true that. napapa-isip nga ako ngayon about sa future namin as freelancers. pareho kasi kami ni hubby. while those who have regular jobs, tumataas ang sweldo at position nila, tayo naman medyo na-sstuck or worse, bumaba pa because of a lot of factors (exchange rate, competitions, etc.)

anyway, napansin nyo ba nagbago na ang odesk tool? instead of hours worked, remaining hours na ang dinidisplay.

oo nga sis e.. ano ba yan?! hirap naman.. >.<"

I'm using the new website, too, not much difference naman. May link sa taas "Return to the old website". Pero ngayon may problema ako sa firefox and chrome, I can't click some buttons (messages, dropdown menu, help). Pero sa IE okay naman. I already contacted support pero di din nila na-solve.

hi mga sis. I am interested in seeking work from home sa odesk. i decided to resign from BPO this feb and want to focus on my daughter and husband since wala ako yaya, and at the same time gusto ko rin na kumita para may income pa rin.

I just signed up last night with Odesk, pero kinukumpleto ko pa profile ko. any tips mga sis?

^^automatic update po siya last Thursday. :)

when you roll over your mouse sa oDesk icon sa taskbar, as sis shinta said "instead of hours worked, remaining hours na ang dinidisplay". :)

~~~
i'm using old site pa rin. malimit kasi mangyari na kapag nagbago sila ng settings, nagkakaroon ng problem sa new one. I know they're still trial and error. so kapag nag-notice na sila ng aalisin na yung old settings, that's means 99% na yung success rate ng bago, dun pa lang ako nag-swi-switch. :)
^ akala ko nga din dahil lang sa new website yung problem ko. pero i switched back to the old website, ganun pa din. buti na lang ok sa IE, so I can still switch between accounts and naa-access ko na messages ko. weird nga, chineck ko naman browser settings, etc, lahat nung sinabi ng support na i-check, okay naman. nag-give up na nga sakin  yung support. haha.
^haha... may time na talagang nag-gi-give-up ang support.
nangyari na sa akin po yan.
yung oDesk tools ko kasi di ko makita ang graph nung akin pati na rin yung sa mga co-team members ko.  :o tapos walang profile pictures din. nag-ask na ako sa support kung anong problem. wala sila mahanap na issue. hanggang sa i-close na nila yung ticket. ;D
pinabayaan ko na ganun ang settings ng oDesk tools ko. :(
this week ko lang nalaman ang problema. haha ;D
ang problem dapat pala malapad yung oDesk tools. makitid kasi yung akin around 2inches lang kaya ang tendency ma-hi-hide ang ibang features. nung pinalapad ko yung oDesk tools size dun pa lang lumabas yung graphs at pictures! haha...;D
^ hehe. ako din feeling ko browser ko may problema pero di ko makita kung ano. kaya hinayaan ko na din, okay naman sa IE eh.
mga sis, medyo OT, pero since pareho naman tayo mga freelancers, meron ba dito kumuha ng housing loan? bank financing or pag-ibig.
balak na kasi namin kumuha ni hubby but since we're not considered regularly employed, ang hirap mag-submit ng documents to prove our capacity to pay. yung pag-ibig naman, di na namin tinuloy kasi ang dami ding hinahanap na documents.
pa-share naman po ng experiences nyo at kung ano ginawa nyo to get a loan. thanks!
^ filing taxes sa BIR is required to get approved sa pagibig housing loans. yun nga lang kahit maraming documents sa pagibig, they often have the best interest rates and longer payment terms. also you need to be an active member sa pagibig rin to avail their housing loan.
for the banks, kung walang ITR na maipakita, there's actually another way - palakihin ang bank deposits and investments. usually kung malaki ang deposits, malaki ang chances na maapprove sa bank loans. i'm talking about putting 6-digit figure or more bank deposits, investments sa UITF and mutual fund products and even SDAs. usually kung ganito the banks treat you quite differently from the rest of their clients and actually sila pa yung nag-iinvite na magloan nang malaki (housing loans, business loans, personal loans) at mabigyan ng preapproved credit card na mataas ang credit limit. there are a lot of cases na hindi na nila titignan ang ITR dito kundi yung amount of money invested deposits at investments na lang ng accounts.
