Need Help: My 1year old won't drink milk

Hi sisses,

I'm not sure if there's a thread regarding this na pero here's my problem:

My 1 year old doesn't want to drink his milk -Enfagrow A+.We thought it's because he's teething and masakit yung gums nya pag nagdridrink siya from his bottle. Pero it's not the case naman kasi he has no problem drinking  like 4 to 7 oz of water both from his bottle or cup. He's not a picky eater pero right now he doesn't want to eat. Although he'll want Yakult and fresh juices like Apple and Mango or basta anything na maasim and not sweet. We're thinking of changing his formula pero I need to reserach muna. Can you girls post here if you encounter this with your kid?

try other sources of calcium madami dyan, cheese, yogurt, etc. i've been told that milk is no longer required for babies 1yr+ dapat more on solids na sya for the source of nutrients

It happened to my son also when he turned 3. When he was still an infant kasi S3 yung milk niya. Then, we switched to Nan when he turned 1 and Nido Jr when he was 2. After nun hindi na kami nag switch ng milk and dumating sa point na ayaw na niya uminom. So we decided to switch to another brand. Nagsawa lang pala siya. We switched to Anchor 3 kasi Vanilla Flavor siya and he liked it. =)

* If you plan to switch to another milk, buy a small box muna para hindi masayang in case ayaw niya ng lasa. Or If may friend ka na may anak na same age ng anak mo e ask mo what milk yung gamit. Baka pwede ka humingi ng sample ng milk para ipa try mo muna sa anak mo. =)

Hi rsc_ricci. My daughter never liked milk. Even nung sanggol pa sya, she only drinks milk when she's asleep. that's until 1yo+. we never miss the schedule. tinatsaga talaga sis. pag tulog dede then pag nag move at parang magigising, stop. pahihimbingin ulet tulog then milk again. hahaha. hanggang sa maubos. 

note weve tried different milk brand na din nyan ha. tapos we changed the teat of her avent bottles to pigeon's pala kasi before kahit sleeping niluluwa nya with avent. sa pigeon nag milk pero basta tulog. urrrgh. complicated! 

then nung medyo malaki laki na, maybe before she turned two, we tried spoon feeding (kasi ayaw na talaga pag tulog e so pag gising na ) but its not the regular spoon. we used the Chinese soup spoon like this yun na gamit namin til now. Yes til now, kahit once na lang sya mag milk. Sometimes she drinks from a cup pero mas panatag ako if we personally feed her, siguradong ubos at mas mabilis.  and then we bring her sa park, we let her play with water, hayaan magkalat, in short aliwin para habang aliw sya subo ng subo din ng milk. salamat naman sa Diyos at effective talaga. wala naman ako reklamo, tiyaga lang ang katapat sa mga batang ispesyal

edit to add, now pa la na big baby na sya, she trades eating a full meal versus drinking milk. now kasi she drinks pag feeling namin medyo di sapat ang kinain for the day so para may support, mag milk sya. fresh milk or yung Nespray (Nido sa PH) 6oz. she would tell us she would eat more para lang di sya mag milk. feeling ko talaga since birth ayaw nya ng milk di nya lang masabi. hahaha.

Hi mga sisses, thanks for your replies. My boy drinks milk na ulit and medyo tumatakaw na naman both sa solids and milk. What happened was nagsawa na siya sa Enfagrow, (Enfa series kasi siya since 2 months) sabi ng doctor parang milk fatigue. We changed his milk to Gain+. Two days nilalasahan niya muna before niya inumin yung milk. We were able to have him drink yung remaining Enfa (which is 1Kg pa) pag tulog then pag gising siya Gain+.

hi po, i have a 10 month baby po and still full breastfeeding pa din kasi ayaw nya ng formula, na ddrink naman sya ng water sa bottle pero onti lang so tyaga tyaga nalang din na turuan sya sa glass. but she eat solid foods na kahit paunti unti.. but i want her to mix na with formula kaso ang hirap talaga huhuhu pls help!

My 7yr old son, for some reason has stopped drinking milk mga more two years na. The only time he takes in milk is when he eats cereal. Siguro mga once a week. Although he eats naman gulay and anything I serve him, I was concerned he's not getting enough nutrition din kasi aside from Vitamin C, wala talaga akong binibigay sa kanya na ibang vitamins. Nung pina try ko sya ng Aqiva na milks sa cereal nya, ayon sya na mismo ang humihingi ng glass of milk sa akin, which he hasn't done in more than a year! Ang sarap daw!

Na try niyo na mga mommies yung Aqiva sa mga kids nyo? I think what really made me try this for my kiddo is its claim na may 25 essential nutrients. Takes away the worry of me not giving him any vitamin and mineral supplement other than vitamin c.

I think it's because enfagrow is cow's milk and i read somewhwre that some babies take a while to adjust to it. Some parents fet rid of bottles na lang and give milk in a sippy cup para mas madaing uminom saka para walang bottle rot.

I believe in milk fatique on my baby. kasi napansin ko kapag nag change kami ng milk, lumalakas ang milk intake niya. enfa-pediasure-gain ganito lang ang cycle namin.

Hello pumngold! It's nice to know that we, mommies figure things out as we go along no. I think it's our  mommy-instinct.  Kami naman ng anak ko, stuck it out with Aqiva since he tasted it. So far, so good. He's really less sickly since. Lakas ng resistensya at maganda ang katawan. He's only 7, but his built is pang 10 years old na. Not the overnourished kind of build ha. Kasi matangkad narin sya for his age. I measured him last week, nasa 4'6". 4 inches shy of my height.  I think for the most part, happy naman ako sa Aqiva. Finally, he got back to drinking milk without struggle. Pero first sa cereal ko muna sya sinama. Until sya na mismo humingi ng glass of milk (on a regular basis).
