Upon browsing the net for any EMS-related sites, I came across blogs and posts containing personal documentation of people who shopped online internationally. And I've read a lot of horror stories about the customs in the Philippines, and their seemingly exorbitant tax computation forcibly being bestowed upon consignees. I've learned that anything shipped via EMS, with Philippines being the destination, is more often than not NOT a door-to-door delivery. Instead, every parcel is being detained in the local post office.

Today I've learned that EMS isn't so bad, and that the Bureau of Customs isn't so corrupt after all. I've also learned that I need to always put my mom's name as the consignee so that we get to have bigger discounts when haggling, and the processing is faster if the recipient is a senior citizen.

Today, I've learned that if the status of a parcel sent via EMS from overseas is Retention - PHZONE, it means that it's in the nearest post office, therefore there's no need to go to EMS Pasay to pick up your parcel. Also, it will be delivered straight at your doorstep, and you'll only be charged P50. 

I've also learned that Strapya World was able to follow my instructions and grant my requests. I'll definitely order from them again!

Moreover, I have learned that I still possess a creative flair for designing. I was able to beautify my mobile phone and everyone is saying it's super pretty! 

I have learned that my mom really cares for and values our family driver (who left us this afternoon for Middle East), and despite his flaws, he was a big asset to us.
