Just curious , what's the difference of investing through an online broker like citisec and investing through uitfs??

citisec = you buy stocks directly
uitf/mf = pooled fund, meaning you pool your money
together with other people's money and the uitf/mf's
fund manager buys stocks(using brokers like citisec)
on your behalf. (Or bonds, etc.. they're not limited
to stocks)

nakita ko sa list of billers ng Unionbank to: 'First Metro-Balanced Fund Inc' same lang ba ito sa First Metro Save and Learn Balanced Fund? Kasi na-omit yung Save and Learn eh.

kung same lang, ienrol ko ng auto-debit ang account ko para di na ko mahirapan pa magpunta sa Metrobank branches every month. plan ko kasi monthly mag-top up.

tia! ^^

For those planning to invest or add to the BPI mutual fund, I got this off their website:

New and additional subscriptions are temporarily suspended for Philippine Stock Index Fund (PSIF) and ALFM Growth Fund since the funds have already reached their respective Authorized Capital Stocks (ACS). This means that the funds do not have enough shares to offer to the investing public. To address this, applications for new and additional shares have been filed with the SEC. In the meantime, investors may consider investing in the BPI Equity funds. An announcement shall be made as soon as approval from the SEC is obtained and subscriptions to the PSIF and ALFM Growth will again be accepted.

I went to the bank kanina to "top-up" sana but the rep said wala nang shares available.

FAMI kaya yan? If so, good news yan para di na need magopen Metrobank account and online nalang yung payment.

Sana may makapagconfirm nito :)

^ sis yung account code that you're talking about is FAMI? Kasi yung akin 5-digits. When I want to top up online via metrobank I just add 000 in front of my account number para maging 8 digits. It works naman.

plan ko sana mag-awpply for ALFM growth fund. bad news. lol. sana ma-approve kaagad yung new shares from SEC. question mga sis, pag naka-RSP, on time po ba yung pag-deduct ng money? for example, ni-set ko on the 15th day of every month, on the 15th ba talaga made-deduct as long as hindi holiday or weekend? tia! :)

Well, its like asking which is better, cooking your own meals
or ordering from a resto.
If you have the time and expertise, then you should invest
directly in the stock market thru COL
If you don't then let fund managers do it for you and in exchange
you pay them a small fee(indirectly)

hi everyone! i have been lurking this thread and i have been learning a lot. :)

thank you so much sa mga inputs. dahil sa thread na to, i have opened BDO Equity Fund last week.

And I am planning to open another. Either sa FAMI or Philequity. Sa FAMI parang interested ako sa  First Metro Save & Learn Equity Fund (SALEF)  while sa Philequity PhilEquity Fund Inc nila.

Anyone po who have accounts under these?

Any feedbacks would be appreciated. :)

TIA

Sisses, after you invested in FAMI.. meron ba silang ipapadala sayo na certificate or any proof of your investments? Yung philequity ko kasi, they would send me monthly statements.  Pero yung FAMI, I did not receive anything to prove na meron akong investments sa kanila? thanks!!

^^ sis, FAMI sends a confirmation receipt via mail after every investment or top-up. They also send a quarterly statement report. You should follow-up if you haven't received any because you will need to surrender the receipts when you redeem your investment.

^ Thanks for this link. I wonder how this IAF works if the payment is made online via Metrobank direct. I've been depositing online & simply e-mailing them a screen shot of the transfer up until last month.  Wala pa naman silang sinasabi na kelangan ko mag fill up ng IAF & so far all my deposits have been accepted & provided with a confirmation receipt.

update sa Unionbank Online Banking: iba raw yung nakalagay dun na First Metro kasi wala pa raw silang online facilities accdg to a FAMI rep. sayang kala ko pa naman magiging convenient na ko sa pagtop-up.
