hi all. hindi pa ako naka-try bumili ng crystals, so noob ako as in

one time napadaan kami ni hubby sa isang stand at meron bracelet dun na i found attractive, tigers eye pala yun. that time kasi sabi nung seller around 1K isang bracelet. ano ba ang going rate ng real tigers eye? o baka naman its common lang o hindi masyado fine-fake at ok na yung price na yun?

i've browsed through the first part of this thread and i got little info on rose quartz. anyone here who knows where i could get an authentic rose quartz in pendant form and preferably has a phoenix element to it? i have browsed in ebay and found rose quartz pendants w/ silver dragon phoenix enclosing it but i'm not sure if they're authentic. they come from either hk or china and it's very cheap like around 200 pesos only. if i could find a similar item here in the philippines and i'm sure of its authenticity then i can maybe check it out myself. sorry, i know little about crystals. thanks for any help you can offer!

Hi mga sis I need your help lalo na sa mga expert sa jewels here.

I want to buy a sapphire gem, saan kaya makakabili ng authentic sapphire gem? Yung may physical shop sana.

I found one sa Sulit.com, pupuntahan ko sana kanina kaso ayaw naman makimeet, or magpa-visit sa house. 3k / small piece of gem. 7k - 18k kapag pendant. Kaso nung tinanong ko kung matingkad ang blue, hindi daw --- light lang. May light blue sapphire ba?

Deep blue lang kasi alam ko, compared ko lang sa ternong alahas ng mama ko, I don't know kung may light blue ba. Ayaw ko naman mag spend ng almost 20k sa hindi naman authentic kasi sayang naman pinaghirapan ko na money.

There is no authentic untreated  blue sapphire that will cost you less than 20thou, IMO.
White sapphire, meron -- used as a substitute to diamonds.

Topaz is the cheapest semi-precious gem.
It is now laser-treated to appear as any color -- aquamarine, blue sapphire, tourmalines of different colors, etc etc
Only a gemologist can tell you what a gem is nowadays & if color-enhanced/not --  because they use high-powered microscopes to see the crystal formations within.  Kung baga may DNA blueprint ang dog, iba ang sa chonggo. Something like that.

I really started getting into crystals last month and I made my first purchase of an amethyst pendant sa oriental treasure sa sm centerpoint the store was not a kiosk as in store talaga siya with glass windows and all so medyo nakampante ako the pendant was 900 pero I got it for 700 and sinuot ko na sia after the singing bowl and on my way home nafeel ko bigla sumakit ulo ko for about 30min to an hour until I got home tapos nakatulog ako saglit.

also mga two weeks ago I bought citrine mantra bracelets for 1200 sa rob galeria originally 1500 yun
gusto ko kase yung mantra sa bracelet since I saw our Site manager sa office wearing red beads w mantra whilst in a meeting.
naniniwala din  ba kayo nga sis sa mantra?
Its suppose to be a prayer to ward of evil doers and protection na din

Pero eto ang weird ulit mga sis
while wearing my new mantra citrine bracelet pauwi sumakit nanaman ulo ko
and yung sakit nia is yung parang may nililift sa ulo ko or brain ko
in both cases parang ganon ko madedescribe yung sakit ng ulo.

Hi all, first post here. Napa-register ako kasi super interested rin ako sa crystals, and I'd like to share my dilemma:

Well, I have a jade bangle "permanently" set on my wrist; funny enough I bought them for less than 3k via Multiply/eBay (after I bought from her, tumaas to 9-10k ang price nya LOL). Gusto ko sana ipa-test sa isang gemologist kaso baka they need me to take the bangle off. I tested it by hitting it with another jade piece and I heard it with a bell-like "ting!" and it was really cold to the touch and icy naman yung appearance nya. Mabigat talaga yung bangle pero nang tumagal it felt light na (or nasanay lang ako?)

Would you give me some gemologists in the country na pwede kong pagtest-an for authenticity (and grading) while wearing it? I tried removing it but to no avail eh. Kelangan ko yata pumayat hahaha. Or maybe outside the country if I had the chance... TIA

-Ah yes, re: Sapphires, I saw some in Baguio some months ago. And yes, I saw a LOT of gems in Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh; may certificates pa ang iba and the minimum price for a fire opal was approx 50 USD. I wonder kung authentic nga sila. =/

corals sis yung galing under the sea? anong klaseng coral ba? nung nagsnorkling kami sa batangas nagpakuha kami dun sa mamang bangkero ng corals for free. but we gave 100 tip for him.

mga sis ano bang crystals ang masuggest nyo for year of the sheep? yung pang charisma and relationship, for opportunities, pangontra ng mga masasamang balak sayo and badluck.. etc..

Yes sis yung red color na coral..yung pinapasuot sa mga babies..although adults can wear them as well..for protection daw yun.ako naman parang gandang ganda lang ako sa color niya kaya i want it.tska yun nga parang di ba dati pa siya ginagamit so i guess effective sya..mahal nga lang mga depende sa quality and grams minsan..i heard meron up to 28k ang price

I was never a believer but then na dala narin ako kay MIL who strongly believes in the good effect certain stones and crystals can do for our body.  I am currently using Tourmaline and I have never been this positive in my life. Almost the 3rd week now and yung pains ko (lower back due to pro longed sitting) totally nawala on the 3rd day palang.  I just has my period and in 6 years ngayon lang ako hindi nag karon ng cramps. True hindi biro mag invest sa mga to but it is worth every penny!

Authentic untreated corals are really a dirty  beige or black.  There is angel skin coral which is a non-uniform off white to the lightest of orange. Pricey but really nice, that last one.

The best source, IMO is your trusted jeweler, stores of certified reliable repute, and old relatives. 
The corals to search for are the big (at least as big as your thumbnail) carved coral pieces (antique) that show fine craftsmanship. Have these reset or converted into cuffs or neck pieces.
But for babies --  get small beads of the angel skin coral, or the red ones if you favor such.

I am blessed to have a good friend who gifts me with crystal bracelets.
I wore them on my left wrist and effective nga.
I always wear my black tourmaline and the clear crystal.

7thou? Hmmm,Obelisk lowered  na its prices? Ask Nancy, the girl there --  authentic ba ito or reconstituted corals? She will tell ou if you ask.

Personally, I would go for a CITRINE before a coral whatever.

PS:  IMO, you get better protection from purple amethyst, bronzite, black tourmaline,  onyx ...
IMO, corals offer gentler protection --  kaya ok for babies.

saw green tourmaline bracelet. 18k.. pero ang ganda. when i tried it on sakto pa sa wrist ko. netetemp akong balikan. and may isang blue tourmaline bracelet 35k nabenta na daw.. got curious kasi hindi pa ako nakakakita ng blue tourmaline.

Except for black tourmaline, colored tourmalines are clear -- you see through it like you would good quality topaz or sapphires.  The low -quality tourmalines contain cracks/nimperfections -- pero clear pa rin.

Be careful, know  your seller well.

Someone offered me a peridot as big as my thumb recently.  O tama my suspicion -- when I showed it to a gemologist --  it was irradiated/ colored topaz, not peridot.  (I always have a gemologist check first, , before I pay up pag duda ako.)
