days ko siyang di nakita after i gave birth. just be calm and confident when the time comes am sure you will do just fine. of course i backread the whole thread din to get tips from the other mommies  ;)

tama ang mga sis natin.
if you have means to attend classes, do so.

My baby is 6wks old, and nurse everytime na gising sya, every 2-4hrs. Is it normal to pump only 3oz on one breast? He's gaining weight naman daw but i'm curious why other moms produce more than my 3oz.

mga sis, always think positive lang talaga sa breastfeeding. pero kung may aberya man, lalo na sa start, don't lose hope. maski mga second-time moms like me ay pwede parin maka-encounter ng problems during breastfeeding. ang importante lang ay itry lang natin ang best to continue breastfeeding and wag mahiyang humingi ng tulong sa iba. kaya natin to! :)

sis chico, at 6 wks i think marami na nga yung 3oz per breast mo. ang galing! iba-iba lang talaga tayo ng amount of milk na napoproduce pero in time, and the more you breastfeed, dadami pa yan. :)

Sabi naman ni pedia ok lang daw yun kasi on my baby's 1st month 1kl agad gain nya, super heavy na sya kaya i bought ringsling na to carry him, he's almost 5kls na.
Forgot to ask ob e. :)

^sis chicho, for my first baby, more than a year ako bago nagka-period ulit. yung baby ko ngayon is 10 months na and i haven't had my period yet. this lack of menstrual period is related to lactational amenorrhea. http://kellymom.com/bf/normal/fertility/
