My orthodontist is on a vacation again! I can't believe it!  I'm so pissed off and my patience is already wearing thin. One more cancellation of schedule by her and I'm sure that I'll blow up, and she isn't going to enjoy my sharp tongue! 

We were supposed to have our appointment (which was already rescheduled for the third time this month because she keeps cancelling at the very last moment) this Sunday, but when I reminded her about it, she sent me an SMS that she just left yesterday for the province and will not be back until June 6. The nerve!!! And to think we already paid her in full months ago!

MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino's letter through fax to Dan Brown’s publisher and agent regarding the diabolic portrayal of Manila in his latest novel, Inferno, describing Manila as "gates of hell"

Despite not having read the novel yet (Unfortunately, I'm still patiently waiting for the sale so I'm a bit behind the news), it's the truth anyway, so why the sudden commotion and outrage? Learn to respect Dan Brown's opinion. Everyone doesn't agree on everything anyway. And it's just a work of fiction.

In "Inferno," the fourth part in Harvard art professor Robert Langdon’s adventures, one of the characters goes through "the gates of hell" in Manila.

The description of the city is from the first-hand account of one of the fictional characters, the messianic Dr. Sienna Brooks, who works with humanitarian groups. She goes to the Philippines for a mission to supposedly feed poor fishermen and farmers in the countryside.

She expects the Philippines to be a “wonderland of geological beauty, with vibrant seabeds and dazzling plains.”

But after setting foot in Manila, Brooks gapes in "horror" as she has "never seen poverty on this scale," slamming Manila’s "six-hour traffic jams, suffocating pollution, horrifying sex trade."

I know, right? Why don't he focus on his job instead? There's still a lot of improvements to be done. As if his work is already done for him to focus on menial things. And I don't think Dan Brown gives a damn about his critics anyway. He's faced harsher critics before (i.e. the Vatican) with his more controversial novels. But did it stop him? No. Did he even bat an eyelash? No. Did it bring his downfall? Certainly not.

I don't even know what the MMDA chairman would get out of this. Does he really believe Dan Brown will give a public apology? Does he think Dan Brown's publisher will halt all publications of the book? Or does he suppose Dan Brown will rewrite the novel in the hopes of describing Manila in a better light? Now, I'm pretty certain it IS Francis Tolentino who has never been to Manila.

Instead of acting all butt-hurt about it, it should serve as an eye-opener for everyone. Let's learn from this, people.

Dito sa Pinas dapat may ini-implement na law regarding bullying eh! Honestly binabalewala kasi yan ever since pero hindi nila nalalaman na malaking problema yan. Dapat sa mga students na nambubully ang sanction sa mga yan suspended, community service as in magiging katrabaho nila mga janitor at janitress na tipong sila taga linis ng CR at gagawin nila yan for 2 months, tapos yung magulang pagbabayarin ng dobleng matrikula para madisiplina anak nila. Well sana magawan nila ng paraan pero kasi sana maisip nila na kay cyberbully or personally yan eh! mashadong sensitibong issue yan. Paano kaya makakapag aral nang husto yung anak?

Nurse admits murdering 11 in Sydney nursing home

SYDNEY (AP) — A nurse has pleaded guilty to murdering 11 elderly people by setting fire to the Sydney nursing home where he worked.

Roger Dean also pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to another eight nursing home residents injured by the blaze in 2011.

The 37-year-old registered nurse was on duty when he set the fire and later appeared on television describing his efforts to rescue trapped people at the nursing home in the suburb of Quakers Hill.

He made his pleas in New South Wales state Supreme Court on Monday. His sentencing hearing starts on Thursday. He potentially faces life imprisonment.

Police had questioned him at the home hours before the blaze over theft allegations. He has already pleaded guilty to stealing prescription drugs from the home.
