Bakit ?

Nung babies pa sila, if my karga will make them feel better, kinakarga ko talaga. kasi pag laki nila, hindi na sila magpapakarga.

That's what everyone told me, not to carry her often, but since she was my first baby I always wanted to carry her! Especially when she was a newborn. It's only natural that they want to be held since they are used to being in a tight/enclosed space. Some people say let the baby cry which is fine too, but I couldn't stand to hear my newborn cry like that.

^^^sis m_lim my baby was like that too! She knew when I was standing and when I was sitting down, even if I was just standing still standing up. I don't know what comforts her more while I'm standing  :( Well now she's 10 months old, she doesn't need to be swayed to sleep anymore. I feel kinda sad na hahaha

Based on my experience, I don't believe na rin sa Sanay Sanay yan. But I admit, nag-worry ako dito sabayan pa ng comment ng neighbor namin na kaya raw Hindi Ko mabitawan baby Ko kahit Tulog eh sinanay ng Lola. Kaka-asar Lang since my mom helped me get through 4 weeks of hardship at pati siya napagod at napuyat sa pag alaga sa baby Ko tapos masisisi pa.

I experienced yang parang hostage ka talaga in your own house, sa room namin since around 5-6 weeks I couldn't put my baby down, Gising man o Tulog. I also can't help let my baby cry that much so whatever comforts him and make him stop crying, I do. But now I believe, it's just a phase. At 8 weeks for a few days now, my baby now sleeps on the bed at Hindi na sa chest Ko. Ang Sarap Lang ng feeling kasi I can do stuff na while he sleeps. I don't strain myself anymore and I can also sleep straight 2-3 hrs even more while he's feeding. Sometimes, I let him sleep on my chest pag mga afternoon nap kasi nami-miss Ko rin to haha :)

I agree yan din sinasabi ng tita ko sinanay daw si baby sa karga but babies need to be held pag ayaw naman nila ng karga they will cry. Like with my baby she want to be held always but there is this one time na karga ko sya but she kept on crying ipinasa ko sa iba kasi akala ko shes just uncomfortable with me pero hindi tumugil binalik sakin ng dad nya umiiyak pa rin binaba ko sa bed tumahimik apparently she just wants to play pala. ::) clueless lang ako sa gusto ni baby

Adolf Hitler, according to books, was not carried when he was a baby.  Go figure.

Babies need to be held.  Period.

I never believed in withholding warmth and affection to a baby because of some old wives' tale na "baka masanay sa karga."  Go hold your babies.  They will be babies only once.

first thing that you should know: this too shall pass :)

you are luckier than i was because you are able to post here. i did not get to open my laptop until a month after we went home because my baby is such a voracious feeder. minsan every hour ang demand. since i breastfeed, wala talagang iba na pwede mag-take ng place ko. i had to be awake and available for her. my only breaks were bathroom breaks and meals. occassionally, the yaya, my husband or my mom would take turns in cradling her but the bulk of the job was mine. like you, i found myself crying several times from exhaustion, frustration, anger, depression and the sheer pain of breastfeeding.

but it passes.

the way i survived was like this, i told myself, just survive the next 4 hours. after 4 hours, the next 4 hours ulit. it was a challenge to myself to not lose my grip during that time. afterwards, it was 6 hours, then 12 then day to day. before i knew it, a month had passed and i became ready to face guests and visitors again. i was really sensitive the first month kasi and i refused to entertain anyone except family (na hindi mapigilan pumunta). i am so grateful that i did that and i survived and i did not leave my child in the care of a yaya or another family member kasi when i went back to work, i really missed her. still do when i'm at the office. these moments are blessings, just focus on that sis :)

i didn't read the whole tread, just wanted to give a tip na baka mag work para sa iba. nung elementary ako, i stayed with my lola at kami nag aalaga sa mga anak ng aunty & uncle ko kasi nasa office sila.
