Just got back from Paris. This week it was hot! As in walang layering grrrr. Mas amoy putok yung metro hehe.

From all the cities I visited this trip, Paris and Rome pinaka madumi. Pero of course walang tatalo sa shopping in Paris and in Florence haha!

We stayed in 10e. The first apartment we booked via Airbnb in the Victor Hugo area got flooded kasi may problem sa pump so we booked a diff apartment mga 1 week before we arrive in Paris.

Hermes was full of customers but no birkins and kellys available. Mas enjoy ako SA Celine coz it was only me that time when I shopped

I alloted more time to explore the Louvre museum. Also, did some flea market and vintage store hopping. It was fun!

For resto recommendations, I love Chez Papa for their duck confit and steak. We went there twice and all our orders turned out great. Mostly locals dun. Il Hide near Victor Hugo was great. Japanese chef but fusion of jap and french cooking naman. Chez Casimir near Gare du Nord only serves lunch. I observed and mostly locals na businessmen kumakain. Ok din dito

When we went to Versailles, I don't know any good resto so of course, we tried Mcdo for the first time in Europe and it was an excellent decision haha! Angsarap burgers nila!

Yes it safe. We used airbnb for Paris and Amsterdam. Safe naman sya during our stay. Also, get the apartments in the Passy area (that's near the Arc de Triomphe) para near the shopping in Champs de Elysees.

@mameejhy, if you can swing it definitely do a road trip! Since you have kids with you, maybe you can check out the new Le Petit Prince park at the Alsace region of France. I'm sure your kids will enjoy it.

If you do decide to do this, you can take the TGV to Strasbourg where you can rent a car. From there marami na kayo mapupuntahan. Does your hubby like cars and trains? There's a really nice car and train museum in Mulhouse (an hour from Strasbourg). I have an entry in my blog about this museum (just the car museum though, we didn't have time na to visit the nearby train museum).


@Happypreggo, apartment rental is definitely the way to go in expensive cities like Paris. Tagal ko na ni-rerecommend airbnb because we've never had problems since using it way back in 2009. You just have to know your budget first then decide on which area of Paris to stay.

Just a quick guide to the areas in Paris or what they call their arrondissements (if you've read my blog I did a quick rundown of these areas). Most of the tourist must-sees are concentrated in the inner arrondissements so expect smaller rooms at an expensive price. If you want to save money, stay in the outer arrondissements. The apartments there are more spacious and a whole lot cheaper. My personal favorite is the Montmartre area (9e and 18e). It will take you just 15 to 20 minutes by metro into the inner arrondisement.

Mamasqueak, yup les puces last Monday although mas ok daw if weekend. We went there as soon as we arrived in Paris Monday morning.

Happyprego, the apartment in Paris i want to recommend is temporarily not available kasi they're fixing the pump. The one we stayed at is really nice but i wouldn't recommend it coz walang elevator and it's in the 5th floor. I took the chance to book it kasi the first apartment we booked canceled a week before we arrive in Paris.

The deposit naman can be taken from your cc. No need for cash =)
There are lots of apartments that doesnt ask for deposit naman. You just have to be patient looking for them in airbnb

^sis, andami mapipili na apartments sa Paris good for 4 persons. Ilagay mo lang sa option mo yung number of persons/beds/rooms etc. No worries naman getting to the tourist sights since their metro system is very convenient, halos lahat ng kanto meron station. But if you insist on just walking to the tourists sights, input mo arrondissements 1-10.

Hi mga sis! Question po, mas ok ba buy nalang ng carnet kaysa bumili ng single entry journey for 2 adults for almost almost 3 days stay? If carnet for zone 1-5 na din yun? Tama ba? Thnaks

^I would suggest get the carnet of 10 tickets. It will come out cheaper than buying single tickets every journey. But if you will be traveling extensively via metro and bus for the 3 days, I would suggest get the the Paris Visite Pass. With the pass you also get discounts on some of Paris attractions not included in the Paris Museum Pass.

No need to get zones 1-5, if you will be staying in central Paris since most of the tourist sights are within zones 1-3. You can check out my blog post about getting around Paris. Just click on my signature, I can't post the link here since it is not allowed.
