^ sis, nasabi ko lang un kasi mabagal yun processing pag nagtop up malamang mabagal din ang pag redeem kasi kelangan isubmit pa yun original redemption form tapos mabagal pa processing.

Sisses, I'm just planning to start investing in mutual funds. Would you say it's a good time to buy?

^When I opened my Philequity account, I sent the forms via courier just to be sure. Then everything else, the additional investments and redemptions, were made through email.

I'm still having so much trouble with redeeming my shares from FAMI. They still want the form, which I've already emailed AND faxed, sent via courier, even though it says in their procedures that via fax is enough.

I've also already changed my FAMI account name to my married name many months ago -- they even sent me an SOA using my married name -- but now, of course, their current records still reflect my maiden name. Syempre magkaka-conflict once they deposit the proceeds to my bank account, which is already under my married name. Ewan ko ba sa FAMI, so disorganized.

waaaaaahhh i've just changed my maiden name to married name din sa FAMI account ko. they've sent me SOA pero email lang. hay naku i need to try redeeming shares na din talaga para malaman kung nagreflect ba ang changes. thank you for that info sis!

Balak ko din mag open ba ng MF aftet mag back read im torn kung FAMI philequity o sunlife. Parang sa sunlife lang [textspeak!] walang charge basta di ka nag widraw after 5 years. Tama po ba ko? Yung for sales load? Sa FAMI kasi parang 1.5% charge agad sa philequity 3%. How about sa pag redeem san po ang di hassle?

ms.libra, yes, nag-download lang ako ng forms and then sent them via Air21. My first investment, I made an online transfer from my UnionBank EON account to their UnionBank account. As for Western Union eBiz, I've only experienced redeeming shares with them, but I don't see why they wouldn't accept other Philequity transactions like opening accounts, initial investments, and top ups.

waaaaaahhh i've just changed my maiden name to married name din sa FAMI account ko. they've sent me SOA pero email lang. hay naku i need to try redeeming shares na din talaga para malaman kung nagreflect ba ang changes. thank you for that info sis!

bb, I hope you have a better experience than mine! Hay nako, sa COR pa lang, kita ko na that they didn't update their records. They sent me one COR with my married name, and the subsequent ones reverted back to my maiden name! I emailed them repeatedly to make sure their records are correct so "I don't have problems redeeming shares from their good company", as I said in my email. Ayun na nga, delay na nga yung check dahil Holy Week, lalo pa na-delay dahil sa hindi nila pag-update ng records.

^amanemisa16, from what I've read here, investing in a Sunlife MF is a big hassle. They require you to send the original documents each and every time. I guess it would be okay if you live/work near a Sunlife office.

I wouldn't choose an MF based on the sales load; I'd choose based on the performance. When an MF performs well, the fees and charges are negligible.

As for redeeming, I can vouch for Philequity's great service and hassle-free system.

Thanks sis ikaela, now im almost decided to invest na with philequity.

By the way totoo kaya sabi nung agent ko mga sis na yung dating fund manager ng FAMI, those years na nag totop siya sa mutual fund e na pirate na ng PAMI? so parang lumalabas na mas maganda na ang performance ng PAMI compared to FAMI?

@sis amanemisa16:I would also vouch for Philequity's great service. I simply email a scanned copy of their form and deposit slip, yun na! They also send the confirmation within 48 hours.

I also tried redeeming, hassle free! Walang arte arte masyado. I submitted the form plus a scanned copy of my valid IDs. I think

Also, Philequity conducts investors forum from time to time - I really enjoyed the last one. They discussed the reasons why they think PH is in a secular bull market. Very informative.

I can compare it to my VUL in sunlife - not a pure MF to, but it has an investment component. ANTAAS NG CHARGE HA. OA!!!! Halos pareho lang naman ang performance with other funds. But invested na ako eh, and I still continue paying premiums to diversify.

^^ Actually I notice nga na panget ang 1 yr and YTD returns ng FAMI compared nun 3 and 5-year return. Not sure though about sa pirate issue.

@melody,
That's an unfair comparison.
Go get a term insurance and consider
that as the charges in your VUL, then compare
the two.

@amane, talaga? I know si Gus Cosio ang "star"
fund manager ng FAMI. His site still says he's with
FAMI but it hasn't been updated since Apr of last year.

maybe its true..

^ my agent is referring to junnie banaag i dont know him pero sabi nung agent ko he was a fund manager of fami before and was pirated by pami. Not so sure kung tama spell ko ng name niya.

By the way mga sis im planning to get an insurance with mutual fund, but my plan is to open as well a separate mutual fund. Do you think mas ok yun kesa mag top up ako dun sa insurance. May option kasing ganon kaso may charge pa din na 4% every top up. Kaya i decided to open na lang a separate mutual fund plus open din ng insurance+mutual fund. Tama kaya ako ng decision?

Its a she and her linkedin profile isn't updated yet
it still lists her as VP of Investment Advisory Group
at FAMI...
Well, we'll see what happens I guess :p

Yes! go get a separate mutual fund. A mutual
fund's charge is so much lower than most top-up charges.
Better yet go get a UITF, they don't have charges.
