Active Fun vs. Fun Ranch
« on: February 13, 2013, 06:56:37 pm »
Hi!  Anybody here who has hosted parties in Fun Ranch Westgate and Active Fun BHS? My experience with the former has been satisfactory so far.  I just want a change in venue this year since 2 years na akong nagpapaparty sa Fun Ranch  :)  Your comments are much appreciated!

My kids have had parties at Fun Ranch near C-5 as well as Active Fun when it was still in fun ranch. I had a bad experience with active fun, even considering the fact that they were just newly opened there at the time. The owner refunded my money because of my complaint to the fun ranch management after the party but I will never be able to repeat that combined 1st and 7 th bday party for my kids. Active fun has since then pulled out from Active fun near c-5. Hopefully the active fun in bhs is better organized.

^^ Hi! my daughter celebrated her 1st birthday in Fun Ranch-Westgate. I'm quite satisfied naman with them, very accommodating and friendly yong staff. I love the food, specially the spaghetti, sweet kasi sya which appeals to childrens taste. Before they dont have this carousel etc stuffs pero ngayon meron na, maybe pwede din kasama sa package nila yon.

^^Can you tell us what happened? Honestly I am p**ssed with Active Fun right now because they gave my reservation to another person! This despite me calling them to pencil book and then going there in person to confirm if my booking was still standing.  They will call me "daw" today to give me another slot IF the other pencil bookings are not confirmed.

Haaay nagaalangan tuloy ako. I just want a change in venue lang kase plus the place is new.

Sis, ako ba?

Re active fun bad experience. Please be patient reading my story because it will take a while, so here goes...

This happened 6 years ago when Active Fun had just opened at Fun Ranch near C-5. I booked a party for my kids' joint 1st and 7th bdays. At the time that I booked, I believe there were only 2 party areas (one on the 1st floor and 1 on the second floor yata) so it was my understanding that we were the only event booked on the 2nd floor. I paid the downpayment BUT I didn't avail of their catering services as I had opted to have the food catered by Big Red Barn. On the day of the party, I arrived 20-30 min before the party and found that NOTHING HAD BEEN SET UP. Walang personnel ng Active Fun na nag-aasikaso, only personnel from Big Red Barn were there along with the food! Worse, I discovered that 1. they had extended the second floor, 2. there was a new bigger party area set up on the second floor right next to mine and 3. they only used a TARP to separate the 2 areas! They gave the bigger area on the second floor to this bigger party who JUST SO HAPPENED to have availed of their catering services as well. Take note, fully set up na yung area nila pero kami as in, wala talaga except for the tarp that separated our area from the other area. I got mad and the owner approached me and I told him my complaints. In fairness to him, he tried to have our area fixed, even pitching in himself. But, nagdatingan na ang ibang bisita, nagseset up pa sila. I still clearly showed that I was pissed off (who wouldn't be?? Ang aga ko kaya nagdownpayment at nag-reserve) and I overheard him say to his crew, "If she's going to be like that, JUST CANCEL HER PARTY AND GIVE BACK HER DOWNPAYMENT." Seryoso ba siya? THE PARTY WAS GOING TO START IN A FEW MINUTES NA NGA E! We continued the party in our tiny area and because only a tarp separated us from the other party, di kami magkariningan at nag-mukha kaming SQUATTER doon. I finished the party and paid them in full then I wrote a letter of complaint to Fun Ranch management. The owner of Active Fun paid me back in check. He also wrote a letter of apology na palaban pa rin (what kind of apology is that???) siguro because, my mother (who is a lawyer) was making parinig already about breach of contract and asked if they were really paying BIR/taxes, especially since he is a foreigner. He said that they were definitely paying taxes (well, does he deserve applause for dong the right thing, hello?).

So, in the end,  I did get my money back. But no matter what I do, I will never be able to repeat that joint bday party marking important milestones for my kids. I'm sure others who availed of their party services had a good experience BUT what happened to me can NOT be negated because it STILL happened. Based on  my experience, what you are experiencing with them right now is par for the course. My son's friend had his party at Active Fun in Manila ba yun, and I refused to go but I heard that it was ok. P.S. Wala nang Active Fun sa Fun Ranch near C-5 ngayon.

Sis, oo nga e. Fun Ranch (near c-5) has also deteriorated, in my opinion, compared to when it first started, sayang di nila masyadong na-maintain

We went to Active fun 2 weeks ago for a birthday party. The function room is nice and colorful, place is do-able even without the add-on balloon decors, aircon is cool, this is the function room at the top floor, I notice they have several party areas. However, i didn't like the play area, very crowded and there really was an awful smell at that time, andun lang kami sa entrance but I really can smell it. And from the outside of the play area, mejo small lang din yun space so wala talaga area to wait. It's a plus point that there is a Toy Store beside the play area.
