Envelope works for me sa credit card. I always make sure to put the money sa envelope once nagkaskas ako. Really helpful.

Hey mga sis, any tips for summer? It's summer season na and we feel it already. Ang inet!!! :-) Any tips sa summer like to save up sa electricity and alike? Eto kasi napapansin ko, every time na umiinit ang panahon, tumataas din ang kuryente. I'm sure ganun din kayo.

i thnk i should do this. sa lahat ng gastos from grocery hanggang sa load dapat may envelope kai sa bahay. kaso im htinking si hubby baka mangupit lang yon lalo na ng pangyosi niya na barya-barya. 

pero sige try ko pa rin. para naman hindi ako mahirapan sa pag budget.

sobrang tipid talaga ako at kuripot.  ano man sobra sa baon ko daily, iniiwan ko sa envelope.  at the end of the week, i ask my kids to put that money to their piggy bank (which is actually a dragon canister)

it's a way to teach the kids to save those 5pesos and 10pesos coins... para piso lang ang alam nilang hingiin, kasi pagkain ng dragon ang 5 at 10 na coins

^It's a good lesson to teach the kids.  It's not how big/small you have, what matters is the firm commitment to save.  A daily savings of P5.00 is so much bigger than what a P10,000.00 will earn in a year from an ordinary savings account.  So who's smarter di ba?

I am almost 6 months pregnant (2nd baby, and another girl). I sorted my eldest daughter's baby stuff and it's a relief that I don't have to shop so much stuff for her.  I keep reminding myself that if I didn't need a particular item for my eldest and survived without it, then I will not buy it for the coming baby.   The money saved can be used to buy consumables lik diaper, etc.  Or even save it up for her.

^ tama yung save mo yung clothes ng baby mo. kasi pwede p[a gamitin if nagkababy ka ulit or nagkababy yung sister mo or pinsan. since mabilis lumaki ang mga bata.

-- save save save ulit goal namin ngayon, last year was tough though, hindi kami masyado nakapagsave plus naubos din yung savings namin kasi nga tumulong kami when my MIL passed away.

since spender si hubby, more on ma-taxi to and from work. plus we always eat outside like once a week and deliveries (which is kinda hard to let go din kasi  minsan parang hindi kami lalabas pero we have to at least treat ourselves--well babawasan na lang)

instead of always watching movie sa movie house. download na lang or wait for a dvd copy. then munch with chips or pizza delivery -- tipid na sa movie tickets..sa fare/gas, sa dine out and sa stuff na bibilhin unnecessary naman.

si hubby, natuto na now kasi pinakita ko yung nasave up ko  last year with the pagtitipid na ginawa ko. so nagcocommute na siya to and from work. so from 300 a day for the cab, less than a hundred na lang sa commute plus nakakapaglakad pa siya , may exercise na.

i do the envelope thingy and super effective talaga.
we did not eat out for the month of January. we had 1 pizza delivery lang and that's it. laking tipid din talaga.

-- saving up 1k per month pa din for Christmas 2013. para hindi mabawasan yung 13th month pay. by december may 12k na, for gifts, handa and kung ano pa.

-- still saving 10 pesos per day from my allowance. what i do now since kelangan ko yung tig 5 or 10 pesos, i marked my 2013 datebook(small calendar/note per day) for the days na nahulugan ko na . so buo buo yung nilalagay ko like 100 or 50.

-- i always have 5 or 10 peso coins sa purse ko kasi nag FFX lang ako pag papasok. pag 20 peso bill kasi bayad hindi na binibigay yung sukli, kasi dapat 15 pesos lang pasahe e. pag pauwi, instead of FX, jeep lang ako tipid na din sa 5 pesos yun. malamig naman na sa gabi e. siyempre extra careful lang sa sasakyang jeep.

^pd din sis luto ka your own popcorn when you're watching movies at home and nabasa ko somewhere na healthier option daw ang popcorn kesa chips, malaki din matitipid mo and you can make your popcorn base sa panlasa mo.

^ naku sis wala pa ako microwave oven..haha..yung chips naman namin e yung nova, piattos pero tama na yung dalawa lang since hindi ko naman pinapakain yung anak ko, so ayoko naman na nakikita niya na kumakain kami. (sorry OT).

-- ay ito pa pala..isa sa save tip. if pwede ka magcharge sa office, you can charge your phone once in a while sa office na din.

