^don't use aircon and seldom use of electric fan.hahaha. seriously yan ang ginagawa namin. we live in a condo with balcony sobrang mahangin naman. dedma na lang kami sa mga kapitbahay na makikita sa labas ang a/c units. I don't think we are depriving ourselves kasi di naman kami naiinitan. seriously, we are not.

sa grocery we buy more vegetables than meat. :) usually malunggay, kangkong, talong, beans, kalabasa (mga below 20++ pesos lang sa isang kainan). minsan all day vegetables lang. healthy pa. :D

nakakatipid din ako somehow by planting my own veggies. nakaka destress na by taking care of vegetables/plants, nakakatipid pa ako.

Yes, I will start investing in FAMI next month. I've been reading a lot of threads to motivate myself when it comes to investing.  ;D

It's really nice to start early when it comes to investing especially if your a long term investor ( 5 to 10 years )

Ako I tend to tell people "try mo lang invest kahit 5k, after a month or two check mo ulit. Then ask yourself what if I invested more?"

Always remember today we have our jobs and businesses, but tomorrow we have our investments :)

We've tried planting tomatoes sa backyard, na-peste. Namatay. We've tried to plant ampalaya, na-peste ang mga prutas, namatay... :-( Hayz.. Minsan talaga risky din ang pagtatanim ng mga gulay. hehe...

Thanks for the advice sis. I'll try to invest more on a quarterly basis.  ;D

May nakakagawa ba ng 52 weekly money challenge? Ako di ko magawa kasi ikakasal ako at need mag-ipon. hehe. pero I created a table which allow us to put contribution every sweldo para ma-reach ang target namin bago ang kasal.

^ Naku sis. We also have plans of getting married. Mag save na kmi ngayon by not eating out on resto. Yan kasi malaki na kumakain ng pera namin. And we started our emergency fund first muna. Mga last year pa. Tapos now, saving up for marriage na. Sana ma abot ang quota.  ;D

we have different variable universal life insurance for our long term goals like education and retirement. At saka financial advisor kasi ako, that's why portfolio diversification is important. we used to put a lot in the bank and mutual fund, pero ngayon more na sa VUL. pag VUL kasi mapipilitan ka talaga mag ipon kasi on regular basis ang pagbayad. (if any of you here want to know more about VUL, just PM me.)

^ MissChievous and nicola_juliano, we put 50% of our money in a mutual fund before we got married. if you have more than a year pa before your event, you could also try that. :)

i practice the 6 money jars by harv eker. its similar to that of the envelope system. what i love about it is that i get to automatically save even before i have something to save up for in mind. meron kasing allotment for all possible expenses, including investments. from envelopes nagdevelop na sila into bank accounts :)

to keep my savings and investments in place in case of emergencies, i got myself life and health insurance, and emergency fund.

to contain my shopping tendencies naman, i limit myself to 20 pairs of shoes. should i want to buy a new pair, something from the old must go. it becomes harder for me to buy because may sentimental value na yung iba kong shoes plus there's no storage for excess.

when it comes to clothes, i remind myself na hindi ako celebrity. i can always repeat outfits.

ako rin, feeling ko lagi wala akong masuot pero madami naman akong damit. normal yata sa mga babae ito eh, hehe   ;D  I read an article na ang ginawa niya is binawasan niya hanger niya sa closet kaya no choice siya but to limit her clothes..

back to topic..

1. isa lang TV namin sa house ngayon, kapag per room kasi may tendency sabay sabay nakabukas.
2. naka budget lahat expenses para controlled yun labas ng pera
3. we don't watch movies that often, mabilis kasi internet namin sa bahay kasi kailangan for work. most of the time we download movies or series we watch (I know mali pero tipid talaga)

nakakahawa lang kasi yung mentality na dapat lagi new ang outfit. minsan nga pag nagulit ng damit yung mga artista pinupuna kaagad ng fashion critics. i guess i just need to be reminded that these celebrities do it out of necessity. their job requires it from them. sakin naman hindi. ako lang nagiinarte na hindi ulitin mga damit ko lalo na sa pictures. i can always get away with repeating outfits. :)

Tama! I only own like 7 pairs of shoes for the past years:
1-sandals
1-ballet flats
1-wedge
1-sneakers
1-cleats (or football shoes para sa Frisbee)
1-slippers
1-boots

Yung mga 5-inch heels ko have to go. Yung old self ko binili lang yun dahil sale. Nyak.

;D Paulit ulit lang sila. I always see to it that I'm presentable pa rin. Sa nagdadala lg naman yan. And then, I'm going to cook my own meal -- healthy foods na including fish and veggies. Fruits lg siguro mahal. When you try to save, parang na oopen yung eyes mo to other aspects of your life. You'll realize you have to keep healthy para iwas meds and hospital. You have to skip sales. And you have to thank God for continuing to bless you and you ask for strength na din on how to help other people.
