Of course my coordinator is Amanda.. and like @emramos we booked Asya.. and yes they are very very quick in replying to all my unending questions.. I think I am the most annoying customer with regard to asking question hahaha but I ask politely naman po

We thought of booking Shangri La however we changed our minds and booked ASYA instead

For now yan pa lang ang nacoconfirm namin..

Photo/Video and the rest wala pa hehe

For the add-ons from Amanda, I was actually thinking about that too, although I have no idea bout the cost yet - I should probably check that out with her.. but you are right, if you get them from her then you wouldn't have to think about it, and you won't have to worry about shipping them to Boracay as well, just in case you are looking at getting them from somewhere else.. di ba?

so i'm torn between seawind and asya.. we were considering fridays too but who knows...

chicgurl: welcome sis and congrats din! april 2014! super hot talaga.. Asya ka.. are u gonna have the reception sa beachfront or in another area?

to the past seawind brides: were you extremely happy with sea wind??? im not sure wether we have any past brides na with asia.. but if you were, were you happy? im getting mixed reviews from asya, their website looks absolutely perfect but i guess they're renovating now. make sure no renovations on the day of your weddings ladies!

sa seawind ba if you dont hire amanda, u think ms. nelly will be able to handle it?

@sanavanic: thanks thanks.. hay nako di pwedeng may renovation sa wedding day ko.. hell breaks lose pag nagkataon hahaha but I am sure they wont do that. and next year pa naman siguro naman tapos na renovation nila if ever hahaha. the ceremony & the reception itself will be at the beach but the cocktail will be at palay garden [textspeak!] parang small hanging cliff weee and yes uber hot goodluck sakin hahaha eh kasi most of the guests galing sa gloomy UK ayan magsawa sila sa init at araw ng pilipinas sa april hahaha tsaka para uber sure na hindi uulan hehe kaya april ang pinili namin. 1st week ng April..


@iAmMariee: oo nga dumadami na nakakatuwa.. sa totoo lang nung una ayoko talaga ng beach wedding esp if boracay kasi public kasi sa kaartehan ko ayoko ng strangers sa photos hehe sorry maarte lang.. i have heard that Discovery Shores eh ayos talaga ive got some friend din na dun ang reception nila.

I want mayad nga din sana kaso kalula the price hehe pero looking at Bob Nicolas for the Video; namimili pa ako ng photo, may first choice talaga is Metro Photo by Oly Ruiz nicoconvince ko pa si hubs to be hehe for my wedding gown, it's Veejay Floresca pala hihi then HM&U Paolo Maranan so far yan pa lang. Sino ang mga overseas dito? paano kayo nakikipag communicate kay amanda?

and question, are you going to pay all the accommodation costs of your guests? Thanks in advance..

@sanavanic - I've read a lot of good reviews with Seawind, and I met Nelly personally and she's really nice!  I even considered Seawind as well  

Our sis shegie_285 was extremely happy with them and if you go thru her blog, she talked about having a coordinator on the day itself as one of the best decisions she have made, although she did not book Amanda...  so I think you still need to get one.  Nelly for sure, will be able to handle your event at their resort, but the extent of her duties is different from that of a coordinator who will oversee and execute everything about the wedding.

Did you get a response from Amanda yet on her availability?

@chicgurl - I think most of us here are overseas - I'm communicating with Amanda only via email, I haven't even called her lol.  Right after we signed the contract di pa ko ulit nagemail sa kanya, haha I'm kinda slacking kasi Dec 2014 pa ko.. although I'm working on the details of the wedding naman..

You should have gone to Shangri-La you will have the beach on your own - absolutely no strangers   You have a very good lineup of suppliers, I love Bob Nicolas - he was my first choice, but again, we couldn't afford him

On your question about paying the accommodation of our guests - hell no!  Firstly, we do not have the money to spare!  Secondly, it is also their chance to spend a holiday, bakasyon na rin nila yun   hitting 2 birds in 1 stone..   But we will pay for our family members though

@iAmMariee: we thought of Shangri La but OA sa rate hehe + they want certain number of rooms/nights so mas namamahalan ako eh sa Asya 3 rooms lang at private din naman sila kasi sa dulo sila. We stayed in Shang last 2011 vacay namin nagustuhan namin kaya una naming choice but we opted for Asya.. Ako ilang beses ko na nakausap si Amanda ang kulit ko nga siguro haha and email email lang.. dapat may skype meeting kami last week kaso super sleepy pa si fiance ko si postpone muna.. we are 4 hours behind Phils kasi eh 11am Manila time so 7am?! tapos weekend nun so di natuloy haha.. taga Dubai ako mga sis.. kayo? gusto ko na nga matapos lahat ng prepping para pretty pretty na lang ako hahaha kahit na 1 year away pa.. di pa kami nagsesend ng save the date pero most of our invitees aware naman na..

ah ok so di nyo pay yung guests? hmmm kasi isip ng fiance ko they traveled that far tapos di pa namin sshoulder yung accommodation.. nahihiya naman daw siya.. family oo shempre pero yung sa side ko na friends pay din namin ng accommodation.. kaya hanap hanap pa ng mura murang resort hehe flights NOT included kasi accommodation & transfers lang sagutin namin..

mga sis sino dito sumagot ng accommodation ng guests nila?

