Hi mga sis!

Karerport ko [textspeak!] sa Odesk today tungkol sa naghhire sa akin sa Odesk.
Last last week pa nya ako inenterview.. Lagi siya naghahanap ng sample..
siyempre ko bigay naman.. kasi lagi nya sinasabi tatapusin lang nya yung photoshoot
nila.. at today chinat nya ko sa skype.. nanghihingi na naman ng sample.. sabi ko kaya kong
gawin yung pinakita nyang link.. mejo nakahalata na ko.. sabi ko hindi na ko magbibigay ng sample..
kung gusto nyang gawin ko yun ihire na nya ako.. minura ba naman ako.. hahaha
tas tinggal na nya ko sa contacts nya sa skype.. tinignan ko yung profile nya.. hindi pa verified yung payment nya.. ayon.. tama ang hinala ko.. kaya nireport ko na lang siya sa odesk.. hehe

hindi naman ako naiinis sahil sa ginawa nyang yon.. ang kinaiinisan ko.. kapag magkahat kami.. kapag siya may kailangan todo daldal siya.. kapag ako na magsasalita lagi sinasabi I'M BUSY.. haha tas CHECK THE TIME BEFORE YOU CHAT ME.. hahaha parang baliw lang.. share lang.. nakakatawa na nakakainis.. hehe

At isa pa inend ng odesk yung contract ko dun sa long term client ko.. pwede pa la yun? hindi kasi namin masyado ginagamit yung account na yon..

Anyways, sana lahat tayo ay magkaroon ng maraming work at good client this 2013

^ yep sis. beware of clients asking for samples. 99% of the time they are after free work.

kasi yung sample work nasa odesk portfolio mismo, so there should be no need to create additional samples tailored for a client.

unprofessional naman yan sis. nagmumura pa. control freak yan ah - gusto nya ata siya ang masusunod.     technically he's a client, not your employer. 

i do pressure clients to hire me. no hire, no work. most of the time mas gusto ko yung hourly ang billing but if I accept fixed priced jobs, pinapadown ko sila agad 50% of my bid - even if they are long term clients.

oo red flag yung unverified payment ng client. sigurado ako marami ring naloko nun.

ako naman ok [textspeak!] hingan ng sample.. kasi madalas naman sa mga client ko hihingi ng isang sample tas ihihire na ko kagad.. [textspeak!] nya kasi busy siya so inintindi ko na lang.. baka nga busy siya.. wala lang pala siya pang bayad.. haha

naku nung nagmura nga siya bigla nya ko tinggal sa skype nya.. hindi tuloy ako nakasagot.. haha nanghinayang eh noh.. haha napaka kalmado ko kasi nung sinabi ko na no more sample na.. tapos ganon irereply sakin.. kasura.. haha anyway sana wala na siya mabiktima.. ang panget pa babae siya..

ayon, sana wala na ko ma encounter na ganon..

^pangit naman ng client na yun sis. I avoid fixed projects, if meron man, I prefer paid "sample work" to be fair. If you're a writer sis, you can provide a link to your old work/blog as a sample and if they ask for a "new" sample, dapat paid.

yup agree ako kay stylishmomy, kailangan paid sample work - even for just one simple one. pwede naman yun eh. i hire ka lang for that task, pag di nagustuhan, then di ka na bibigyan ng work. at least ganun kasimple.

kasi mang-aabuso ang client kung hinahayaan lang na free yung sample.

saka yun rin, you bet good clients talaga yung mga nagha-hire at nagbabayad agad ng work. big chances na hindi manloloko.

@seTHer, dami kong inactive contracts - inactive na years before, pero di naman na-end sa akin.

About Odesk ending the inactive contract.  Bago daw i-end ng odesk ang inactive, tinatanong muna nila ang client.  Kung ok sa client to end the contract, then odesk ends it.  Pero if clients still want/need you, then odesk will not end the contract.

This is to avoid daw wrong billing to client.  May mga times na nagkakamali ng login sa account sa time tracker ang contractor kaya ibang client ang nabibill.  Sad lang kasi ang Odesk hindi nagtatanong o nagbibigay ng notice sa contractor before ending the contract.

