Fixed priced?

Sa una, tignan mo kung ok lang na mabayaran ka ng $20 sa amount ng work na pinapagawa na nakalagay sa job description. Baka naman kasi napakaraming work tapos $20 lang ang gusto nyang ibayad, eh di huwag mo na lang applyan.

Pangalawa, kung ok lang naman then, siguro ang magandang gawin ay try mong i-estimate kung ilang oras mo magagawa ang work based sa job description tapos multiply mo sa hourly rate mo. Kaya kung mukhang mga 5 hours at most matatapos ang job tapos $5/hr ang rate mo, then yung 5 hours x $5/hr = $25 na ang bidding price mo. Ok lang kung i-bid mo ng mas mataas kaysa sa budget na nilagay niya. Pero kung iniinsist ng client na $20 lang ang gusto nyang ibayad, then it's best to walk away from the offer. Baka pagsisihan mo lang ito sa huli dahil sa demand ng pagawa.

Another thing to note, kapag fixed priced - the standard is, 30% to 50% upfront payment. Since maliit ang halaga, then you could get the remaining payment pag natapos na lahat ng work.

*** Di guaranteed ang pay sa fixed priced jobs. It's as good as working with the client outside of odesk except that, walang kang job history at feedback na makukuha sa odesk profile mo sa work.

Thanks for the tip. New lang kasi ako sa odesk and I want to get a job para naman magkaroon na ko ng ratings. Mas maswerte ako outside odesk (earning at least 12k monthly for rewriting articles) pero I wanna try odesk din.

Nagbid ako ng $25 tapos budget ni client is $33. Data extraction lang naman siya from an ebook to excel. Pag ba mag naghire sakin will I be notified through email or sa Messages section ng Odesk?

Sabagay bago ka pa lang kasi nag-e-establish ng history sa odesk. Pwede na rin siguro yung $25 para lang makuha mo siya. Your choice naman though.

Maganda yung may multiple streams ng income. Ang maganda sa odesk, may work history ka na pwedeng i-build doon para humanap ng ibang clients.

With regards sa messages, ang notification is via email AND messages section sa odesk.

Hi mga sis...eto na naman ako...may acttive candidate ako for interview mamaya..kanina kinausap na ako..sabi ko wala akong webcam (dahil nga sa unfortunate incident ko noon using a webcam) tapos sabi nya resked daw tonight with a webcam. Medyo natatakot na akong mag webcam eh, may mga na-experience ba kayong ganito? I mean yung initil interview with webcam talaga? or madalang lang ang nag-rerequire ng webcam?

^ Do you think the project requires a webcam? Read the job description ng project and think kung kailangan naman talaga. If you can, pwede mo bang i-post ang permalink/URL ng project na yun so we could all assess it?

If no, then most likely the client should not insist. Baka maulit na naman ang bad experience mo. Sa akin lang, better safe than sorry.

Depende kasi rin sa skills - sa akin di talaga required ang webcam and I would think that there's something fishy if client required me to use one. I'm not sure sa ibang skills. So far, I guess there's no heavy reason to use webcam, unless talagang kailangan mong humarap sa ibang tao online during the course of the project - pero tingin ko bihira lang naman talaga ito.

Might as well withdraw na lang yung  application, okay lang bang sabihin ko ke client yung reason? sa tingin mo hindi kaya sya ma-ooffend? kung ituloy nya ang interview without a webcam then okay, kung hindi naman, hanap na lang [textspeak!] ako ng ibang client.Or maari ba nya akong i-flag dahil duon? Medyo tagilid, wala pa sya ni isang contract pero verified na payment, sabagay yung dati, with good yung standing pa yun.. sis pm ko yung link.

Magkaiba kasi ang skills na target ko sa odesk to yours, so I was hoping someone here sa thread who is doing the same project that you are want could share their thoughts. But I still have noted some few warnings about the project sa PM.

You could still write a nice thank you letter sa client, telling him you have changed your mind and are withdrawing your application. Tell good reasons - like suddenly getting hired by someone; or you could be frank and would rather be honest in telling the client that you are not after interviews that require webcam because you think the job doesn't require one. Nope, you cannot be flagged for withdrawing your application or not replying to interviews - you can just be flagged if you fail to deliver project expectations, but this is a worry while you are working for a client than when you are still applying to projects.

*** Dami kong interviews ngayon at project invitations because I made my profile oDesk searchable. Pero di ko na rin mareplyan agad kahit thank you letter man lang. My profile is still active though.

