1. when did you start your Binyag preps?
2. is it ok to have a 2 in 1 celebration? like Christening of my baby girl and bday of my son?

^re question #2 sis, tingin ko ok lang.. depende naman din sa inyo yan saka napapansin ko marami rami na rin gumagawa nyan ngayon. actually nung 1st birthday ko, sabay na yung binyag ng brother ko hehe so uso na rin pala noon.

To all mommies po ulit - ano ba dapat damit ng baby during the ceremony? Girl kasi baby ko. May nakikita akong mahabang dress/gown tapos meron din naman na usual white dress lang. Required ba yung mahabang gown? Nung nagparegister ako sa simbahan, binigyan na kami ng puting bib/vest. Thanks ulit sa mga sasagot

^I strongly suggest you can ask the Church itself kasi ako pinag casual ko lang talaga as in Shorts na checkered kaya lang sobrang ikli then white sleeveless lang. Wala gusto ko lang maiba.  Girl rin baby ko eh! Ang sabi naman sa Church na Parish ng hubby ko, any light colors allowed, it doesn't really necessarily white although they strongly recommend the white talaga. Baka kasi depende sa Parish yan eh! It happens lang na sa amin hindi ganun ka strict.

I'm a single mom and planning isabay na rin ang binyag sa bday ng baby girl ko. Na book ko na ang photographer at inaantay ko replay ng queensland. Natawagan ko ang church and said I need to write a promisory letter. Can anyone share a sample of the letter? TIA

im planning to have the christening at Sto Domingo Church then reception / bday at their social hall..

or christening at twin hearts of jesus and mary then reception/ bday at a restaurant nearby..

i wont distribute giveaways except for ninangs and ninongs.. ill probably give them tokens.

^I had my daughter's Christening in Santo Domingo too sis.  And then went to Romulo's for Lunch.  There's three rooms upstairs for your guests that you can reserve beforehand.

@ lanie14 - i bought a piña christening gown for my firstborn son.. i wanted to have our old heirloom christening gown passed down to our children but apparently the same is nowhere to be found.

so i bought one to be used by my children. it was also used by my niece and nephew. i will be having a baby girl by June 2016 and she will use the same gown. i wanted an old school tradition for the christening so we got the long christening gown. but for the reception we changed into something more modern.

We had 50 guests and paid 30K++ 3 rooms upstairs, dami dishes na yun plus desserts and drinks.  Pero maganda yung yellow room nila, fits 20 people lang.  Mas lower ang babayaran.  And maganda service.

hyder0926, AnneMP - plan din namin ni hubby na sa sto. domingo pabinyagan si baby. dun kasi kami kinasal kaya mas magiging memorable for us kung dun sya ibaptize.

Sis AnneMP, i checked Romulo's website and tama ka, ganda nga ng rooms nila, ang elegant. tanong ko lang sis, paano food setup nung binyag ng baby mo? buffet ba or per table? saka pala sis may enough parking space ba sila? thank you!

nope sis, not buffet.  Parang order ka days before from their menu and then indicate for how many people.  Then sila na bahala on that day.  May designated waiters for each room.  And may small kitchenette sa taas kaya hindi mawawala ang mag se-serve.  Maganda service sa kanila kaya sulit na rin siya.  I don't really know how much na these days kasi yung sa amin 6 years ago pa   And I don't remember exactly what we ordered heheh!  I just remembered the cake we ordered from Dexter's that we bought to Romulo's (without corkage pa nun).

Ask them if they have buffet option kasi I don't have any idea if they have that.

3 mos going 4 mos un baby son ko we when had his Christening. pero our family tradition is at 1 month lang. but due to expenses incurred after i had emergency CS it was pushed at a later date.

Done with baby's binyag. Here are my supplier ratings, hope this helps some of you mommies.

Christ the King - 3.5/5 stars
- perfect sana if they didn't ask me (and all ninongs and ninangs) to be at the baptistry 15 minutes ahead of the actual baptism proper for an 'orientation talk.' When we got to the venue, the office admin said 'wala nang ganun. Di na po kelangan nun.' Ang labo lang. Pinapunta kami n maaga (15 mins is still 15mins!) tapos hindi naman pala kelangan. I understand they were maybe just making sure we went on time, but what a strange way to go about it. But anyway, ok pa rin because Fr was nice, and the office allowed me to submit docus a week before the event (rules said 2 weeks before event dapat). Apparently talagang hindi lang nila sinusunod mga rules nila. Lamig din ng aircon.

Passion Cooks - 5 stars
Amazing food, amazing service. I'm so so happy about the outcome. Ang sarap lahat sa menu, from the soup and salad down to the desserts. Waiters were courteous and efficient and someone was always on hand to refill my water. Hehe. These little things matter to me. Decors were also much better than I'd hoped. Will get them again for my baby's 1st birthday party.

Tazzy Cakes - 5 stars
Cat is so talented. She was able to execute my theme perfectly.  Ang ganda ng cake ng baby ko, ang sarap pa. She also did our cupcake and cake pops giveaways.  I just told her surprise me nalang basta here's our invitation and motif, bahala na sya. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. She replies fast and is easy to talk to.

Overall I'm happy with how the binyag turned out. Big sigh of relief everything turned out well.

will have our baby's christening on the 16th.  Reception will be at dad's merienda buffet which is relatively cheap at hindi pa kami mamomroblema sa menu at kung enough food ba.  we booked for 100pax assured so we can reserve a certain area. na feeling ko naman even if 80 out of 100pax lang ang dumating, sulit pa din.

big chunk of the budget are the tokens for ninongs at ninangs. i had beer mugs and champagne flutes engraved. i want them to feel special and thank you na din that they accepted na maging godparents ng anak namin.

for the rest, souvenir will be oatmeal soaps. DIY ang packaging so i ended up at less than P30ea.

I ordered cake from a friend, which actually pang picture lang talaga (lol!). it's 2-tier pero sabi ko top tier edible lang. hehe. 

Friends will also cover the event so free na yung photography part.

Ang hinahanap ko na lang ngayon balloons. i want balloons. para naman magmukang pangbata yung event. hehe
