^ang bilis lumaki ng bata. in my opinion, mas okay sila bilhan ng medyo expensive na damit kapag nakakapag-choose na sila ano yung mga gusto nila i-suot such as favorite cartoon character sa shirts ganon, kasi by then na-appreciate na nila. kung wala pa siya sa age na iyan sis, don't feel guilty nor worry at hindi siya naiingit sa mga kapwa bata niya i'm sure instead play with him/her touch, sing, dance, read to him/her aloud etc dahil kahti hindi nila matandaan yan i'm sure may impact sa subconscious.

ok rin gamitin talaga sa mga occasions ang regalo kasi gusto yun ng nagbigay na makitang ginamit yung item. pero if you are saying she/he is small in size kaya mahirap, ipatahi mo na lang. pero again, ang bilis lumaki ng mga bata kaya huwag masyado marami.

I must confess I try not to spend too much on toys since my daughter (now 4 years old) is still at an age na mababaw lang ang kaligayahan. I try to take advantage of this stage. We do crafts (pipe cleaners) and draw. Books are good investments too, brand new or those from Book Sale pareho lang ang effect sa kanila, if they like it, they like it, at babasahin again and again. . Even party favors na anik-anik super happy na siya.

If I buy her toys these are reasonably priced but with quality rin naman so she can use them for a while.  One of my biggest purchases for her was a Fisher Price Little People I bought on sale as a Christmas gift (usually really special occasions lang din) and it's really worth it for about less than P2,000. The other expensive toys she has (Barbie, Baby Alive) were given as gifts.  I remember kasi I played with Barbies when I was about 9 or 10 na so I knew how to take care of toys already. So at 3-4 years old, most of her Barbies are super gnarled at tangled na ang buhok.  So the lesson is if you buy toys yung dapat okay lang sa yo na mishandle or I-abuse ng bata.

We don't frequent Toy Kingdom because I think exaggerated price nila. I go to the other lesser known toy stores like Toy Town (they have sale items almost all year round), Wonder Works (dami nila nice toys!) where the items on sale are usually nice and reasonably priced.  I also buy online where you can find good deals on other imported toys.  I am leaning towards wooden toys para matibay-tibay.

And I guess your best ally is your kid dapat. We instill in our kid that she does not need a lot of toys since our family (with another baby on the way) will need other stuff too. (Culprit yang Nick Jr. at Disney channels puro toys ang TV commercials! So lahat ng toys na nakikita gusto ipabili!) And I already started on teaching her concepts of cheap/expensive and needs/wants. Basta expensive and classified as want, we don't buy it.

Last point sisses, I involve my daughter in sorting toys for donation so she will learn not to be attached to material things (Yes Mommy, okay to give/donate this and that.) and that others have less so she should learn how to share.  Her school invites some orphan kids from Children's Joy Foundation to perform during the school Christmas party so I guess it helped that she can visualize that she will share her toys/clothes with these kids.

Although it's true sarap mag-shop for toys and kids clothes.  I am still thinking if I should buy my daughter a wooden dollhouse.

I'll share later my thoughts on kids clothes/shoes too.

i have 2 kids and nagbabayad po ako sa nag aalaga monthly
then every day expenses.. my salary is only on a minimum wage
then nag rent lang kami ng house and now im starting to pay for the
downpayment sa kukunin kong house... and im a single mom..

^  Anong klase pong advice ang gusto mong malaman from us?

Marami kang titipirin lalo pa at may babayaran kang house and you have two kids. You need to track everything from monthly expenses, home expenses, school expenses, rent and etc. You also need a record to keep track of your savings. Sa schooling ng two kids, it will be best you do recycle para makatipid. Sa house naman, tipid sa paggamit ng kuryente, water consumption, laundry, dishwashing, shampoo and etc.  Dapat may goal ka in a certain week na ganitong amount lang magagamit mo or magagastos mo. This is a lot of budgeting sis para at the same time mabayaran mo monthly yung house na kukunin mo at dapat hindi ka magskip sa pagbayad nito. Also take note na kapag nabayaran mo na lahat monthly, may gagastusin ka ulet nyan para sa titulo at other fees nila. As much as possible, hwag uutang, mas mahihirapan ka sa pagbubudget nyan.  God bless po sa pagbudgeting.

so inspiring this thread..

ok naman yung sweldo, pero si hubby hindi kalakihan. and we do the envelope thing without the envelope lang..hehe..basta nakahiwalay na sya per gastos. ako expenses ko every month is giving allowance sa mommy ko, grocery, cellphone bill, pambili ng ulam for the 4 weeks, budget for our baby (diaper & water), personal loan so almost 15k lahat yun a month. the rest napupunta sa saving. 30% of my salary goes to our savings. yun lang yung savings namin kasi si husband wala na ssave. he pays house rental (we live with my in-laws, si in-laws ang may sagot sa electric bill), parking, and dsl. kung tutuusin dapat hindi na namin nagagalaw yung savings kaso madalas nagagalaw namin.. mahilig kaming lumabas at kumain..

just today, i started riding PNR going to work instead of riding FX. that saves me 45 pesos a day. way to go for savings..

Sa pagbawas ko pa lang ng pag-inom ng cocacola, ang laki na ng natipid ko. ^_^

- hangga't maaari I do my own mani-pedi.
- pag aalis kami ng bahay, may baon akong water at biscuits para sa daughter ko. Halimbawa, pupunta kami sa mall or papasyal, may dala kong sariling tubig nya. Usually mahal yung bottled water sa mga pasyalan. Mas matipid, hindi pa ko mahihirapan hanapin yun brand na pwede inumin ng anak ko.
- Ako ang tutor ng anak ko. (Buti nalang madali pa math nya sa ngayon, lol)
- chinecheck ko lagi yung school supplies ng anak ko, para kung ano lang yung kulang, yun lang yung bibilihin ko or dadagdagan ko. Same din sa iba pang supplies sa house.
- every month, itinatabi ko na agad yung savings namin. INCOME-SAVINGS=EXPENSES
- I dont have a credit card. And I make sure hubby pays the full amount pag gamit nya credit card nya.
- WAG SOBRA Magtipid. Sobra as in yung wala na sa tama. Wag magpapagutom, wag bibili ng mura pero talo sa quality, etc. kung hindi, lalo tayo magagastusan.

Not sure if there are books out there na nagtuturo sa pagbubudget. Pero I think meron, di lang nahahalungkat sa National Bookstore. Hahaha!

Mga books ni Colayco din although di ko pa nabasa but I think maganda to, may nakilala ako sa kabilang thread na from being tricycle driver he is now building his millions slowly, member sya sa coop ni Colayco.

I suggest also to read the Richest Man in Babylon, pd mong hanapin sa youtube yan and may audio din.

Hi mga sis...How about if for baby items? nagtitipid rin ba kayo? minsan kase yung mga toys nakakaengganyo bilhin.

lately, i changed diapers from branded ones to not so branded..i find one in shopwise P105 for 20pcs (5.25each) for daily use. for night time, i stick with branded para ok pa din ang tulog nya which cost me 11.25/diaper if i buy it in bulk.

^recently, I too discovered yung brand na Lampein, P96 lang sya for 15pcs (XL). Yung youngest ko kasi na 3 years old still wears diaper at night tsaka pag magpoop, so far hiyang naman sya and walang leaks Switched talaga ako

Isa pang tip, make use of your network, like meron kang kakilala na nagwowork sa isang optical shop and you need eyeglass, ask if pwede ka pabili sa kanya kasi usually yung mga employees have discounts di ba?  and so on Hehe
