ky_file and akireyhoj - could you refer me to your orthos? i would like to get ceramic braces as well and 60k sounds like a good deal.

i went to a nearby ortho clinic today and was told their ceramic braces cost 120k (including tmj splint). this will be my third set of braces unfortunately - so tired with metal teeth

Anyone knows kung gano katagal usually ang treatment pag self-ligating braces and pag lingual? I'm torn between lingual and self-ligating braces, parang ang ganda din kasi ng lingual dahil hindi kita yung braces pag nag smile..

Hi sis superpinya,  for me it would be better if you check out first the clinic, and kung nasa range ba ng ibang clinic yung rate ng treatment na gagawin..Baka naman sobrang laki ng difference (ang layo ng pagkamura)  fr. Other clinics, you will really think twice.

ako kakapaadjust ko lang kagabi... tanggal ang lock at isang brackets ko ;-( mga 5 months na ata kasi ako di na nakabalik e.. busy naman kasi sobra eh. tapos night shift pa ako... anyway, malapit nang matapos din to... at sabi ko lagi na ako ngaun magpapa adjust hehe.. gusto ko nang matanggal e..

@minalucy-sam situation here, third time ko na papabrace because of my tmj caused by my previous dentist. makes me so angray talaga. I'm dome with my splint, i'm on my way to phase two which is braces..spent a good 30k on my first phase including the xrays and adjustments.

Son't know yet how much their ceramic beaces cost but I hope they give me a good price.

mga sis.. have you noticed any changes on your facial features while on braces?
like prominent yung mouth, longer face, higher cheeks or lubog na pisngi?

Sure ...where is your loc. sis? The clinic is in Alabang, Las Pinas and Q.C.

hmm...ang napansin ko lang nag-iba yung smile or cheeks ko siguro kasi naiba na position ng ngipin. parang nape-frame or align din yung face sa position ng ngipin. sa explanation ng dentista kosa akin noon, kung binunutan ako at ipu-push/pull yung ngipin koo paloob, so lulubog yung cheeks at aangat yung nose bridge so parang tatangos ka. depende sa face/bone structure siguro yung pagiiba ng features sa paggalaw ng ngipin.

btw, naka power chains na ako sa taas. masakit lang first few days pero tolerable naman.

how about brushing your teeth twice a day and floss? super hassle ba gawin ang daily routine na toh if youre wearing braces? Im torn between ceramic and the normal one. Ayko kasi ng nakaka prominent ng jaw and mouth tapos ayoko din naman yung stain factor ng ceramic

sa ceramics usually pag kumakain ako ng may kulay, toothbrush ako agad or kahit gargle with water. hindi ako nag fo floss kasi nahihirapan ako usually toothpick lang ako

At first medyo maninibago ka, you really have to make sure that your teeth are clean so brush talaga, either ceramic or metal braces, you dont want naman na when you smile there are food stuck on your braces..
There are rubbers naman na parang brackets lang so its not that colorful but if you really want it not to be visible ceramic nlng..

normal, metal brackets meron ako. i brush my teeth at least twice a day and i floss every night. tsinatyaga ko ilusot yung floss infront of a mirror. sa office lang, minsan nakakamumog lang ako. not sure about ceramics pero sa normal, kung medyo dark colors naman yung elastics, hindi masyado halata kung mag stain. nakapag try ako ng white, cream. yellow. ayun...naging medyo brown sila after a month. coffee and tea drinker kasi ako. ngayon naka white ako kaso kumain ako ng kalabasang may luyang dilaw,ayun, light yellow na yung elastics ko. haha! okay lang naman...maputi naman yung ngpin ko kaysa elastics.

ang nabalitaan ko lang sa ceramics noon e nababasag? totoo ba yun? anyway, may maliliit na brackets din, baka ma-consider mo kung aya mo nang masyadong mabakal.

Mga sis na may metal braces, pang ilang month bago kayo nag power chain?

Regarding sa changes, medyo di ko trip yung sa akin, parang tumaba yung cheeks ko naman. Pero sana sa umpisa lang.

yun nga din ayoko na magiging prominent lalo yung cheeks and jaw mo kaya lang i think in time iisipin mo bumalik na sa dati kasi nasanay kana

i prefer metal over ceramic brackets. I had ceramic brackets for a time, mga 2 or 3 months ata, super tangalin talaga tapos ang bagal ng movement ng teeth ko so mas mahaba yung treatment. Kaya pinapalitan ko ng metal.

Had I known ceramics would be like that on me sana ng self ligating nalang ako.