-- always have your aircon cleaned after 3-4 months, mas matipid sa kuryente din.

^in my case pan and takip lang kailangan, melt the butter inside the pan, pour in the cernel, cover and wait until the corn pop. Anyways, di nman din gaanong mahal yung chips sa'tin dito kasi almost 10x kaya laking saving pagpopcorn.

For the past 3 years, I never buy clothes, shoes and bags on their regular price, always pag SALE na no matter how much I like the item. This happened when I discovered about online shopping which made me realize that most items in the mall are "overpriced"

last year I done savings 10 pesos per day kaya last December I have money to buy christmas gift and pambigay sa kids na nangangarolling. What I'm doing right now I increase every month my daily savings (cross finger) hopefully ma staright ko till Dec 2013, I starter 20/day for January and now for Feb 30/day and add to this saving tips ko is pag my extra inaadvance ko na like now i saved the whole month for Feb and Mar, kc medyo mabigat pero i think worth it naman in the end nagcompute ako at Dec may 2++++ na ako.

what i will start today is P20/day savigns. yan lang muna since this month lang ako maguumpisa. hopefully matapos ko until christmas at pupunuan ko rin yong mga dapat na savigns ko since january.

Subscribing to this thread. Sobrang magastos din ako. I need to save asap. I purchased two techies last year at ngayon sobrang kayod ako to pay for them! lol

naisip ko. this is what i will do para makatipd:

 sa office, dalhin ko lang ang saktong pera pangkain/merienda/pamasahe. yong pangkain mga bread lang at kung ano pang mangangata while at the office kasi balak ko rin magbaon na lang para malaking pagtitipid.

sa house, i will do the envelope thingy. para ma-track ko rin ang gastos and ma-minimize ang mga unwanted/unplanned expenses.

kinausap ko na rin si hubby tungkol sa pagtitipid mission ko. agreee naman siya pero hindi sa pagtitipid sa food. aminado ako magastos talaga kami sa food. we spend P350 for lunch and dinner pa lang yan. to think  na kaming dalawa lang ha wala pa kaming anak.im still looking for ways on how to lower our food costs.

sa mga gamit sa house, hindi lang basta turn off the gamit. dapat totally unplug sila.

balak ko to lower our monthly expenses to P15k per month. sana magawa ko/namin.

sis ako nga 30 na this year, wala rin akong ipon,as in! nakakahiya man aminin. pero at least, im aware now na kailangan ko/namin talaga ng savings. last year was a tough year for me and hubby, so nadala na kami. ngayon, super pagtitipid talaga ang gagawin ko.

^pareho tayo sis, last year medyo gipit din kami ni hubby kaya sabi namin this year will be different. Ayaw na namin maulit. Matagal ko na ginagamit yung envelope system, I stopped nung naging housewife ako kasi yung sweldo ni hubby sobrang kulang kaya di ako nakakapagtabi ng savings kasi magugutom kami. Fact:  Dell costs only half of what Downy costs, if you buy their biggest pack (1L++)

Sa SM less than 200pesos ang Dell while Downy costs almost 300pesos.  Dell smells so much better than Downy.

That's about 100pesos that you save right there.

^sis we tried dell kasi free sa biniling zonrox ng mom ko. mabango nga at mura!eto na pinapabili nya sakin pag nag grocery ako.

Put it where no one can touch it para hindi mabawasan. Ako sa glove compartment ng car nakalagay para hindi ko maiwanan at hindi galawin ng ibang tao. Baka mabawasan pa e.

Dati nung hindi ko pa siya ginagawa wala talagang natitira sakin. Ubos lagi pera ko. But nung nag start ako gumawa ng budget list na realize ko na 50% lang pala ang talagang expenses ko and 50% ang pwede ko ma save monthly. It's really an eye opener for me. And it feels really good knowing na nag grow ang savings.

for some  reasons, i missed this post. oo nga naisip ko rin na isama ang yosi sa budget. pero parang at the back of my mind eh, parang mas malaki pa gastos ko in the long run pag nagkasakit siya.

kaya ngayon, sige isasama ko, pero konti konti i-encourage siya na tigilan na ang yosi. wala naman kasing magandang madudulot yon. and ang bahp pa.(sorry sa mga smokers ha?)
