still wala pa din ako nakuha new client at sad thing yun nagiiisa kong regular client eh wala nang task na binibigay sakin, like this week 15hours :'(

sana makakuha na ako ng new client that will give me regular task kahit part-time lang basta solid 20hours per week...frustrating ang hirap humanap ng client now a days unlike last year ang bilis ko nakakakuha ng client lagi.

haist..goodluck sa mga katulad ko looking for client...hope this week will be better one :)

i wish i have all the time in the world para magawa lahat ng tasks ko. nakakalungkot lang kasi I have to prioritize my kids talaga. hayyy...natambak ang work ko ngayong week, nagkasabay sabay pati pagiging demanding ng baby ko sumabay din kaya yun out of 15 hours sa isang client bumagsak ako sa 4 hours lang! nakakaiyak!  :'(

Bawi na lang this week sis sether!

Last week naman sobrang hassle yung Smart Bro ko. From slow to wala talaga ang connection. Sana this week maayos na.

Hay, work-hunting mode din ako on oDesk. Status of two of my local clients are let's just say, 'on the rocks', and then yung isa kong client on oDesk namamahinga na naman - la pa tasks for the past week and this week... Yung one regular client ko naman andyan pa din, but still - magpapasukan na, tinatawag na ko ng mga school supplies, shoes, uniform, etc.! Magbibirthday pa yung daughter ko, so kailangan kayod galore. :)

In looking for clients. ilan yung projects na ina apply nyo and when is the best time for you to apply?

Sa  akin, I always aim for 3 projects per day  and normally nag apply ako between  12 am to 2 am, kasi normally heto yung working mode ng mga clients and mabilisang pag sagot sa cover letter para nasa top 10 applicants.. and most of the time ..sa business services ako nag focus...

^ Ayos, may time to apply ka sis. Ako wala, hehe.

If I'm full of work, then di na ako nag-apply. Kasi I know I'll end up declining each and every job that I've applied to. Sayang the effort.

But as much as possible I use all the available slots for the best chances.

Pag marami na masyadong applicants I just pass up the opportunity or apply later kung may time.

^ ^  oo sis..may konti pa akong time..hindi pa rin naman full and lead generation na rin for my business...hindi man ako makuha at least na introduce ko yung business ko...for sure nakatatak na sa isipan ni client yan, who knows pwede ako balikan :) which is nangyari rin sa akin..pero hindi ko pinatulan yung offer super baba kasi...

always aiming for 3  clients na i manage ko..as much as possible ayoko na mag full-time sa client...say 20-20-10 hours per week..

Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread. I finally decided to write on this thread kasi I need your insights sana po. I've been an oDesk member for a year already pero I used to be the client. After exactly 1 year, I applied sa oDesk as a CSR, and nagulat na lang ako when I got hired. My job description is to answer tweets lang and emails from customers and less than 10 hrs/week yung contract. After a week, my client created a new contract pero the same job title and description pa din pero he changed my rate to $5/hour excluding fees and 25 hours na now yung weekly limit ko. So I was really happy and motivated to work kasi I enjoy it naman and ok naman din yung $5 for someone with no experience. Pero yung rate ng isang team member namin eh $6 for software testing + $1 for every bug reported. Yung nangyari po, ako palagi pinapa-work niya, i reported around 20+ bugs na ata kasi bagong gawa pa lang pala yung software. Tapos he asked me if it's okay with me to write contents for the software's website sabi ko ok naman. Pero andami kong ginagawa eh, twitter + facebook + app description + guides how to use the app and for testers +  software testing / test cases + website content writing and ngayon gusto pa niya in HTML format na kasi dati sa word ko lang ginagawa eh. Parang lahat na responsibilities eh parang sa akin na ata napunta and wala ng work yung ibang team members namin except sa graphic designer. I'm really thankful I got this job pero parang nawala yung motivation ko eh. Sorry po if medyo mahaba. Thank you na din sa mga sasagot.  :)

^sis why not talk to your client na and tell him you feel like you're over loaded na...yun dati kong client when I told him that he immediately increase my time and rate ;D kasi sis if papangit naman yun performance mo dahil hindi kana motivated parang lose-lose situation diba, mawawala si client and panget na feedback.

@ orangegirl , 3 things to ponder:

- Be thankful for that big responsibility. Ibig sabihin lang that
the client trusted you so much. Take advantage of that
opportunity and maximize that skills. Become the best on that
  and money will follow.

- Never ever compare yourself to other people. Kasi if you
keep doing that you will never be satisfied.

- Implement time management para may balance. Read about
4 Quadrants time management by  Stephen Covey.

^ i agree with sis virt_train. if your client gives you more responsibilities, it means he trusts you and finds you more reliable than others. it also reflects the quality of your work. sa'yo niya pinapagawa kasi you're doing a better job. sa odesk, flexibility is an asset. if you have a lot of skills, di ka mawawalan ng trabaho. so habang nagsisimula ka pa lang magbuild-up ng feedback, magsimula ka na din mag-ipon ng skills.

and never compare yourself with your teammates, i super agree. ganun naman talaga eh, minsan fair, minsan hindi.  don't feel bad if mas malaki yung rate na binigay niya dun sa isang teammate mo. you both agreed to your rate naman diba. if you feel you're overworked and underpaid, you can tell your client about your sentiments. baka iincrease pa niya yung hours mo or yung rate mo :)

@orangegirl,

you may ask an increase in rate if you feel so - rather than waiting for the client to think about it. baka kasi wala naman sa isip nya na taasan ang rate mo. so you have to ask, rather than wait.
