Dati i was crazy for the latest phones ng apple and samsung.. I was so naiinggit because my officemates had the latest phones, even my kuya has the latest samsung note, none of which I can afford.

I had an obsolete iphone 3gs na malapit na masira of ehich ai complaint everyday and everyday I wouldl ook at the phones i wanted to buy and be disappointed until naholdap yung jeep na sinasakyan namin last year and I lost my iphone. My copassengers lost brand new galaxies and iphone 5's.

From then on nakuntento nako sa phone na keypad pa ha.

I dont reallyt hink you have to cath up to this hype naman..

i first got my iphone 3gs 3 years back when the time wala pa masyadong hype yung mga touch screen phones. It pricey but all worth it for me kasi talagang useful much sya.

mga sis worth it ba ang iphone ? sa tingin niyo?  naiinggit kasi ako sa mga kasama ko pero I always think mas ok yung mga dual sim phones lol ..

Sis my pov on this one, why buy a new phone if your current phone can still give you your basic needs (sms, calls). If your phone cant meet your needs maybe thats the time you need to buy one. Unless sira na phone mo or marami ng topak, then maybe its time for you to buy one. But it doesnt need to be iphone. Buy a phone that can meet your needs and yung pasok sa budget mo. Remember buy something you can afford and within your budget. Yung may pera kang ready na for that and not based on what your credit card can give you... Nakakatempt lalo na if you have large credit line. But the question lies on what will be left to you and your other savings after you take off the chunk you swiped in your card after purchasing your latest gadgets? May enough pa ba na matitira sayo? Hope this helps.

eh by that time,  anung malay natin kung ano na mga bagong gadgets samantalang yung binili mo ngayon eh napaglipasan na ng panahon.  ;D

I also think that there should be a balance between saving and rewarding yourself. Dapat may short term and long term goals tayo. Short term (1-5years) i.e. a new gadget, travel etc. Tapos long term naman (5 years and up) like h&L, college ng kids, retirement, etc.

Financial literacy is not just about how much we can save, but also on how much we spend that can satisfy our needs without feeling deprived.

We should be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor without compromising our future plans.

sa manulife yung mutual fund ko sis. kapag nagusap na kayo ng agent mo, you can request for auto deduction na on a specific  date. pwede mo rin naman irequest na otc payment ka na lang or sa banks. depende na yun sa 'yo.

I reward myself din naman, ang rewards for me eh travel and gym membership. dun naman kasi ako happy.

I should have said, I dont have the luxury na magpalit palit ng gadgets  ;)yung ibang kilala ko kasi, every payday ata eh merong bago, may lumabas lang na bagong model eh bili agad.  :D

having kids gadget is a must for us :-X well, it's for keeps not unless it'll crashdown :P. for myself I have ip5 pero dati pa hindi na ako nag upgrade sa 5c and 5s and yeah! it's suits my lifestyle kasi kaya worth it naman sa akin ;)

as of today I'm trying to lessen our malling days and dine out may pinag-iipunan kasi kame, again medyo mahirap din since minsan naiinip na mga kids :-\

Hubby and I are interested in manulife may kausap narin kame we're trying to figure out our budget kung magkano ang ihuhulog.

I started tracking my budget when I was 26 yrs old. Now, I'm 33 so nagkaron na ng evolution ang budget sheet ko. Pa detail sya nang pa detail from mere income, savings and expenses, to detailed investment objectives. :)

So true, we have to save for leisure din. Pero one that we CAN afford. Baka naman mapabongga ang leisure, in the end baon naman sa utang. hehe.

My family has savings account, checking (for rentals, payments), direct savings (higher interest), stocks, mutual funds, and insurance. Don't get me wrong, diversified ang investments namin pero it's not really that much kasi we're still starting as a family. What we do is we religiously allot and deposit a portion of our income to these investments. Patience pays off in the end. :)

Like other moms here, hindi ako mahilig sa gadget. Apir tayo, nicola_juliano. It's not that I don't like technology and innovation, and it's ironic because I am a software engineer. I should appreciate technology more than anyone else. I just don't find it fascinating to spend much money and time staring at gadgets, when I could do the basic things I want with a free phone. :D

^about mutual fund in Manulife. I don't have an idea, but I have a mutual fund in Sun Life. I think both companies have good reputations. You can check the capital of the companies (or the premiums). If they have a weak capital but serving many clients, I don't think they could survive the market. Sabi nga lahat ng investment parang sugal. Even my Sun Life agent does not guarantee that I will get returns kasi the market changes. So nasa risk tolerance mo din how you would handle loss. :) Anyway, I advice you try to invest what you can risk now, and observe how your money would perform. ;) Experience is the best teacher. By the way, nalugi na ako nang malaki once, sa isang pension plan company na biglang nag advise na kunin na ang pera namin. But that didn't stop me from investing on other means. :) I just did more researches, and more keen of company profiles. I don't expect na hindi na ako malulugi ulit, but we'll never succeed if we stop trying. :)