Mga sis...first ko ma encounter ang ganitong client...ano assessment nyo dito? hindi ko maintindihan..I am torn between 2 lovers..he he...pero pagbibigyan ko ang hiling ni client..

I applied for a project manager, tapos kasama dun eh nag offer din ako  if interested din ba si client to outsource the project instead...I sent him some service package...we  came up with $30 for 25 approved blog comments...pero napapansin ko padami ng padami yung requirement which is hindi kasama dun sa cost computation ko...so I still agree kasi my primary reason is to establish relationship with the client kasi marami syang opening that pwede nya ma outsource sa akin. Nag deal na kami dun..I thought sasabihin nya na i hire na kita...pero hindi pa rin...humirit ulit

Sabi ganito "can we do a sample job for just 10 backlinks?" , sagot ko naman "We don't do sample job but if you want to evaluate how we do it. Here are our sample blog comments"

Tapos sabi naman ok...pero humirit ulit ..research daw muna ako ng nung 25 blogs and  "after i approve them i will provide you with the anchor text and comment to post, so all you have to do is copy and paste it"

Since ganun ang sinabi nya ..ang sagot ko naman "If that's the case, we are not doing blog commenting but rather we are only doing research, right? Basically doing that means you do not trust us enough that we can provide you with quality comments "

Ang sagot naman sa akin : "every seo worker does the same procedure .i dont care who the comapny is all backlinks website must be approve. it is our procedure has nothing to do with trust
will you follow our company policy yes or no?"

since atat ako sa project..di yes na lang ...and sabi ko sige i comply ko yung requirements. Tapos sabi ko...if we can close the deal now...ibig ko sabihin ..i hire nya na ako..pero ang sabi nya tsaka na pag na approve nya yung list of websites....ideally dapat i hire nya muna ako bago ako gagawa...

Tingnan mo nga naman ....nakalusot ako sa sample pero dito hindi..lol...pero okay lang din...

Pero yung feedback ni client...very okay talaga...kaya hesitant din ako...sa tingin nyo?

10 backlinks tapos ikaw pa maghahanap sis? naku time consuming yan sis. kasi sakin yung client na nagpoprovide ng links at magpopost nalang ako

^^ medyo sigurista lang yung client mo sis virt_train. He/she's not after the quality of the blog comments but the number of sure backlinks (pag na-approve na yung comment) and their quality (depends on where they are from, etc). I think normal lang yan, he/she's paying for the number of links kasi.


Ako din, pa-rant ng konti. Na-stress ako sa client ko kasi gusto niya akong gawin manghuhula. Pag may task, like "create a video for this client" or "coordinate with this person to write articles for this client", gusto niya alam ko na agad ang details kahit wala siyang binibigay? eh pano kaya yun, siya yung ka-meeting ng mga clients? Ang kulit lang.

Question lang mga sis di ko kasi alam san ako kukuha ng sagot sa KB ng odesk baka lang may alam kayo. Regarding IP address. Meron kasi akong nakuhang contract recently which is sending emails unfortunately minsan di ko magawa, inapply ko to nung marami pa akong oras eh hehe. Pwede kayang e access yung account ko sa odesk sa ibang lugar papagamit ko sana sa friend ko, konting tulong lang sa kanya at para na din ma experience nya kung papano mag online job kasi gusto nya na din mag odesk. Ang problem ko is baka ma question ako ng odesk na sa ibang IP ako gumagawa. Pagagawin ko lang sya sa oras na di ko ginagamit yung account ko. Possible po kaya yun?

^ i think walang rule sa odesk na bawal ibang IP.. ang rule nila is isang account isang tao but regardless kahit paiba iba IP, walang problema dun. kasi what if lumipat ka ng bahay diba? what if nasa bakasyon ka? mag iiba talaga IP mo kasi iba connection gamit mo. hindi naman pwede na buong buhay mo ay iisang location ka lang at iisang IP.

ang alam ko sis bawal yung pagamit sa iba ang account. pero yung sa ibang IP walang problema dun. kasi ako kapag umaalis minsan, nagwowork pa din ako sa odesk and nasa province ako nun syempre ibang IP. also lumipat ako ng house when i got married and nag iba din syempre IP ko nun.

^ Yup pwede sa ibang IP tulad ng nasabi ng ibang mga sisses rito. Madalas ko ring dinadala ang work ko  sa labas tapos sa Starbucks o kaya sa GotHub ako nagwo-work. Pag-uwi ko iba na naman ang issue na IP address ng PLDT sa akin dahil di ako naglogin buong araw.

Ang hindi pwede ay yung ipagamit sa iba ang account, tulad rin ng nasabi.
