Anybody into juicing? Pwede na ba ang blender or does one really have to buy a juicer? Do you take it as your breakfast, lunch or dinner? Please share your juicing recipes. Thanks!

Hi sis, I'm into smoothie. The smoothie or vegetable shake needs a blender only. The juicing, needs an equipment just to get the juice. The juicing technique doesn't have fibers of the vegetables or fruits anymore. That is why I prefer the shake.I usually drink this once I wake up, kumbaga breakfast ko.

There are a lot of green juice/ green smoothie receipes online. If it is okay, na off the topic since juicing ito, I would like to share my vegetable shake recipe.

1 handfull of romaine lettuce
1 handful of Baguio Baby spinach
1 apple
1 banana
1/2 cup water

Bale everyday, I try to vary the fruits. Masarap sya, tska healthy, at least kung hindi man ako nakakain ng vegetables in a day, quota na ako hehe sa smoothie na to.

Result: I feel energized the whole night sa work, skin is radiant and I feel healthy.

Problem ko lang: Kale , we don't have it here sa Pinas. I tried also putting other greens  like kangkong leaves, etc.. Kung ano ano lang na greens, pag pangit lasa balik ako sa lettuce at spinach.

Hope this helps. Pero pag juicing marami sa internet sis..

^ i started juicing last month kaya lang di ko na-maintain so now i do it occasionally na lang... you'll need a juicer talaga kasi if you use the blender, it's gonna be hard to filter out the fibers/pulp so you get just the juice... i'm still in the early stage -- my tastebuds are still adjusting to the flavors -- so i don't use recipes muna...meaning i don't mix 2 or more vegetables...

so far, my favorites are cucumber juice (super refreshing esp when chilled) and carrot juice... i also like wheatgrass but i don't juice it myself - i get the powdered kind... ok to pag tinatamad nako mag-juice.... takes time to peel and slice din...

i take juice starting late afternoon to midnight (i work the nightshift) every 2hrs or so... or whenever i feel thirsty/hungry... i make a big batch of juice in one go so it's more convenient... although if you have time, best to make the juice right before consuming it para fresh talaga...

i highly recommend it

Avid juicer here... every morning I take a carrot and cucumber mix. Pine-prepare ng helper namin, part of her routine na so I never go through a day without the juice. I drink it in the morning with breakfast. We use juicer, not blender.

twice on weeknight when hubby jogs.. I make juice for my daughter, hubby and I.. using Fuji apple, pear, oranges, 2 green apples and a handful of spinach

on weekend morning naman before oatmeal (for hubby & daughter)..it's just juice for me since I drink 1 tall glass while hubby has 1 regular glass and daughter has 1/4 glass  lang..  I prepare green juice..using celery stalk, ampalaya, 2 green apples, cucumber and green pepper..

I use Hurom for all my juicing now but I wished I have the Matstone which is really better daw for veggies

I timed my juicing so everyone drinks freshly juiced fruits/veggies.. I drink mine right after juicing and skip breakfast/dinner or will have broth with veggie after.. I let daughter drink after her tummy has been rested from dinner

How does the benefit differ if you eat the fruit and vegetable as it is? Calorie wise?

^ Hi sis I still believe that Juicing probably is not any healthier than eating whole and/or  fruits and vegetables.

Juicing extracts the juice which contains most of the vitamins, minerals and plant chemicals found in the whole fruit. However, sis ang downside nito ay nawawala yung healthy fibers.  :'(

Some experts say that your body can absorb the nutrients better and it gives your digestive system a rest from working on fiber. <-- this is one is what I am after - cleansing and rest for my digestive system. Isa pa, this is also for my dad na hindi pala eat ng veggies and fruits and hindi na ganun ka ganda digestion and absorption niya so wanna try Juicing for him.

About naman sa calories and dieting:
Honestly for me - It depends! To lose weight, I still believe that you must burn more calories than you consume. Drinking juice might hinder your weight loss efforts pa nga kasi juices are high in  sugar, which makes them more caloric than whole fruits or vegetables, isa pa again Juicing takes away the fibers pa. So kung gagawin mong for dieting or weight loss ang Juicing BE SURE TO USE VEGGIES at lessen ang fruits.

So far yan palang alam ko. I still make smoothing out of my blender pa rin para kuha ko fibers naman.

I shifted my juicing protocol na. For the past week, I have been juicing 2 large apples to drink (converts to 1 glass) with my breakfast (bulla low fat yogurt).

Health benefits of APPLES: sabi nila, an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
1) Rich in soluble fiber such as pectin, which assists with the digestion of food and helps reduce cholesterol.
2) Rich in antioxidants (keeps diseases away) and a mineral called boron (keeps bones strong and healthy)
3) Contains vitamins B1, B2, and C.
4) low on the GI meaning that the sugars (sorbitol) are released slowly - helps maintain steady blood sugar level and CONTROLS HUNGER PAINS.

Hope this helps. Already on my Day 8 sa APPLE JUICE and doing great! :)

Anyone who's into juicing? I've read a lot of good benefits of juicing. It can be a meal replacement. I always loved apple, carrots, orange, and tomato mix. :)

juicing is a great way to get all the vit and mineral you will need sa fruits and veggies. mom ng bf ko does this everyday, twice a day, madami siyang hinahalo eh, mayroon, celery, malungay green apple, amapalaya etc.... di ko na maremember kung ano ano yung hinahalo niya, basta habang kinukuwento niya nandidiri ako hehe

Ito yung good news, Last year she is diagnose with breast cancer, at first kaya lang siya nag juice kasi mas magaan daw ang pakiramadam, that is her main reason, hindi dahil sa gusto niyang magpapayat ( Actually if makikita mo yung body niya, grabe ang ingit ko, mas maganda pa yung] body shape niya compare sa anak niya. and ang ganda ganda ng balat niya.)  but the best part  noong nag pa check up siya last week laking gulat na lang niya even the doctor, kasi yung ibang cancer cell nawala ( di na madetect ng computer), then yung isang pinakamalaking bukol, nag reduce ng more than half ng original ssize ( honestly di ko magets yung ibang mga sinasabi niya regaring sa cancer na yan, basta ang alam ko, she gets better since she start juicing)

by the way, I'm not saying na nakakagaling ito ng cancer ah, but i believe juicing your veggies and fruits can help, Kasi kahit papano in juicing mas maraming kang nacoconsume compare sa kinakain mo siya, especially sa veggies, but in my opinion mas maganda pa rin na kainin ang fruits mo kay sa ijuice

Can anyone share their usual recipes? :) I just bought a juicer and I want to add more variety with what I used to make before when I was still pregnant (usual milk + papaya + apple and apple + carrot combination)
