sis brown_kristel, a colleague of mine just got married at Boracay and she got https://www.facebook.com/boracayweddingandeventscoordinator i think 35k yung OTD nila.

sis if Pinas based ka lang naman, you can get your marriage license kung san ka nakatira. that's what we're going to do. the thing about it is, we still have to look for someone to submit the marriage contract at Caticlan's local civil registry after the wedding kasi yung pastor namin, flight na agad the next day. since budget wedding kasi kami at sadyang kuripot ako, i can't shell out 10k para lang magfile ng paper yung ibang tao for us.

shegie_285. yah i'm crossing my fingers too. i'm still waiting for their emails though. kalurkei maghintay haha. aside from nigi nigi, i'm waiting replies from Sol Marina and Fairways Bluewater din =)

if On the day coordination, will they help to make sure that we need from our suppliers will be on time? will they give us contact numbers of suppliers?

HELP!

Friend of mine who got married in Boracay suggested this forum, she found it extremely useful when planning her wedding while living overseas. I'm now in the same situation, living in Australia and planning a wedding in Boracay this year.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good OTD(?) wedding coordinator and make-up artist, preferably Boracay-based.

Unfortunately for me, Amanda and Boracay Resident Wedding & Events Coordinator will not be available on our wedding day (29 December 2014). Does anyone know who the second best (or 3rd best) is?

While I'm not interested in over-priced make-up artists, hindi ko rin titipirin sarili ko when it comes to them as I want to look my best on my special day. So if anyone knows who the best of the best makeup artist on the island is, please let me know

We really cannot afford Amand Tirol. and seems like she is getting really busy so we opted for partial coordination with Boracay Resident and Events Coordinator under Ronald Soncio. He replies really fast and napaka friendly. His service is cheaper than Amanda. We opted for partial which is 50k compared to 75k of the other party.

@VieveWatson, check https://www.facebook.com/boracaybellsnblooms, I don't know how good they are though, I don't come across them a lot too!  Only learned of them when I was there at the island (saw their shop at D'Mall).

@IamMariee Oo nga medyo stress-free na nung binook namin sila. Pati yung appointment sa US embassy sa Manila sila na bahala. less paper works na din sa part namin. Yun lang bawas na naman sa budget yun. Iniisip ko nalang minsan lang naman tayo ikakasal kaya todo na to. haha

Hello ladies!
I haven't been here for a while! Just an update , my FI and I are in boracay right now! We have just done our pre wedding film (save the date video) with the Mayad team! - very impressed with them, how they work and very humble. They are very easy to work with and cool guys. Food tasting is on the next list with the events coordinator at shangrila! And of course we are meeting Amanda Tirol for the first time tomorrow!

So far so good! Since we arrived in the Philippines, we haven't stop. Just been busy sorting out stuff for the big day in Dec 2014. Went to bridal fairs in Manila as well and it's a big help as we have manage to source out some affordable suppliers like the wedding invites. Attending the bridal fair , help us to decide which are the must and just nice things to have on your wedding day! In addition , we have seen some wedding coutures as well .

That's it and hopefully we will be able to book and decide for other suppliers before we return back to the UK.

@soon_2_be mrsL, I'm getting married in December 2014 too! I see that you live in the UK... are you marrying a Brit too?

I live in Australia but my fiancé is English.

We had chosen Fridays but Amanda suggested either Sea Wind or Asya. Would be interested in the GirlTalkers' take on those 3 resorts? We'll probably have a small intimate wedding (around 30 guests). So space shouldn't be a huge issue

hi Viv! oh you're only planning for 30 guests? Then space is not an issue nga. Although in our case we thought we'd only have 50 or less guests, we had around 90 in the end, so maybe take that into consideration.  Nasurprise kami sa mga galing sa ibang bansa. Pati mga friends ng parents ni Ken pumunta.

That's our estimate for now based on the response - there's not a lot of people that can fly to Boracay for the holidays, money and time off often being the issue.

Grabe 90 guests, you really had a big wedding ha Yeah I think we'll have a small intimate one, so I think maybe Fridays will be doable.

Although I just read from TripAdvisor that Fridays currently has landlord/rent dispute and parang may issue ata. :/

Finally got our venue for our Boracay wedding (yey!)  we'll celebrate it at Sol Marina and they gave us a good deal =)

make sure to post pictures and reviews of your wedding!  after several snowstorm successions in a row, i sorely need a whiff of boracay sun and sand- even if they be just in pictures..

@brown_kristel wala akong coordinator sis. on the day, ang tutulong sa kin is my friend, my MOH and yung events coordinator ng Sol Marina. siya na din kasi yung kakausapin ko for our detailing. yes sis meron na akong p/v. yung nabook naming p/v here sa manila, sila na din yung dadalin namin sa Boracay. we got Klay Photography.

@shegie_285 oo sis malaking relief na sa kin ang may ceremony and venue in one. detailing na lang kulang para maging all set na kami at wala na kong iintindihin regarding sa Boracay. mga DIYs na lang these coming months.

@chicgurl sis kelan pa daw nagstart yan? try ko ask bukas yung sa Sol Marina. kasi di ba kaya nga sila nag aask for beach wedding permit fee para pwedeng magheld ng wedding by the beach? Sol Marina on the other hand didn't asked me to pay that nga pala unlike sa mga resorts na napag inquire-an ko along white beach. i'll let you know sis kapag nagreply na sila sa kin tomorrow to clarify this.

Where did you guys hear about this new ordinance on beach wedding reception? What exactly did Asya say to you?

I can't seem to find anything on the internet about it.

We're getting married at Asya and also got Amanda. They haven't really mentioned anything to me about not being able to hold receptions at the beach anymore. They did mention that they're publishing a "new wedding package", which I interpreted as them updating their prices (gulp).

If anyone has more info on this, please keep us posted!
