mga mommies, i'm 34 weeks pregnant of a baby boy, pasuggest naman po ng pangalan na babagay sa Chreezjan, yun po sanang may meaning. TIA

^^Almost ganyan din na experience ko sis. Haha. Pero dalaga pa naman ako that time. Nauna lahat mag asawa at magka baby mga friends ko at lahat ng names na nagustuhan ko naipangalan nila sa babies nila! Although wala naman ako pinag sabihan ng names, sadyang nagkataon lang talaga.  Now we are having a baby girl, hirap na hirap ako mag isip. Si hubby is suggesting Natalia or Felicia. Anong mas ok?  Di pa ko sure kung lalagyan ko ng second name.

^hay naku sis sinabi nga ni hubby ang name idea namin sa grp chat nilang magkakapatid. Pero they're sticking with the name (at ang inlaws ko inlove na sa idea ng name nung baby nila). Part of me naiinis na na-late kami ng gender announcement. Ang daya kasi sa US 12 weeks pa lang sure na sa gender (genetic keme nila). Samantalang kami aantay pa ng CAS sa mid-August. The wait is killing me!

Hello patulong naman sa mga mommies na chinese. We want to give our baby boy a nickname na and we decided to call him Xioti (younger brother in Chinese) in utero para may recall na agad pag labas nya, madali na sya magrespond. Question how do you correctly spell it, is it XIOTI or SHOTI?

I'm currently 4months preggy and due date ko sa November 24, 2019...but nag-iisip na ko ng name for the baby....

I want another boy at gusto ko yung name na Lachlan (pronounced as Locklin) bilang second name...ang problema ko ngayon ay yung first name nya na nagstart sa letter R.

you asked for it, and to me, no.

by default, "ryle" seems to be pronounced as "kyle", unless it is supposed to be pronounced as "ry-li".
if it's just pronounced as /ryl/, Ryle Lachlan will just sound as /Ry-lock-lin/.

yes it sounds cute, only because Rufus, to me, sounds like a dog's name (familiar ka sa Maid in Manhattan na movie? yun kasi name nung dog dun. hehe). also, if not mistaken, Rufus din name nung pet na mole-rat ni Kim Possible.

Keanu rin lang, bakit di pa Keanu Reeves? or kahit Keanu Reeve?

nakaka dalawang negative opinions na ko sa mga names dito. i'd rather that you hear/know these different opinions as early as now. please my dear parents-to-be, whether first time or not, please name your kids responsibly. hindi naman kayo ang mabu-bully sa mga pangalang weird kundi mga anak niyo, at nagrereflect sa mga magulang ang mga weirdong choices ng pangalan ng mga anak niyo.

Parents can name their babies/kids anyway they like...but please take into consideration din yung future, like pag malaki na anak nyo....hindi ba mahihirapan mga classmates, teachers or ibang tao ipronounce yung name nya, or baka may tendency na mamali ang spelling, lalo na sa mga documents etc....
Lalo na sa mga not so common and very specialized spellings na names... just a word of caution lang mga sis....

Edit: and im saying this based from experience... i know someone whose name is always mispronounced lol  and the spelling isnt that confusing pa sa lagay na yun 😅

i got Rufus from the bible, one of Simon's sons who helped Jesus carrying the cross.  Well, lahat nman ng name pwede ding i-name sa dogs eh, hehe, like your name can be also.

Keanu Reeves? artistang artista haha, i am not a fan, just came up with Keanu because un [textspeak!] best combi ng names ng dad ng baby ko and mine then my name starts with K and his dad starts with R.

We live overseas kaya I prefer to stick to Filipino sounding name (so bagay lang sa surname) pero pwede common lang din in English. Yung bi-lingual sounding so hindi basta basta mamispronounce. My first born is Nicolas. I'm pregnant right now so depending on the gender, we'll name his Orlando or Miranda.

The Ryle Lachlan sounds like Kyle Maclachlan, the actor in the movie "Dune." Keannu Rufus is very showbiz naman. Meron kasing Rufus Sewell na actor din. Halatang mahilig ako sa movies.

If our 1st born is a girl, we wanted to name her Sasha but I remembered I had a colleague whose daughter is named Sasha. I asked my husband if it was okay to change the spelling so now, it will be Sascha. Sana na lang walang kaparehong famous person in our generation.

If our 1st born is a boy, we want Santi. Medyo common pero maglalagay na lang kami ng 2nd name para maiba.

I would foresee that everybody will mispronounce it at first as "sas-cha", and as for a famous person.... Sasha Grey the (former) pornstar.

sis  iceheaven31, oo nga no, magkakadikit kasi un Ryle at un Lachlan...kaya magiging one word siya at since andito tayo sa Pinas, madami mahihirapan magbigkas ng Lachlan...like sa panganay ko Reid ang first name nya, that time di pa uso si James Reid so di pa alam ng nakararami how to pronounce it....meron nurse sa ospital na ang banggit sa name nya ay Re-Id as in Re Id kaya kako Reed po, Reed po ang pronunciation....
