Wouldn't you be admitted if you will get the steroid shots sis? Kasi it would be administered a few times in a day. I think I had the shot for 2-3days in the hospital. Only in the 3rd day that they were able to see breathing pattern from him.

^^sis less than 600 pesos ang steroids, but depende sa quantity. yung sa akin kasi 5 vials [textspeak!] ang pinabili. 3 shots in 1 day at 8-hr intervals ang required ni OB. i had mine at 27weeks. apas kasi ako so in danger din of having preterm labor. di na ko na-admit. nagpunta lang kami sa clinic and sa nurse ako ngpa-inject. pinakita ko lang instructions ni OB and nagbayad ng 120 pesos per shot.

I agree! Alternate yung ginawang shot sa left at right shoulder ko. Sometimes ang sakit pa ng shoulder while getting another shot.

I had premature delivery at 30 weeks. My babies are now over a week in the incubator, but so far they're doing good.

^ depende sa condition ng baby yan sis. so iba-iba pa din kahit same age/weeks ng pinanganak. baby ko almost 2 weeks sa incubator. 32 weeks siya noong pinanganak ko. pero ang kasabay namin na same weeks din mas matagal.

I gave birth to a 34-wk premie 5 wks ago. May i ask paano ang feeding development ng babies nyo? From 4th wk nya to now, we're feeding every 2 hrs. Just want to know when your babies got longer periods of sleep between feedings.

It took a while bago nawala ang redness. And maitim sila until 3 months. Depende din how long sila nag phototherapy mas matagal girl ko then my boy so mas maitim siya longer.

I gave birth to my preemies last April 1, almost two weeks na twins ko sa NICU and they still have breathing problems kaya worried pa rin ako. I'm really trying my best to breastfeed them exclusively... 35 weeks sila when I gave birth to them and until now reddish pa rin sila.

Thanks sis design21! My baby is about 5 weeks now and ang itim nya  when i gave birth to her, ang puti2x nya, so parang different baby yung inuwi ko sa bahay..hehe

sis, pati ba genital areas nang baby mo nangitim din? kasi diba naka diaper naman sila while under phototherapy? My baby's genital area is also dark, so I'm not sure if it's meant to be her color talaga or dahil sa phototherapy lang

^ dont worry lalabas dIn totoong color ni baby in time. Mestizo na anak ko ngayun. Kaso early natrigger skin asthma nila i blame it sa phototherapy na yan sa pagka hyper sensitive ng skin nila until now physiogel lang kasundo nila.

Sis hunn wala ba nagsabi sayo na maitim talaga pepe ng newborn premature or not? Magchchange din ng color yan hehe

My son (now 6years of age, came out 33 weeks) and daughter (3months old, came out 31 wks& 6 days)both came out a little too early. Emergency CS ako sa son ko and emergency NSD sa bunso. Amazingly, wala sa kanilang na-incubator. Both underwent photo therapy instead. My son stayed 10 days in the hosp. My daughter, just 6 days.

napapalapit ang mother's day and i'm feeling sentimental  di ko pa rin magawang tingnan photos ni baby nung nasa incubator siya and yung early days niya na ang payat payat. actually kahit ibang payat na babies makakita lang ako online, cryfest na... kelan ba mawawala to, my baby is already 6months old and getting bigger. madami pa rin akong questions... di ako makamove on! pano ba magmove on?

Just gave birth din to a premie last 2may via emergency NSD. Hanggang ngayon e nakaincubate padin si baby.. I just can't help but feel guilty na it was my fault kaya maaga sya lumabas. I got UTI kasi kaya napuncture yung water bag ko causing me to leak. My OB tried to keep the baby sa tummy ko kaya lang after 2days e konti na talaga yung water kaya no choice na.

Sabi naman ng pedia e she's doing well but I really hope na mailabas na sya kahit from the incubator lang.

Mga sis, how do you handle the guilt? I can't help but feel bad about it kasi..

Mine came out in 37 week or less so madilaw siya for months.  Sa awa ng Diyos, he turned out healthy, siguro because of my breastmilk din.

Hindi Ko alam paano mawawala ang guilt sis kasi from the very start i had a difficult pregnancy so it was a relief for me to give birth na at that time. Also, my ob prepared me first trimester palang na there is a high chance that i will give birth prematurely. From 3 months onwards eh hindi naman kasi mukang premature si babies ko nakakalimutan nga ng pedia n premTure sila kasi wala naman sila developmental delays whatever.

If you were the cause why you gave birth prematurely and your baby is suffering eh mahirap nga siguro. Ano ano ba naging complications? Nagoxygen ba sila? Premature babies usually lungs and eyes ang problem. And if 33 weeks pinanganak and below and sa big hospital ka nanganak super dami tests and may retina specialist na magaalaga kay baby. May brain ultrasound din. Maliban sa mandatory hearing test