^ganun ba sis? coz I have 2 inactive contracts for almost 3 years na and so far hindi parin ni end ng oDesk or ng client.

Got payment na from my client..talagang inifollow up ko and nagdrama talaga ako sa kanya reminding him un mga sinabi nya nya sakin na extra needs ayun binayadan na ako...


haist..good luck satin mga sis..i t seems like this year is very challenging for us freelancer. Dun sa nabasa kong blog, sabi nya it's going to be survival of the fittest daw for the freelancer this year since lot of people from different nationalities is entering the market. So whoever survive this craze will most likely be the one to stay in this field kaya hwag tayo pabubuwag mga sis!!! Goodluck to all of us

Ang baba ng exchange rate ngayon. Nasa line of 3. Hay... I think it has something to do with Obama's inaguaration. Ironic na I'm here in the Philippines pero mas interested ako sa pagbaba ng piso. Para mas mataas ang $.

ok lang naman na inend yung isa kasi actually 2 ang account nya.
Isa sa mismong company nya yung isa naman para sa kanya.
Kapag mga tanggap siya sa iba sakin pinapagawa.
Pero lately hindi na namin na nagagamit yung isang account na yon.
Hindi ko lang alam kung pwede yung ganon na 2 account.

palagay nyo ano fair rate para sa isang graphic designer?
pansin ko kasi ang bababa na ng rate sa mga artist.
May regular client ako sa UK.. hindi naman araw araw pero
every week may work naman ako galing sa kanya.
Palagay nyo fair na ba yung $6 per hour? pero diba malaki ang pera sa Uk?

its not with Odesk but mga sis....super super happy talaga I just got my local client, its a BPO company in the Philippines....that will be starting out by February....

God works in mysterious way...naka amaze lang...kasi nga hindi ko naman hinanap...bigla na lang dumating...ng walang kahirap hirap... wow..to the max talaga ang feeling ko ngayon.

^ kung withdraw to Philippine bank account using LFT, di pwede. even if you choose to go the Paypal route or Moneybookers route you always have to make sure you are using a Peso bank account.

Maybe Payoneer is the way to go.. dollars yung denomination ng card, but you withdraw through our local ATMs in Pesos. I think when you go to ATMs that dispense US dollars - dollars rin ang makukuha mo doon.

Not sure with Wire Transfer - yun lang ata ang pwede papunta sa dollar account, but the fees for wire transfer aren't that cheap.

mga sis pahelp naman... i haven't withdrawn my odesk balance since march last year, hindi kaya mawala yun? ang baba pa kasi ng dollar to peso kaya hindi ko mawithdraw ng LFT, pwede kya odesk to my bpi dollar account para dollars pa rin makuha sa bpi? magkanu kaya ibabawas kung sakali? thanks!

question veteran ODeskers: nakapagtry na ba kayong magwork that needs a different IP add? Yung IP add ng particular countries? I've tried/still using Hotspot Shield (dito sa thread ko din nakuha) pero US IP lang yun. yung particular task ko kase kay client, forum posting sa iba-iba country. Eh dapat IP din nung country na yun kase minsan pag hindi same IP ng country, natatag na spam. pahelp/pashare naman. thanks a bunch!

have you actually  checked your odesk account if the funds are still there?

^ yun nga sis eh. problem with hotspot, you get US IP lang. eh I'm posting to forums such as Australia, NZ, UK, etc. tried yung proxy servers [textspeak!] IE, doesn't work naman. hindi ako makaconnect sa net.

true that. napapa-isip nga ako ngayon about sa future namin as freelancers. pareho kasi kami ni hubby. while those who have regular jobs, tumataas ang sweldo at position nila, tayo naman medyo na-sstuck or worse, bumaba pa because of a lot of factors (exchange rate, competitions, etc.)

anyway, napansin nyo ba nagbago na ang odesk tool? instead of hours worked, remaining hours na ang dinidisplay.

Paano ba mag-apply sa craigslist using only one email lang?  I am applying jobs to craigslist in all countries using multiple accounts.  Ang gusto ng client, kung puwede isang corporate account na lang para professional daw ang dating.  Problem is only 15 applications lang puwede mag reply.
