^^ piggy bank muna sis.

Tipid trick. Will do this again. :)

Even the tv networks picked up on the 52-week savings thing hehe. Anyone can opt for whatever amount to deposit, be it a fixed amount or iba-iba. Important thing is you have fun, you'll be able to stick to it, and that you'll have moolah at the end of the year. It's just one among numerous way to save.

I try to have fun when it comes to saving petty cash -- example, lahat ng sinusukli na brand new bills I place in an envelope. Before I know it I got a wad of sparkling crisp bills na pwedeng ilaan sa inaanak or sa mga namamasko. Or every 5th 100 peso bill i have in my wallet at the end of the day, i drop in the piggy bank (e.g.  if i have 2000 worth of 100 peso bills, 400 goes to li'l piggy). At the end of the month I got at least a little something to deposit sa banko.

^nice ideas sis!

Pinapautang namin yung money with a fixed interest rate depende sa amount. By December this year, may tig 72,000php kami plus yung profit galing sa mga umutang. Not bad at all :)

I'm not a great saver pero despite that I can control myself in spending. So discipline talaga. I think the best advice is 'kung di mo gagawin ngayon, well kelan pa?'. For me small things can add up, like starbucks, make up na bibilhin tapos isang beses lang gagamitin, and any beauty products. Investing in low quality products like shoes na mabilis maluma tapos papalitan nanaman.

^I've learned that too sis.

But here are some of the things I do to save money now.

Single din ako kaya all my sweldo usually eh sa akin lang yun. Parents are not really dependent on me.

Even if mabusisi siya magandang may budget. Na-realize ko na possible ma-save ang 70% of my income.

1. I do not drink sa Starbucks.

2. I do not buy branded items just for the sake of being seen in them. Madalang din ako bumili ng clothes. Unless the price of the branded item is justifiable sa quality nya and if i need to replace something.

3. 100 pesos a meal for lunch ay malaki na. If i know how to cook and prepare my own lunch i would have done so already. I usually keep lunches at less than 100.

4. Public transport is a must. I dont own a car.

5. I will be selling my collection this year. I have outgrown it and i need the space. Maybe save a set for sentimental purposes but that's it.

6. Sell everything of value that you done use anymore.

7. Everytime you use something try to think in frugal terms. Simple na lang eh yung mga tissue. Yung mga fastfood and sometimes restaurants, they give you a lot. Just use what you need and save the rest. Same thing goes for everything in your life.

8. Try to limit purchases. Sabi nya she only owns 3 pairs of shoes-rubber shoes, flat doll shoes and a 2 incher heel. She also doesnt buy clothes anymore unless for office.

9. Get insurance, if your company doesnt pay for health insurance then go and get some. Peace of mind.

10. Also get life insurance if you have dependents. Valuable din ito pag may mga investments ka that would be taxed with your untimely demise. Mahihirapan ang parents mo or your family to pay taxes. A simple term insurance will cover this. Cheap lang din around 6k annually.

11. Maximize the benefits of your credit card. Citibank has a maximum rebate of 1k a month for their cashback and their Ceb pac card returns 1% for everything. I only use this card for business purchases ng family ko. Since as ive said i never really buy anything now.

12. Maximize the benefits of your health card. I believe that most offer free APE and one dental cleaning. Its free so use it.

13. Buy in bulk only if you have the space and its something na hindi masisira like tissue, cotton.

14. I have a ton of facial products that ive splurged on when i was visiting someplace. These were the brands that i was using and around half price than what i normally buy them for here. Enough to last me 2 years or more. According to my bf, as long as you dont open it and keep the packaging sealed then it should stay good.

To be continued... im at the dentist waiting for my mom and we have to go. Bye girls!

Im also doing the 52 week challenge.. Im actually addicted to it dince marami ko expenses because of my dentsl problems  ::)

Actually ngsasave nako dati every payday but this is more fun since i only save what i can afford..

