Ugh... I got myself a relationship manager from COL. Sobrang OA... I have to email everything that I want to request para may documentation... tapos each request may bayad!!! Okay lang sana if email lang... nooo... may request form and you have to sign and then later scan. Even the simplest request! Even to ask for her cellphone number, I have to email. Kaloka... per month na account report is 100php... hindi ko na kasi nakikita yung per month history ko from 2011 kaya I just wanted to check lang sana.

And to think, when I asked for records from the general helpdesk, they gave me the info before (less than 6 months ago) free of charge tapos no need to fill up forms and stuff. Consolidated pa ang report - 24 months worth. When I told her this, sabi niya yung ganung report lang daw ang pwede free of charge... no other requests daw pwede... I bet if I asked the same report from her without letting her know na nakuha ko dati free of charge, she would charge me still.

I wish hindi nalang ako kumuha ng relationship manager. Parang I used to be a happy customer of COL and now, I am seriously thinking of changing stockbrokers.

Anyway, sorry... just ranting...

^---i think may bayad talaga ang relationship manager ng COL... parang dedicated fund manager sya ehh

but to think about it, is a good waste of money, kasi halos lahat naman ng info pwedeng makuha ng free with COL.   What you should ask for your RM are tips on when and where to invest and how to better allocate your investment funds.  Para masulit mo sis.

Actually, the relationship manager is free for COL premier accounts, which I have. Parang I qualified for it so they gave me one. She is not a dedicated fund manager, pero dedicated customer service representative.  Iba din yung Private Client Group. That one naman, mas higher yung commission rate ng COL, pero that's because they really help you manage your fund.

Subscribing to this thread. This year lang din ako nagopen sa COL. I started with 5k then cost averaging. Natalo ako  dati sa smdc pero nabawi ng 2 stocks ko so far 5k palang ang tubo ko. Not bad in just 3 or 4months. Pero naiinggit ako sa boss ko halos mabawi na nya un capital nya 100k. Oh well, mas malaki capital mas malaki talaga returns. Pero this is better kasi ang SA ko never pa tumubo ng 5k in barely 4months. Haha

How is this better than equity funds? I'm about to open na with Philequity then I read about this, which would be a better move?

^ sis this is Do-It-Yourself Investing so ikaw talaga pipili ng stocks mo. Advantage for me is that you've got to pick your own stocks and if you study well you will make a lot of money trading but you will also lost (although I never tried trading, takot ako).

Sa MF naman or UITFs maganda sya because you pay someone to do the investing for you.

From what i understand, you have to two options on COL stocks: invest or trade?
which of the two is more advisable if long term naman?

For long term, it's invest. Use cost averaging. Mas ok if you will have 2 or 3 blue chip companies for long term investment and some for trading. :) join some fonancial griups in facebook, discussing anout tips and trends in the stock market. It's very important to study muna a bit about the market before diving inyo the roller coaster ride of trading and investment.

Now is the best time to invest. Ang daming masaya na traders last friday kasi ang laki ng profit lalo na after the ibvestment grade release of S&P.

Also, diversify portfolio. Sabi nga ng mga gurus, "do not put all uour eggs in one nest". Happy investing.

im opening an account pag nagbakasyon ako this end of May excited na ako to start investing. may question lang ako mga sis yung secondary account holder ba yun yung parang benificiary mo just in case may mangyari dun sa primary account holder can i put my sister as the secondary account holder kahit ako lang talaga ang gagamit? how long will it take to process my application if ipapadala ko through LBC ang application ko kasi 1 week lang ako sa Pinas thru mail ba or email na lang nila papadala yung account username at password? TIA  :)

^---kung malapit ka lang sa Ortigas, the best talaga ang pumunta dun.  it would only take an hour to open an account.

pero kung malayo, why not send them an email today containing all scanned docs that you have.  send it via LBC once dumating ka sa pinas.  at least you have prior notice and would be able to learn kung ano ang kulang mo na docs.

this may save you precious time too.

^i think i'll do that sis thanks. since may online statement account naman ako sa BPI baka pwede yun.

one of my concerns is yung beneficiary just in case may mangyari sa account holder wala kasi akong mabasa sa signing form to enumerate a beneficiary so what will happen to your stocks kanino na mapupunta?
