brown_kristel - thanks sis!  whew! I was worried there for a moment!  Was thinking everything we have planned might change for that reason..

For P/V's - why don't you try Mayad sis, they have a Boracay-based team so you won't have to pay OOT Fees, and airfare and hotel?

@brown_kristel - We're flying our P/V's from Manila, we booked J Lucas Reyes & Cinemaworks.  Including their airfare, hotel and meals - we are shedding approximately the same amount - 200K++.

How about Bordoy Viterbo?  I also see Mayk Pericon - but if I remember correctly from the old thread, sis imbisibol_ didn't have a very good experience with Mayk.

I also see Gerard Dacles - he is based yata in Bacolod (or Iloilo?), not sure if he charges OOT fees though, mas prefer mo ba Boracay-based?  We don't have many options sa island eh.. that's the prob..

but actually, a girltalker who knew mayk pericon alerted him to my rant.  to his credit, mr. pericon did get in touch with me right away to explain everything.  and since his explanation was plausible, the apology was graciously accepted.  i also recanted and updated my rant.

Just wanted to share what Asya said re: the new ordinance.

Regarding concern for the beachfront set up, Yes a new ordinance was released by the local municipality. Certain  guidelines and ruling were issued for strict compliance by all establishments and resorts in Boracay  and we at Asya are still in the process on communicating with the local office for a special permit be granted for reception( buffet set up) at the beachfront.

At this point, we are holding the buffet area (food set up) in Palay, but still set up for ceremony(decorated arch), reception (tables, etc) are still possible and can placed at the beachfront. Only the food set up was moved.

We are almost at our one year anniversary. We got married in Boracay last year at Asya and used Bordoy to make our videos. To anyone thinking of getting married in Boracay, I say DO IT!! It was thebest wedding we could ever imagine. Asya is HIGHLY reccomended, and we could NOT have been more pleased with Bordoy for both of our wedding videos..

One issue we had is with posting the videos on Youtube. After a few thousands views, Youtube suddenly removed the sound from the SDE video and sent us a message saying we did not have the rights to the music. It was on Youtube for about 4 months without any sound.. For some reason the sound is working now but I have no idea for how long it will work..
With the Marryoke video, Youtube has not removed the sound BUT it will not play the video on mobile because we do not have the rights to the song..
If you are just keeping your videos for yourself this is not an issue, BUT if you want to put your video on Youtube, keep this in mind!
Anyway hope you like the videos, we have super pleased with them!

^ i think vimeo doesn't have issues with songs, SDES, etc. your wedding looked awesome and you were beautifully radiant too sis. i watched it for 5 times. mostly Asya and Shangrila yung mga nakikita kong Boracay venues here.

we're going to have our detailing with Sol Marina soon and i can't wait. we don't have any coordinator but my friends are willing to help me out on the day of the wedding. our p/v will be from Manila (Klay Photography) and we really got a very excellent deal. we just have our Bonnie and Clyde-inspired engagement shoot with them recently. our package already included their airfare, hotel, fees, etc but it was less than the packages i saw from the recent posts - 2 videographers and 2 photographers. we also have our own solemnizing officer and friends are happy to pay for their own airfare and hotel.

hope it won't be too rainy this July though

lvboracay, your SDE is really cute!  your husband is a riot and was totally game, huh?!

this happened to ours too.  i opened a dispute with youTube, and they backed down a little.  our video still can't be played in Germany (don't know why) and won't play in mobile devices too.

hello ladies.. i am so sorry for not getting back to you all sooner i have been so busy with the wedding..

regarding the ordinance it was true! Amanda advised me that Asya doesnt have a wide beach kasi kaya ganon but I went ballistic haha when I learnt that. They explained to me that the food set up will be at Palay Restaurant which is located at Palay Garden which is nasa taas pa. For us it a hassle to make the guests go up and get their food plus we have kids and baka mahulog pa mga kids kaka akyat baba just to get food. We were worried na baka tamarin yung mga guests if nasa taas yung food so I really insisted na kung ano yung agreement namin yun ang dapat na masunod. And they advised me less than 3 weeks before the wedding sabihin ng maarte ako whatsoever pero what we want was how we envisioned it. Fortunately nagawan naman ng paraan and I was glad that everything went very well on the wedding day.

So if you are holding your wedding in Asya double check this arrangement.

Video wala pa kami. Magaling si Benjo Hilario kaso too short yung wedding highlights nya 6-8 minutes lang.

