Me too, I waited for the US FED meeting before putting any positions in the stock market. The no taper was good for my passive investments (my MFs and UITFs), but not so much for my portfolio -- I missed the boat on that one. But oh well, marami pa naman ibang catalysts, including the debt ceiling.

There's lots and lots of articles about mutual funds in the net sis.
You can go to forums like this if you have questions about a specific
fund in the Phil pero if you want to know about mutual funds in general,
google mo lang

And just under the description it states:

At any rate, you can always invest in the UITF version of their
index fund.. didn't the person from BPI offer it?

Sa mga may FAMI, ilang days bago ma-credit yung top up nyo? Gusto ko sana mag-try sa FAMI if okay na yung system nila. I'm not that updated na ngayon, pero noon kelangan pang i-follow up yung agent para sa top-up. Ganito pa rin ba ngayon? Or na-cover na tong issue sa online facility nila? Tia!

^^^ sis, hindi naka specify sa homepage nila, but it's stated sa page ng mutual fund mismo. Check mo lang yung page from time to time para naman hindi ma-sayang oras at effort mo sa pagpunta sa bank.

May concern po ako regarding mutual fund, what will happen to the account po ba kapag namatay yung owner. May declare beneficiary rin ba ito? I know too young to think about that but of course gusto ko lang din na ready and mapapakinabangan yung money di ba. Thanks po sa makakasagot.

yes meron...your beneficiary has to pay the estate tax before he/she can claim it

Hi mga sis! I have a couple of questions, I'm not sure if these have been answered na before.

Sa FAMI, doe they allow partial redemption of mutual fund shares? For example, if I have 10,000 shares and just want to redeem/withdraw 5,000, pwede ba yun?

If pwede, how can I compute for the gain/profit for my mutual fund after partial redemption? I know that to compute for the current value of my fund (before redeeming anything), it's number of shares x current NAVPS. Then to compute the gain/profit, it's current fund value - principal investment. But if I redeem part of my shares, how do I determine na the gain/profit?

after mag backread ng napaka haba, I finally decided to invest in FAMI last Oct. 31 thru Metrobank, then kanina lang naka receive na ako ng COR ko, feeling ko mabilis lang kung thru Metrobank especially if me account ka sa branch at within Metro lang

Subscribing! Will definitely backread this thread further. I am planning to invest extra funds in MF. I was choosing between BDO and Sunlife, but would definitely check out FAMI. Keep on sharing guys!

After a lot of blog hopping and reading around, i will most likely invest in a BDO Balanced Fund. Reading up on cost averaging as well and will make small additions on my initial investment over a year.

A lot of the articles/blogs also advised that we need to know what our end objective be. I'm planning to invest on balanced funds for around 6-7 years, in time for my son's high school tuition.
