Pwede naman Sis.

Wag mo lang ipapaalam sa COL, or kaninuman :P

Bawal kasi yun. You have to be licensed to trade on behalf of a person.

Tama rin ang opinyon mo, kung bumaba ang presyo ng mga binili mong stocks for her, baka sisihin ka rin for things that you do not have control of.

In a way you are also removing from your Tita the opportunity to learn.

Sa kabilang banda, she trusts you enough to manage her funds.

This is just to protect yourself.

You can suggest na she take a VUL or variable universal life.

It is an insurance product na may investment na kasama which is actually a mutual fund.

I can refer one to you.

I hope this helps.

^naku sis. Ganun ba?

I think I need to share this to you too, kasi it will benefit you all. Hindi niyo kasi ito matatakasan e when the time comes.

You mentioned na your Tita is 72 yrs old.

8 yrs na lang and she's 80. 18 yrs and she's 90.

That's still a lot of time :) However, with her age I think it goes without saying that her health is more at risk than when she's younger.

To manage the risk on her investment, I think it should be taken into consideration yung value ng investment na ipapasok niya sa COL. Because these too are subject to estate taxes.

Simply put, that means these investments are subject to freeze when the inevitable happens, along with her other assets (real and liquid(savings, etc)) and her beneficiaries won't be able to use/liquidate/withdraw them until estate taxes are paid

Para simple, just compute 20% of total investment niya and dapat ang insurance niya ay macocover ito.

For example, if your Tita is investing 1 million, then dapat may insurance siya na worth at least 200k. That's just for her COL investment.

Bakit insurance? Kasi insurance is good as cash for payment and BIR requires cash to pay estate taxes. Estate tax is the obligation and insurance is the payment to that obligation. Estate taxes and insurance are both triggered by one thing.

Ang kagandahan lang ng insurance is hindi kailangang bayaran ang buong value, just a portion of it. Example, for a 10 million worth of coverage you only pay a portion of it called the premium. Pero pag kinailangan naman, the 10 million is available at the right time.

Sana'y naintindihan mo ang gusto ko iparating--I wanted to be as direct yet as simple and courteous as possible. Medyo off topic pero sana makatulong.

Here is the tax rate table from BIR website regarding estate taxes:
http://www.bir.gov.ph/index.php/tax-information/estate-tax.html

for your reference

hello total newbie here, COL just sent me my login information. Where can I check my fund information? I checked the portfolio page and it shows that my cash balance is 0.00. What happened to my 5,000 initial fund?

Sis what action do you want to do after the preview? Cancel the order? Modify something?

Usually hihingan ka niyan to enter your password before the order is placed.

Atsaka what did you click after the preview when you said na "wala ng step 2 na lumalabas"?

You can check sa TRADE > VIEW/MODIFY ORDER if nandun yung order na gusto mo i-place. If wala then hindi successful yung order mo. If meron, you can choose to either Cancel or Modify the order provided the market is still open.

Hope this helps..

^ I suggest that you pick the companies you like, study them, look at the numbers, then choose.

In other words, aral muna bago invest :)

^ Teka, let me clarify

An At-the-Close (ATC) Order - the COLFinancial At-the-Close order allows the user to enter an order that would be sent to the Exchange for execution during the market RUN-OFF period at a price equivalent to the closing price of the stock. The ATC Order is available during market session from 9:00 - 11:59 pm. ATC orders will be collected on a first come first serve basis, and will be sent to the Exchange for execution/posting on a first in first out basis during the run-off market period. After posting, all ATC orders immediately become Limit Day Orders at a price equivalent to the closing price of a stock. Any ATC orders still in queue after market close will be removed from the ATC queue.

https://ph5.colfinancial.com/ape/FINAL2_STARTER/CITI_ANNOUNCEMENTS/NEW_ORDER_TYPES.asp

That means, you are buying it at closing price. It does not mean na you can buy after closing ng market.

That is called off-hours orders.