kung kukuha rin kayo ng unit sa developer, you might want to check out yung in-house financing. an ITR would still prove your capability to pay, pero try nyo ring i-check kung ok lang sa kanila ang bank statements to prove yung paying capacity ninyo.
lastly - and I know some freelancers do - save up and pay in cash... pero yun lang may complications rin ang pag-own ng land - may cases rin kasi kung saan may nirerequire yung ITR.
^ oonga sis, ITR talaga primary requirement and sadly wala kami nun. in-house is another option if we don't have the necessary documents, pero sabi nung agent na nakausap ko, mataas ang rate nun compared to bank and pag-ibig.
we can't pay in cash naman at kung mag-iipon kami, heaven knows kung kelan namin maiipon yung amount. baka yung 1M worth na bahay eh double na yung price by the time makaipon kami. we want sana this year, makapagstart na kami.
fired up na nga si hubby, apply na ng apply sa odesk  :) ang sarap din kasing isipin na makakabili kami ng bahay using our online income. pero pinoproblema ko pa yang mga docs na yan.
buhay freelancers, mahirap na masarap. hehe  :)
^ yup it's not really easy to apply loans for freelancers without any proof of income - pinakadependable talaga ang ITR.
probably the easiest way is through ITR. anyway, by law required naman kasi yan (despite where the money goes - ouch!)
also you can use the ITR to get easily approved for visa applications to first world countries.
malalaking amount kasi ang housing loan, so approval for this isn't really that easy. banks, pagibig and other lending institutions do ask for more.
I'm also filing my ITR sis, because of those above reasons. And because I don't want to be criminally liable not filing it. Pikit mata na lang kung saan pupunta ang pera.  :P Come to think of it, even us would benefit from paying that tax.
A tip though, you can control the income that you declare in your ITR. But take note BIR do audits, so your personal "visible" assets and lifestyle should match what you declare.
^sinasabi ko nga din yan kay hubby, kasi may mga times na kailangan talaga ng ITR. pero nagkakatamaran lagi pag aasikasuhin na. hehe
^ Lumalakad ang panahon sis. getting an ITR takes time - years. For example to get approved for a housing loan in BDO for self-employed, kailangan may 3 years ITR and even audited financial statements. BPI is much more lax - 2 years ITR ang hinihingi plus audited financial statements.
Even that, having a fat bank account in the bank where you want to loan helps greatly. You have credit cards na rin ba sis? Good credit history also helps get easily approved sa banks. Some people get credits cards in the hopes that they get approved to bigger loans in the future. That alone would help you get approved and these banks get relaxed at those financial requirements.
So, if you really want a house this year then it's either you pay in cash or go for that expensive in-house financing - hopefully you are charging above-market rates in odesk (and offering above-market quality work). But if you want to pay lesser interest over time, then go the ITR way or the very fat bank account way after some few years.
^ thanks sis, I learned a lot. I do have credit cards (although 2 na lang minamaintain ko ngayon) and good credit history ako, never akong na-delay ng payment whether sa loan or sa credit purchases. But we're also exploring other options since gusto nga namin talaga this year. Sana one of those options, pwede
^hehe...OT din po. :)
may investment din ako na may turnover sa 2015. di ko pa sure if in-house financing or bank loan ang pipiliin ko. but for the meantime, savings muna ang aatupagin ko para kung ano man piliin ko may maipapakita akong bank statement.  ::)
~~~
hindi na OT...:)

hindi na pala pwede mag-dl ng oDesk tools hanggang hindi nagsa-sign-in.  ::)

anyway, di ko pa type gamitin yung bagong look ni odesk. masyadong colorful sa paningin ko  ;D

^ thanks sis sether

naku pasensya na mga sis kung naging OT :) but if you have info re: freelancers getting a house loan, pm nyo na lang ako. we're exploring all options possible para magkaron ng sariling bahay

para on topic ulit, ayoko ng bagong odesk tool kasi hourly yung display, unlike before hati sa 0.17/.03/.50/.67/.83. actually wala naman difference kung tuloy tuloy lang ang trabaho, pero mas gusto ko yung dati. mas namomonitor ko if I'm spending too much time on a certain task.