@chicgurl - great that your fiance is ok to pay for guests' accommodation..   Kami hindi talaga haha and we are not having any problems naman about it, most of the guests are from North America so expected na nila kkb kasi ganun naman talaga sila    Mas nagkkaproblema pa nga ko sa mga Pinoy guests lol - ang tanong agad nila if sagot namin airfare at hotel

That's true on the Shangri-La, on us they required 10 guaranteed room bookings and that threw us off..   I'll be looking for hotel rooms too, please share if you find anything

BTW, I'm in GCC too, currently in Doha, was in DXB last 2010 and then I moved here

@iAmMariee: oo willing naman siya to pay for the guests' accommodation pero may share din yung mga taga UK & NZ.. pero the pinoy guests ayyy hello yun nga sila pa talaga sakit sa ulo haha kaya uber close friends lang talaga ang iinvite namin.. how many guests mo? kami max 100 ayoko ng uber dami pero for sure di kami aabot ng 100. sinabi ko talaga sa mga friends ko just accommodation, at hello 1 year to advise kung gusto talaga nila pumunta at importante ako sa kanila gagawa sila ng way diba!!? hehe yun lang.

yes yun nga kaya di na din kami nag SHANG.. hehe oi neighbor lang pala kita eh hehe..

sige sige sasabihan kita ng decent cheap hotel.. tsaka 2 nights lang sagot haha kung extend sila or dating early up to them pero specified na 2 nights lang hehe pero [textspeak!] sa partido ng H2B ko 6nights ata sila dun.. nakakaexcite.. eto kausap ko si amanda now sa email lol

Affordable Hotels (from past conversations) for guests: Boracay Breeze, Escondido, Las Brisas, White House, Sur, Residencia Boracay, willy's beach club...

@chicgurl: i have friends from the UK and yes.. magsasawa talaga sila sa araw.. tell them to slather sunblock they will burn baby burn.. lol

we're considering asya bec. since nasa dulo sila eh walang mashadong extra sa picture kaso parang mabobored naman ako if i want to go around kasi ang layo ng lakad to staion 2 and station 1 kung doon.. saka ang daming good reviews sa seawind. hmmm... well, it all oils down to the future mr. we'll see by the end of the week. wish me luck.


 one of my big concerns too, is the extras in the pictures. so i share with that sentiment.  i told my parents that non-negotiable ang photo/video so sa budgeting namin constant sha. we are paying for our own wedding so we are not paying for anyone's flights but we are paying for my family's and our best man and his wife. we have a small wedding mga 30-50 ppl lang so closest of the close lang ang invited and we have informed them already but no date yet kc we're still waiting for my PR here sa canada.. already did the medical last feb sabi sa website 8 months max ang result. so we're hoping by march next year ok na lahat sana naman maaprove na! my future husband is very optimistic, on the other hand i'm a lil pesimistic kasi i know, that the immigration takes their time. but im keeping fingers and toes crossed and praying everyday! my FH wants to spend his 3 weeks there kasi it's a break from the winters here (that's why originally we planned for feb). he works outside so I would really want that for him too but it's out of our hands.

seawind replies so fast, it's so excellent...fridays not so much... asia no replies yet (i just emailed them last night).

nacurious naman ako sa Seawind pero un nga kasi ayoko sa public beach kasi for sure may mga usi sa ceremony & sa reception.. till what time allowed mag party party sa seawind sis? sa Asya till 12midnight lang daw let me quote leslie: " all our event is strictly until 12mn. To give consideration also with other in-house guests , Volume of sound or event music should be at minimal level by 10 pm."

i think yang list of affordable hotels binigay din yan ni amanda sakin.. we will checkk thanks sis.. ay nako malaki na sila bahala silang masunog gusto nila yan eh hahaha i swear they dont like sunblocks..

wow, the thread is certainly growing, i can't keep track of the number and names of upcoming brides anymore!  but i think a general concern is paying for guests' accommodations, so here's how we handled that--

we only paid for a room, breakfast, and transfers for my parents for two nights (my husband's parents were too old to make the trip from new jersey).  we also paid for another room, breakfast, dinner, and transfers for two cousins and a nephew for two nights.  other than those, all guests were on their own 

we still ended up with 85 adults and 16 kids who made the trip.

Hi ladies, parang hindi naman kamahalan yung nakuha ko kay Mayad although, we opted for the simple package na SDE with 2 videographers. All in all 75K lang.. If u want to add wedding highlights additional 20-30K ata. So pwede na dn. No flights, OOT fees coz King is based in Boracay na.

