Quick question though, I was reading a site:  http://thefreelancepinoy.com/freelancing-tips/taxes-for-pinoy-freelancers-bir-requirements-and-registration -> and this freelancer wasn't required to register with DTI.  She directly registered her business (which is her name) with BIR na.  I'm kinda confused with that because a lot of the blog commenters said that their RDOs na they still have to register with DTI. Pero case in point, this freelancer wasn't required by her RDO.  Sana ayus ayusin naman kasi ng BIR yung tax system for freelancers.

^ Yup, as mentioned, iba-iba kasi ang setup ng freelancer's business. Yung sa akin pareho kay freelancepinoy - walang DTI. Pareho rin kami ng set of taxes na binabayaran.

I've asked BIR about it. Simply said,

You don't need DTI kung Full Name mo = Business Name. Your full name will appear on receipts.

You need DTI if Full Name mo is different from the Business Name. The Business Name will appear on receipts.

Of course I have chosen no DTI para bawas babayaran at mga proseso. But others would still want a business name, so in that case kailangan nila mag-undergo ng DTI process.

Hehe, about the computations simple pa yan and I've used Optional Deduction. Mas complicated na ng konti kung may additional income ka pang idedeclare (maybe from an offline business) at kung joint filing and kids, tapos Itemized Deduction pa ang pinili. Sa akin madali rin because I'm enrolled sa BIR eFPS, kaya bahala na ito magcompute.

ako hihiram muna sa kabilang account. yun nga lang medyo inconvenient kasi galing sa kabilang bangko pa ang kukunin yung pera. tapos deposit ko online, kasi online ang bayaran.

yun nga, first time kong naexperience na more than 36 hours na galing sa paypal. ilang linggo na rin kasi na next day ko nakukuha ang funds dito lalo na noong nagloloko pa ang BPI LFT.

Mas mabilis dumating ang funds nun, if not sila na ang pinakamabilis. Withdraw 8-9 AM Wednesday, pasok ng Thursday lunch.

Wala na rin daw incoming remitttance fee charge.

Some odeskers corrected me about the charges and all. Kasi sabi ko may incoming remittance fee na P200.

Well, some tried LFT-BDO anyway, and were happy to see na walang charge.

Mag-o-open rin ako ng account ko doon and try this out.

Pero sana pa rin may mag-confirm na walang charges. Turns out na mukhang waived na ang charge sa bank na yun for several weeks na.

@ freelancer_babe,  malamang magiging complicated na sa akin   ...since I register it as a company name...the problem is I still need a municipal permit...before I can go to BIR...so additional expenses pa...

Tapos, the problem pa ngayon is kumuha ako ng barangay permit, pero hanggang baranggay lang ako at hindi na nag pursue sa munisipyo... .kasi parang soft launch lang yun..and may nag advise din sa akin na huwag daw muna ako  kumuha since nagsisimula pa lang naman...


And one more thing pa..napaisip na rin ako kung paano magiging arrangement nito, kasi dapat ihiwalay ko  yung odesk income and yung sa company name...

tama ba ang understanding ko na if you use your name, no income means no tax, but if I use the company name, No income but  you will still pay the municipal permit as well as the tax?

kaya siguro from Philippines ang hires nila is because alam nila na efficient tayo and very hard working

if it's an hourly job and verified client naman i don't think you'll have any problem with them
