I'm filling out an investment application form last night and meron part dun that asked my source of income. As an independent contractor, what would you indicate --- salary pa rin ba o service fee? I don't think salary will be appropriate...

I saw a post on a different forum, he's an online freelancer too and was applying for a bank loan (pambili din ng bahay). He has ITR and sufficient bank statements supporting his income (and mukhang malaki income niya judging from the house that he wants to get), but still he got denied by 3 banks Di pa daw ata familiar ang mga banks sa nature ng work natin.

@ shinta , pwede rin mag try ng in-house financing..medyo mataas nga lang yung rate ...pero yung chances of getting approved mas mabilis kesa sa bank..

I think they are familiar, or else why would they put requirements for self-employed (it has long been there in many banks)?  Yun lang banks see freelancers as risky business kasi pwedeng silang mawalan ng income anytime. It's possible to file no-income months kasi sa BIR (and you don't pay any tax for no-income months).

Banks demand a lot from freelancers and businesses than those who are already into full-time employment.

sad nga nito. di din ganun kadali maghingi ng increase from some clients.

@virt_train, yung nga ang option namin ngayon, naghahanap na lang kami ng swak sa budget at kayang bayaran in 5 years.

@freelancer_babe, I think self-employed is for business owners at nonsalaried professionals, which is applicable din sating online freelancers. pero either they see it as unstable source of income or not familiar with how it works. businesses can also be unstable pero tinatanggap nila. may bank official din na nagsabi sa kanya na talagang di pa daw accepted ng bangko pag online freelancing. pero baka case to case basis din.

Mga sis tulong naman, me project po kasi ako with a UK client. I need to find certain group of people from UK using a people finder tool. Problem is wala akong alam na website kasi mas familiar ako sa US maghanap ng leads with contact number using 411.com. Is there any website that you can recommend for UK? Yung free lang po. Thanks in advance po.

^^yes sis, not that easy lalo na if client from US coz theyre still in recession. I asked my client for an increase last week, from $5 to $8, I explained to her the exchange rate issue, good thing pumayag naman.

Nagpost nga ako sa Forum eh asking them to bring back the Green in Odesk site....promise I don't see the point of changing colors eh pede naman hindi diba? Hindi ko makita relevance...

yes sis hehe, maybe you can try asking 3 months after I didnt ask na increase from my Australian clients since okay naman exchange rate natin with AUD.
