hi sis jelly_ace..almost the same pala na-experience natin..tama ka talagang nakaka-trauma..ako rin nag stop ako sa pagseasearch after that incident..until now hindi pa rin ako naglalakas loob na mag-try ulit. Same nung sa yo, yung sa experience ko hindi rin nakikita ang mukha ng interviewer.. Pero yung account  nya..verified na ng odesk..may ga 35contracts na yung client and malaki na rin yung amount sa payment history nya..magaganda rin yung feedback na nabasa ko. so hindi talaga natin masasabi kahit verified account na sya kung gagawa ng hindi maganda...be wary na lang mga sissies kung required ang webcam..huwag nyong iturn on hanngat hindi nyo nasisiguradong legit..

Paypal exchange rate: March 5, 2013 9 AM (assume na i-wi-withdraw agad sa Philippine bank pagka-credit sa Paypal)

Difference = odesk exchange rate - Paypal exchange rate = 0.0104 PHP

oDesk = 39.6935 x 500 = 19,846.75 PHP
Paypal = 39.6831 x 500 = 19,841.55 PHP

Diff = 5.20 PHP

Haay...nabawasan regular earnings ko. Na.suspend kasi isang client ko, mga 3 weeks na. Sayang, 40 hours per week pa naman yun. Di man lang nagrereply sa emails kung babalik ba sya or hindi. Tiningnan ko yung details nya, hindi na verified payment method nya
Buti na lang hindi affected (na suspend) yung buong financial account ko. Rant lang ng konti.

^^ nangyari din sakin yan before. nasuspend yung account ni client because the CC that he uses for Odesk expired. Naayos din naman agad ni client. Ok din na ganun talaga kahigpit ang Odesk when it comes to verification ng payments nina client kase that would assure us that we will be paid, plus dapat lang maghigpit sila. after all, malaki din kita nila sa atin. sana maayos na agad yan ng client mo.

Hi sis..meron bang IT related ang job dito? May marerecomend ba kayong short course na pwdeng kunin naming non-IT related ang Degree? May nabanggit sa akin dati kaso hindi ko na matadaan oce napasa yung exam may certificate and high paying naman daw job at in deand. Sobrang nakalimutan ko na talaga what company and ano yung course outline. Thank you sis.

May mga nag-cha-charge sa odesk ng mataas sa IT, higher as $15 per hour and above. Merong ding mga midrange from $5 to $15 per hour at merong ding mga low range ang charge na less than $5 per hour to as low as even $1 per hour. I'm talking about third-world rates pa yan, kasi mataas na mataas ang charge ng mga taga-first world countries ($33/hr for writing jobs, $50 to $100/hr for programming and other technical jobs)

Kung gusto mo ng high paying, tama ang iniisip mo, target those IT skills. In particular punta ka sa programming. I suggest learning one or more of these technologies: PHP, Ruby on Rails, Facebook apps development, mobile development, Javascript/JQuery/C#...

Sa mga computer schools mas mainam kunin ang mga ito, as they don't require any specific degree to start. Learning the skill is not just sufficient - if you really want to charge high, be very very good at the programming skill that you have learned.

STI, Informatics, AMA... established na ang mga yan. I guess merong silang 30-day courses. Some of the subjects I've recommended might not be offered by any schools - such as those that involve Facebook apps and mobile development. Just stick with the subjects I've recommended. Merong mga tinuturo ang computer schools pero di naman pala masyadong in-demand online (example: Visual Basic knowledge - you're better off getting hired locally or work abroad for this skill).

I have to warn you though, na kahit after matapos mo ng 30 days yung course, you may not be prepared pa rin to take odesk jobs. Karamihan pa rin dyan actual work experience ang hinahanap. To gain work experience, you will have to create sample of portfolio of work, or even do volunteer projects for others, or even do freelance work for small companies in your place...

In oDesk you are not required to show proof or certification that you have learned the course. Pwede ka pa ngang magself-study. I personally know a ruby on rails programmer na nakatapos ng commerce who made it well sa freelancing inside and outside of odesk for several years - self-study lang ang ginawa nya.

Nagusap kami ng isa kong regular client and we agreed to end my contract na...this really makes me sad kasi I've been working for him for 8months..hindi regular yun pagbigay nya ng task like twice a week lang  pero sulit kasi mataas yun rate ko sa kanya (sya yun pinakamataas kong rate)...

Nagcheck na ako sa Odesk and looking for new job pero pansin ko sobrang dami spam or maybe kasi weekend kaya wala pa magagandang job.

I'm 2months pregnant and need ko talaga ng new client since two clients nalang natira sakin, isang regular part-time job and isang fixed term contract. Usapan namin ni husband by 8 months tigil na ako muna ng work kaya gusto ko sana sagadin yun time ko right now..I'm thinking to lower my rate a bit para naman mataas ang chance to get an immediate client pero undecided ako kasi baba ang market value ko pero naisip ko madami naman na mas experienced sakin na yun rate high low din...

Haizt..I need to polish my profile  and review how to make a good cover letter again