^^ @brown_kristel: sis yung sa asya yung mga decor nila hindi mashadong kagandahan ha so dont expect much i had to change mine kasi diko bet yung decor nila eh sa opinion ko lang naman.. no offense meant kanino man nag upgrade ako ng flowers and I never used their decor unlike sa shang & and sa discovery shores super ganda ng mga table settings nila kahit di mo na palitan sila na ang bahala. about the wedding highlight yung SDE ba ang ibig mong sabihin? usually sis ganon lang ang duration ng SDE. yung samin nasa 6mins then aside from that Notion is doing a 20min composed feature film + yung raw of course ibibigay nila yun. nakakaexcite naman ang preps hahaha

@chicgurl, as in nagpalit ka lahat ng decor? siguro magdagdag kami pero di ganun na kadami kasi sa Estacio kahit sobrang flowers pa ilagay namin ok sana kaso super crowded na talaga dun. Yung SDE nya is 3-6 min, wedding highlights is 6-8 minutes. kaya nagtaka kami sobrang igsi. sino yung video nyo?

^ yes i changed everything kasi ayoko talaga nung decor nila pero nasa sayo naman yun sis. we paid extra mga 14K php to upgrade the flowers. oo crowded kasi sa station 1 sis kaya din ayaw namin dun ang top 3 choices lang namin were Shang, Asya & Discovery we opted for ASYA. ayy too short nga kung highlights is 6 to 8 i thought SDE lang yun. Our Video was Notion in Motion brother ni Bob Nicolas.

ganda ng gawa ng notion in motion pero ang mahal kasi nila. ayun kung mga 15k upgrade sa flowers i guess pwde na. tutal kahit simple lang decors eh maganda na yung surroundings. Sinong sa photo mo sis?

^ MangoRed sis yung photo namin.. mas mura si notion kesa kay bob nicolas.. si bob una naming choice kaso booked na siya. sis please keep in mind yung 15K upgrade for the flowers eh for 60 guests yun. not sure if mas mahal pag mas madami kasi mas madaming tables?

Glad to know na nagawan ng paraan ng Asya yung sa setup ng food.. they haven't told me anything, maybe because they are still in the process of doing something about it, but nevertheless, I'd insist too!  Thanks thanks for the heads up! 

Who did your gown?? It's so pretty, and you looked very pretty!  Isa pang tanong sis, yung centerpieces mo (branches) yun yung upgraded na 15K?  Wala din kasi akong nagustuhan sa theme nila, so I'm thinking of changing din..  Yung flowers sa canopy upgraded na din?  Sorry dami ko question hihi  TIA!

I think youtube removes the sound when you don't have a copyright.  I uploaded din our save the date video there and it played for a long time. But recently, I happened to check the site, and similar to others, wala ng sound ang video.

@iAmMariee: hi sis.. thank you very much hihi yes we are very pleased with our SDE everyone loves it it's amazing I did not expect too much at first and then when we saw it during the reception wow ang saya lang haha yes sis better to inform them right away about the food set up, si amanda ba ang coordinator mo? for my dress it was made by VEEJAY FLORESCA thank you yes the dress is really really beautiful i've got loads of compliments.. about the centerpieces I am not sure if the twigs are included na sa 15K upgraded flowers maybe coz i didnt see any charges for the twigs sa breakdown of the costs. ok lang sis tanong ka lang anytime

@shegie_285: thank you very much too!! all the songs were chosen by Notion, they asked me if i have preferred songs I told them it's their forte and I trust them so whatever suits for the SDE sila na bahala and they appreciated it.. i havent posted this on YouTube yet.. lol no time.. will keep that in mind..

Hello ladies!

Got engaged just recently, and have been stressing over where/how/when to do the wedding! (I thought engagement is supposed to fun  ) Anyhow, we've been debating where to have the wedding as we're most concerned not to be broke even before our married life starts! He didn't want Manila (he wasn't too impressed when he came as a tourist) but budget-wise, I thought it would be great. However, he also wants a small wedding, and I'm not too keen on inviting the whole clan as well, so we thought, "maybe Boracay or Palawan?" Would be good for his friends/relatives who would want to come from Australia too.

ANYWAY! (Sorry for the essay) What I wanted to ask is -- how much did you all shell out for your special day? We're thinking of only having 30-50 people, and I only have a friend I can compare with who did really good on her QC wedding which cost her less than Php 600k with 150 guests. Don't know anyone who's done a destination wedding, so I'm hoping you girls can help!