I would have wanted Bob Nicolas but sooooo expensive. Anyways, ok na si Mayad.

Re: guests flights and accomodoation, dedma. Haha! Matanda na sila, kaya na nila... And wala naman reklamo ang iba.. At least wala pa ako naririnig.

Hi tWicked - wow really 75K!?? Hmmn, I might have misread their rates when I asked, the rate I saw was 150K atleast for the wedding coverage, plus 40K OOT charge (this covers the airfare too but not including island transfers), plus they prefer to stay at the same hotel where we will stay (or atleast the closest hotel possible), eh sa Asya atleast 18K per night! - so that threw me off!!! So all in all, that would be 250K approx just for them

@chicgurl - hi sis!  Maximum din namin 100 guests, but currently we are looking at 60-80   And I agree, that's the reason why it is important to send save the dates kahit na malayo pa talaga, atleast they can plan their trip and they have more time to save if talagang gusto nila..  actually I'm looking for a designer para sa save the date namin, I have been lazy - I should really do this soon

@sanavanic - wish you all the best sis   I really hope your PR gets sorted out very very soon.. and wag ka ma-stress, ok lang yan, you'll pull it off   thanks on the hotel recommendations pala

@iAmMariee when is ur wedding date? I think starting Mar 2013, may Mayad Boracay na and so OOT fees and airfare/accommodations are already waived. Unless nalang if u prefer the Manila based Mayad videographers.  Ask for the Mayad Boracay package para sure

sis sanavanic extremely happy with seawind. Ms. Nelly is very helpful but sabi nga ni sis iAmMariee you still need a coordinator on the day para alalay mo and sa church. Walang staff sa church! I dont know if buntis kase ang secretary nung time ko but my coordinators were the ones who put the carpet. Si Ms. Nelly sa reception set-up sya naka-focus. Pero very helpful si Ms. Nelly kase i have manila OTDs so they are not familiar with Boracay but Ms. Nelly assisted naman plus crew meal si Ms. Nelly nag-asikaso. I ordered it from SeaWind na.

Actually I didn't notice mga usi (nakatalikod kase ang main table sa beach) and walang namang mga extrang tao sa pictures so i dont think this is much of a bother.  Ewan ko lang sa ceremony ha kase sa church ako pero reception hindi ko naging problem ang usis.

chicgurl we didn't pay din for accommodation kahit pa madami galing abroad.  bakasyon din naman nila ang wedding. There were only two guests where I asked my hubby if we should pay for accommodation, they're Indians kase and when we went to their wedding, they paid for our accommodation in India. But my hubby said that's their culture, its not your culture nor my culture so KKB talaga. At pag nagbayad sa isa, dapat lahat pare-pareho.  My mom and I shared for fares/accommodation of our relations who couldnt afford to go to Boracay. But these are relations who are really close to me and I wanted them to be there. Sa may bulabong beach namin sila tinira para mura.

SeaWind allows party up to 12 midnight too.

Cheap accommodation - most of my friends stayed in Royal Park Hotel and La Carmela. sa La Carmela, i was just surprised a lot of my friends booked there, i dont know if there was a promo or something hindi ko naman nirecommend ang hotel. When i asked lang for hotels for their welcome kit, ang dami nila doon.

tWicked I got DJ eric. I think i have shared my experience na (i will update my blog nga) if you backread. I can recommend but with warning kase i dont think he was there at my wedding and i expected him to be there. But to be fair, they were playing from i think 4pm up to end of the wedding which was around 11:30pm. songs were good at the cocktails/reception but not too impressed with the party songs so  maybe just be strict with your list of songs.

Hi tWicked! - our date is 12.13.14 and you're so right!! - They do have a new package for Boracay and the rates are all in!  No more oot fees and wala na rin hotel   Too bad we have booked our P/V na!  Sayang!    I still love my chosen P/V don't get me wrong, but to think that you do not have to worry about flying them and putting them into a hotel, laking bawas nun sa stress!

@shegie_285: we are looking at La Carmela kasi nga mura kaso Amanda said let me quote her: "they have cheap rooms but their cheaper ones arent too nice at all" i think she is referring to boracay courtyard which is sister hotel/inn of La Carmela actually I have stayed there before like way way before nung student days ko pa lang kasi uber tipid haha so dapat mura lang ang accommodation haha.. it's really simple as in yung parang sa puerto galera na mga rooms for rent ganon.. I will ask my H2B about this accommodation thing para makatipid din kami hehe.. pero yung mga officemates ko ay i will let them book theri own accommodation hehe kasi baka naman dyahe pag sa La Carmela ko sila nilagay diba hehe.. as in 99% of you haha di sinagot lahat ng guests' accommodation as in family lang.. I will let u know any updates. i am still slacking about planning hehe pupunta naman kami sa boracay sa july or august para sa ocular check & food tasting sa APS (Asya Premier Suites).
