Hi, ask ko lang POV niyo. :-) we're not chinese, we're just a regular filipino citizen. We're 3 months married with a 10 month old child. He has business, they are 3 male, my husband, a 30 y/o single guy, & a 40+ married LDR with 2 daughters. They have partner abroad (a couple). My husband and his business partners we're invited to celebrate, spend chinese New year abroad, all expenses paid daw. Without US. I just wanted to know your insights? Thank you! :-)

Hindi ka kasama.
Consider it a business trip.
If I were not Chinese, quesehoda Chinese New Year -- I will let him go.
Papipigil ba hubby mo if you say: no, do not go.

first time ba na mag-a-out of the country siya without you? i think tama si sis aquacharly, parang sa kwento mo it's a business trip kasi partner nila abroad ang nag-invite at partners dito sa phil. ang invited...kung partners+family ok lang na sumama kayo ng baby mo, pero otherwise, wag mo ilagay sa alanganin/compromising situation si mister :)

kung businessman siya, (as you said newly married kayo) masanay ka na sa mga lakad niya.

Wala naman masama kung aalis si husband to spend the Chinese New Year with his busness partners kahit na local or sa abroad pa. 10-11 lang naman yun, I'm sure babalik din agad.

Let him go, malay mo mas makatulog pa sa negosyo at marami pang makilalang business partners and let him grow din. Hindi naman pwede all the time bitbit kayong mag-ina. Good luck sis! :)

^^ sila lang bang business partners dito ang invited or meron pang iba? any occassion is an opportunity to meet business contacts. que yun or di yun ang main purpose.

regarding your birthday, ganun talaga pag may business, maraming nasasacrifice. if di siya makakauwi on time, marami namang paraan to still make you feel special on that day. or pwede ring sumama kayo sa kanya pero mag-iba kayo ng lakad ng baby mo. on your birthday, i spend niya kasama kayo, extended vacation kumbaga. since your husband is a businessman, expect na marami pang ganitong instances na mangyayari. support your husband sis, don't make things too complicated for him. try to work around the situation na lang.

Priceless

As I said to you in your previous thread, stop being so needy and high maintenance. Kung magkahalong business at sight seeing yun,  eh ano? It will improve the business relationship of your husband sa partners nya. I have had many business meetings and conferences where the wife and the kids tag along uninvited and it's counter productive plus it doesn't help your husband's professional image. Sino bang hindi mo pinagkakatiwalaan? Husband mo or partners nya? Baka naman naiingit ka kasi may ganyang opportunity si husband?  Bat di mo nalang sabihan si husband na he can go but make sure to come back for your birthday? (Although kahit birthday mo pa yun, e ano? You're not 5 years old for  crying out loud!!! You can postpone birthday celebration - perhaps he might even buy you an age appropriate present kasi you're finally acting like a grown up!)

i think business trip yan na may halong pleasure na din. you can't expect that their partner would also shoulder for the wives kasi maski to celebrate chinese new year, mag uusap pa din yan ng business.

if you really want to be there, you can pay for your own plane ticket para kasama mo si hubby but don't expect him to bring you along sa mga lakad nila because you are not invited.

minsan maski birthdays or any other special occasions, mamiss yan and it's not avoidable. my hubby works offshore and never namin nacocomplete in a year yung birthdays namin, anniv, valentine's, christmas, new year, etc together. so be happy and don't be to possessive.

i think it's time for you to show some support kay husband sis. wag puro yung gusto mo. and besides he's doing this naman for you and your baby so magagawa mo nalang for him is to be supportive sakanya. like what sis priceless said, dont be too needy. :)

opportunity pa rin yan para sa hubby mo. makipag-bonding sa business partners, mapag-usapan ang business para mapalago, etc. chaka kahit married na tayo sa mga husbands natin, we do not own them. dapat may mga careers ang wifey, hindi husband ang kina-career, kasi baka masakal. :D

hindi ko alam huh, baka hindi lang ako sentimental talaga na tao pero, ang birthday pwedeng i-celebrate some other day, pero ang opportunity bihira yan.

