Teen pregnancy? Please help me.
« on: January 16, 2013, 10:58:29 am »

Hi I'm 18 turning 19. I'm 2 months pregnant right now with my 3 yr bf.
I really don't know what happened, meron ako Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) so akala ko hindi ako mabubuntis. :( So I'm scared right now. And natatakot ako para sa bf ko, siya kasi mataas tingin ng tao sa family nila in our town. lalo na puro mga lawyers, attorneys and doctors mga angkan nila.

Hindi ko pa sinasabi sa bf ko kasi I don't know how to start it out. I'm ready to raise the baby. Natatakot lang ako kung pano makikisama and having my own family. I mean, yung may kahati ako sa bawat desisyon..

I have my own business, 45k a month ang kita ko don. I'm planning to expand it para lumaki pa ang kita ko gawa hindi ko alam kung spaat na ba yung ganon kita a month para mabuhay yung baby..

Please help me. What should I do first? What should I buy and tungkol sa pagbubuntis?

You need to begin your OB visits and start taking folic acid. Its critical to the development of your baby's brain and preventing spina bifida. Folic acid is only taken the first trimester

Yeah, i agree. No matter how difficult it is, tell your mom as soon as possible.. That's what you need to do first. and i'm sure your mom will help you with everything else (going to ob, etc.).

Parating may kakambal na blessing and bawat baby.  :) I'm sure everything will turn out much better than what you think. The first thing that you should do is take care of yourself ~ folic acid + OB visit.

Kaya mo yan sis! Update us!

(ganyan rin ako dati with my first pregnancy, di pa kami kasal ni bf of 2 years nun, pero kami ngayon at buntis ako sa pangalawang baby namin!)

Tell your family. That's the first thing you need to do. Masaktan man sila, pamilya mo parin sila kaya for sure, tutulungan ka nila sa situation mo and they will never judge you. Then pag nasabi mo na sa parents mo, you can tell your bf na din. Panagutan ka man nya or hindi, at least you have your family for support di ba. Good luck sis! :)

It's good to know that you are planning to keep your baby and you earn income.  Make a plan which is something like this:

1.  Inform your boyfriend.  After all, kayong 2 ang gumawa ng baby.
2.  Inform your parents.
3.  See an OB as soon as possible.
4.  Buy books on pregnancy like What to Expect when you are Expecting or research on sites like babycenter, Dr. Sears, kellymom (for breastfeeding), etc.
5.  Make plans with your boyfriend.  You do not need to get married or live together in order to raise your baby together.

Just to inspire you.  I have a friend who got pregnant at 17.  She was supposed to go to college na but deferred it because she gave birth.  After a year, she went to college.  The couple did not get married nor lived together but both their families supported them and they raised their daughter together.  They both finished college, set up their business and got married a few years after college.  They had another daughter.  The good thing is, they are still together and now, their eldest daughter has already graduated and is working na.

If you plan your life well, you too can have the same sort of happy ending.  Based on your kuwento naman, na at your young age, may income ka na 45k a month (hindi biro yan and you are earning more than most college grads), mukhang mature ka at may diskarte.  I think you will succeed.  :)

Good luck, sis.

Yup just like what everyone said, go and tell your mom and your bf. They NEED to KNOW :) and consider yourself lucky, since you have a good business at your young age. You seem to have a good head on your shoulder, I think na shock ka lang sa balita na pregnant ka since you werent expecting it.

You can handle this sis, no worries :)

^ i agree. Tell your mom, siya ang makakaintindi siya in this situation. Tell your bf too. karapatan niya din malaman yan. For now, don't think about kung sapat or kulang yung kinikita mo. Visit your OB for your condition. God bless you

Yung mga sasabihin ng tao, that's not important, isang buwan, dalawang buwan kang pag uusapan who cares? mamatay sila kaka chismis.

1st:  Pray for Divine Guidance.  That you think clearly & choose your words well when you talk to your bf, parents, etc about your unplanned pregnancy..

2nd:   Tell your boyfriend about your pregnancy.  Talk things over.  Nobody should force anybody into marriage just because of that  pregnancy.  You do not have to marry him, if you have doubts or if you are uncertain of his wholehearted commitment to  you.  Better you are a single mom, than a troubled spouse-distracted mom.

3rd:  Tell your parents too.  If you hear harsh words --  extend your sincere regret for  disappointing them.  But do not feel abandoned/alone even if they get angry -- bottom line, you are loved by them.  They are only after your happiness.

4th:  Start consulting and putting yourself under the care of an OBGyn.  Choose well.

5th:   Pregnancy is not a disease.  Take care of your health --  and there will be no reason to not go ahead with  your business plans.

Relax, girl! Don't be too stressed out about the pregnancy. Even with the PCOS you got pregnant, that's something wonderful!

No need to get stressed out about it. Talk to your parents  first that you've made up your mind you're keeping the baby. Then tell your boyfriend. And no, having a baby doesn't translate to moving in together and getting married to "save face". Hindi na uso nor practical yon. It's not the end of your world , it's the beginning of a brand new chapter as a MOM.Di ba dapat ipagsaya yon? Don't rush to get married to your BF just because you have a baby.at 19, marami ka pang makikilala, and one thing I can assure you, as romantic as it might seem now to marry your current BF, put in mind WALA PANG DIVORCE sa Pilipinas. People have a hard time going through ANULLMENT, and it costs a fortune as well. I know you love your BF, but this isn't exactly the end-all of your relationship. Even marriages with the best intentions in mind at no matter what age, shi*t still happens, di ba? kaya magpaka-practical ka na lang. If you're an only child, all the more your parents should get involved.

I agree you best go to an OB right away so you can start prenatal care as early as possible for the best outcome. You will need blood tests, vitamins and those need prescription.

What are your other plans? Should you want to continue school, you can still finish a semester before you give birth. it's good you have a business but don't set aside the chance of pursuing a college degree,it will open up more employment/business opportunities for you in the long run. Having a baby costs a whole lot of money in the long run, you know!

Most importantly, Pray for guidance.

Nga pala, even with PCOS, you might still want to ask your  OB for contraceptive options after you give birth. Hindi naman bawal magkaroon ng sex life, but just be more responsible/prepared for your sake and the baby's as well.

everything naman is Lord's plan :) do not worry, everything will turn out fine kapag ginawa mo yung tama.

i think 45k is enough. wag lang sobrang luho :) and be wise sa mga bibilhin. hindi naman kasi lahat ng baby things e magagamit nya :)

dont stress yourself too much because God has given you so many blessings to begin with. First, you have your boyfriend so you have a karamay all throughout what will happen (but of course you have to tell him first). Then you have your families who will support you through and through. Of course, they will get disappointed but you have proven yourself to be a focused go-getter being a businesswoman at age 18 so i think they know that you will be able to handle things. Lastly, you are able to earn, if it comes down to the worst scenario, you will be able to support you and your kid. So, dont fret. Tatagan ang loob dahil marami sa yong binigay na blessings for you to enter the world of parenting.

I agree with the advise sis aquacharly gave you!! Just plan everything out first then make your actions to solve it, so you may enjoy your pregnancy.
