we're planning to spend the holy week in Carabao Island. Caticlan manggagaling. any recommended resorts dito? at may island hopping or inland tours din ba?

All set for our Carabao Island adventure this Holy Week.

Day 1: Overnight in Boracay (Isla del Mar)
Day 2: 7am en route to Carabao Island via private boat (Byernes Santo kasi kaya walang byahe ang public boats)
           8:am check in at Republic of Inobahan (beachfront, white sand, fan room)
           Beach bumming
Day 3: Carabao Island tour
Day 4: 6am check out and en route to Caticlan via public boat

just came back from carabao island! indeed, it's boracay's twin sister...sans the crowd, lumot and overpriced accommodation and food. will post photos soon!

Hi sis! Please post din how much yung boat transfer from boracay to carabao island and yung rate sa Republic of Inobahan. We're set to a 5d/4n trip to Boracay sa September pero I'm thinking of going here for a night or two siguro pag naubusan kami ng gagawin sa Boracay. Also, ok bang magsama ng kids here? We'll bring our two year-old and eleven year-old kids kasi. TIA!

hi sis, hindi kasi kami sa republic of inobahan nagstay eh. as for kids, pwede naman kung malaki ang boat na kukunin mo. otherwise, baka matakot sila sa sobrang laki ng mga alon.

ilang hours boat travel from Boracay white beach to Carabao Island? i plan to include this in our trip to Boracay this August.  i'm thinking pa whether day tour or overnight.  wala pa kami flight pabalik ng Manila.  pag Kalibo-Manila ba mas ok or shorter distance to airport coming from Carabao Island?

about an hour sis and travel time from Bulabog beach to Said beach in Carabao Island. Yung iba, from Puka Beach to Lanas beach ang ginagawa, parang less than 30 minutes lang ito kaso hindi fantastic ang Lanas beach. Yung photo na lagi nasa google search na may mga tall coconut trees sa Said beach yun.

depende pala sa season yun kung sa Bulabog or sa White beach kayo fetch ng boat kasi depende sya sa alon. March kami nagpunta last year and sa Bulabog beach yung kalmado ang dagat kaya dun kami sinundo ng boat. Tip sa boat, makisabay sa mga locals ng Carabao Island na ang work ay mag-tour guide/boatman sa island hopping sa Boracay kapag pauwi/papasok na sila. bigger boat na, mas mura pa. 100 lang sinisingil nila usually.

Caticlan pa din ang best flight sis. Kasi kung Kalibo, you'll still have to go through Boracay, or Caticlan (alam ko may public boat dito once a day going to Isla Hambil (local name ng Carabao Island) pero medyo buwis buhay daw kasi mas matagal sa open sea yung make-shift na ferry. Kahit Tablas ang flight mo, mas mahaba at mas complicated pa din ang dadaanan to Carabao island.

we stayed sa homestay ni Ate Luzvie. Si Edison Manuel (09183303718) ang guide dun. Ang famous dun actually is yung Republic of Inobahan na owned by the ex-mayor na nasa same stretch ng bahay ni Ate Luzvie. Pero mas mahal dun, eh kung sum up mo, mas ok yung house ni Ate Luzvie kasi may solar power generator sya, sila ex-mayor wala. saka ang bait pa nung owner. pwede pa makigamit ng kitchen. libre imported na kape pa! haha! foreigner kasi husband ni Ate Luzvie.

Php 500 per night dun, fan room with private cr. bago yung house. may veranda pa that looks out to the beach.

Pupunta kami sa boracay in june and i'm thinking kung pwede kaya mag day trip sa carabao island? Feasible ba yun or kailangan overnight?

kung day trip sis, dapat super early ang alis and then dapat mga max 3pm nakabalik na ng Boracay. dapat chartered boat din. kung day trip lang, sa said beach na kayo dapat pumunta. may mga mag-ooffer kasi sigurado sa inyo ng mas mura pero malamang sa lanas beach kayo dadalhin dahil yun yung mas malapit sa puka beach, pero hindi maganda yung beach na yun. yung white beach talaga sa said beach yun sa other side.

Malakas ang current sa gitna ng Boracay at Carabao Island. Kahit summer. Holy week kami nandun pero nahulog ang puso ko sa alon. iba't ibang direksyon pa yung alon nya kaya mas delikado.

Ah talaga maalon. Malamang sa june mas maalon kasi tag ulan na. Bka hindi na lang ako pumunta mahirap na baka masisi pa ako ng mga kasama ko hehe thanks sis!

kinabahan naman ako dun sa alon sis matetreyes! end august kami e. pero di ba bihira naman na bumagyo ang visayas area pag august kasi dito sa luzon yung maulan that time?

question ulit sis matetreyes, bali yung resort ni ate luzvie, nasa said beach yun? mag overnight na lang siguro kami sa carabao island if the weather permits para di ma-enjoy namin beach dun. chillax lang dun di ba? no activities or whatsoever?

hindi say resort sis, home stay lang say perl as in 2 tumbling nasa said beach na.

nung nagpunta kami hindi bumabagyo pero malakas pa din ang alon, hehe

same hilera lang sola ng inobahan. tatawid ka pa din papunta sa beach kapag sa inobahan ka nagstay

sabi ni bf, mag day tour na lang daw kami to carabao from bora.  e parang sa mga initial research ko, parang super hapon pa lumalayag mga bangka from bora to carabao island.  pano kaya kami makakabalik...

kung commute kayo sis i think impossibleng i-day tour lang pa-carabao island galing boracay. pero pwedeng magrent ng boat papunta doon.

another option, maron public boat from caticlan port to hambil (carabao island) perl super early morning ito.

yung pabalik ang prob. baka pwede kayo magcharter na lang ng boat pabalik galing sa Lanas Beach (tapat ng Puka Beach). Bale spend kayo ng day sa Said Beach (yung best beach sa Hambil) and then rent kayo habal-habal to Lanas. tapos dun kayo rent ng boat to Puka Beach. mas mura kasi ang boat kapag galing ng Lanas Beach.

^thanks for that advise sis, parang mas feasible nga yan. need to further research lang on the schedules ng mga boat to Hambil from Caticlan.  at i-double check ko pa flight namin kung abot...

read your blog na pala sis. bali yung sa inyo, from Bulabog beach nag rent kayo ng private boat di ba going to carabao island at Php 1,000.  balikan na ba yun. sino contact mo dun, yung Ben ba?