Businessman ang asawa mo hindi ordinaryong empleyado. As a wife of a businessman I dont mind not spending special days without him. Im old enough to find ways to spend it with other special people in my life. Im the first place, it will do good sa negosyo, connections rin yun. Maybe for you malaking issue to but for me hindi rin eh.

I dont celebrate holidays na buo kame as family. Why? Holidays kasi means more tao sa mga resto namin so alangan naman pabayaan ko yung resto just because gusto ko na andito sya sa house. We just make it sure na we will have dinner together before we head out to the different branches ng negosyo namin...

Just my two cents, try to control your tendency to be needy... Kasi sa ibang guys its a way of showing of insecurity and paramg sinasabi mo na walang kang tiwala sa kanya.. Yunlang

If you insist on going along, will you feel bad if your hubby spends time with his business partner without you and your baby? You might feel even worse and abandoned if you end up going around on your own or staying in the hotel. It will be awkward if you go along with  your hubby and all his business partners for all meals and occasions. Most likely they will talk a lot of business and they might not want to talk openly around you. It will defeat the purpose of them organizing the trip in the first place. If it's a business trip, let him be.

I have never been the type of girl who needs to constantly be beside her man or know where he is. I trust him enough and I have friends and family of my own to keep me busy while he is busy. Make plans for yourself and your baby! Two to three days is not hard to fill with activity.

If you're not chinese then why will spending chinese new year together as a family be of any significance to you? Why make a big deal of it? Your birthday is on Feb 14 pa so your hubby should be home by then? Unless you insist on spending a "birthday week"?

what TS posted reminded me of something way way back m& hubby's early years of marriage.
although my hubby is not a businessman, just a regular employee....

their department was going to Baguio (team building)..eh hindi pa ako nakakapunta that time sa Baguio so hindi ko sya pina-join sa kanila  ;D  hindi din naman sya sumama kahit na yung ibang married guys sumama, sya lang hindi....

So i can relate to TS...maybe if he REALLY needs to go, edi sabihin mo sumama ka...what's the worst thing that could happen ba kung kasama ka? Masisira ba relationship nya with his business partners? hindi naman siguro diba....after all, you're his wife.. you can say you are there for moral support ;)

^partners ng hubby niya magbabayad ng expenses so it would be really awkward kung isasama siya. it will leave a bad impression. parang siyang nag-gate crash :)

^^of course it goes without saying that hubby (or sya if she earns her own money) should pay for her own ticket fare.

editing... may ibang issue pa pala si ts.. maybe it's better nga na let your hubby go on his own. kaya mo yan sis...

IMHO it's in very bad taste if you tag along at your husband's business meetings and conferences lalo na if spouses or families are not invited naman. Even if you pay for your own fare. Siguro if you want to extend the trip and join after the conference or the meetings are finished, pwede pa. In some companies, this is expressly prohibited sa policy and pag nahuli ang "sneak in", it's subject for disciplinary action.

Madagdag ko lang, don't hold back your hubby from attending conferences and meetings and things like team building seminars. To you (and to him perhaps) it may seem trivial pero some bosses take note of non-attendance. Case in point, I used to have a colleague who had quite a promising career ahead of him. He got asked to go for a week long seminar abroad. He refused to go - from my recollection, it was the wife din who didn't allow him to go. Unbeknownst to him, the trip was to fAst track his skill development kasi he was being eyed for a promotion.  But because he didn't go, they put someone else for the promotion. Last I heard he was in the role he was in for a long time until he changed jobs dahil hindi na nga sya umasenso.

If makiki-celebrate si hubby, may close relatives ba kayo?

if wala...

Malinaw ang dahilan. Gustong lang mag happy happy kasama mga officemates nya.

Inuulit ko sarado ang mga office during CNY.

pero hotel hindi. hihi