Ginawa ko is pay in advance kapag may malaki ako.. Ive paid up to week 15 which falls under months of march andapril.. ;)

I printed charts of 10's, 20's and 30's. Started with 30 pero kapag hindi ko na kaya like at week 34 nasa 1k na yung dapat isave per week, i'll take either week 34 ng 10's or 20's na contribution..

It's a long list, pero ito ginagawa ko.
1. Wag papaapekto sa peer pressure... -my colleagues hilig mga gimiks, lunch outs, coffees.

2. Have a budget plan and track your expenses and savings.

3. Skin care over make ups

4. Take advantage of the free trainings/seminars sa office- mejo may kamahalan kasi yung mga classes sa labas, if bond is not an issue/better kung wala, then attend na

5. Take advantage of the /drinks/water sa office. If none sa office, have a mug and bring 3-in-1.

6. Eat at home before going out and bring bottled water.

7. Most of the restos na nakainan ko, di ko nagustuhan yung food, nappreciate ko yung ambiance nung iba and the utensils- para malimit yung pakain kain sa labas, I bought a dinner ware na pang resto ang dating. Overrun siya, pero ganda eh. Nakaka enjoy pa mag set ng table.

8. Maximize the use of reward cards and credit cards -bayaran din sa oras dapat. Pag may bibilhin ako, nakikiswipe ako sa kapatid ko since I don't own a cc, ayun, naka-ilang libre na kami ng food.

Taas ng bill namin dati, fault nung antigong PC, when we changed it, laki ng savings.

10. DIY/Spa at home. I do my own pedicure, hair coloring, hair spa. Thanks to my que horror story sa parlor, natuto tuloy ako mag DIY. Kala nila regular ako nagpapasalon.

11. Buy in bulk, especially if yung store ay kailangan sadyain- save sa fare expenses /gasolina

I refuse to purchase something in its full price, except lang pag super kailangan. Pag may nagustuhan akong nasa full price, control talaga not to buy and hantayin kong magsale. Certain pieces na lang binibili ko dun. Yung iba(if needed pa to) sa surplus na at ukay for dresses.

Napaka helpful naman ng mga tips dito.

For me ang pagmanage ng money/ writing them down and doing computations is a hobby. Naeenjoy ako magdaydreaming about the travels that we are going to have as a reward once nakareach ng certain amount sa ipon, makita ang graph ng networth at magmuni muni about the story behind its ups and downs and the challenge on sticking to a budget.

Naiinis ako sa sarili ko if nadadala ako ng family pressure like having to throw a grand party for my baby kasi daw 1 year old (like duh malay ba nun), having to buy new clothes and shoes for my kids during occassions (dami naman na nilang damit bakit kailangan new) I have to buy them or else my Titas will be the one to buy kakahiya naman. So tip: Don't let your budget be affected by these kind of pressure.

Yung mga "luxury" ko like going to the spa and skincare products I always  buy them half the original price like buying in bulk and waiting for sale seasons.

I go to the flea market once a year for toys and books.

Clothes, my Tita always gives me.

Gadgets, try analog, Its more fun and meaningful like having a notebook and pen all the time for sketching, planning and jotting down ideas, a phone that can only do text and call sabi nga ni Bob Ong "Kung kailangan sa buhay ang cellphone na may camera sana patay na ko ngayon". Try sketching and capture the feeling and gesture of the moment. You don't have to be a good artist. Mas masaya promise.

Avoid the grocery and malls instead go to the supermarket. Go organic ika nga sa palengke. nakakatawad pa  :)

I don't usually go ga** over the IPhone and Samsung phablets and stuff. As long as touch screen, can call, can text, ok na ako dun.. I got my phone sa pinakamurang Sun plan 3 years ago and I just wait for the bond to expire and will get a new phone soon this coming May. No need to buy a new one. I also go for the Sun plan because of the usage at needs ko sya especially when contacting to my H2B everyday + clients.
