Thai Visa

I searched for a thread about this but I found nothing so I made one na lang.

Who has tried applying for a Thai visa? I'll be staying in Chiang Mai for two months kasi so I'd need a tourist visa (60 days exact ako mag-stay there). I've been advised na pagdating ko dun saka na lang ako magpa-extend but I've read on some sites na hassle magpa-extend there. Mas okay kaya if I get one na prior my departure?

sis i replied dun sa kabilang thread and i was wondering bigla kang nawala. Pm ko sayo yung pinoy travel agency that will help me once i get there. this is legit kasi nagamit na sia ng friend ko when he first came to bangkok.

Mag-eextend ka ng visa with their help, sis? How would that work? Sorry, I'm clueless talaga about this.

I will arrive on the 10th, 'di na ako maglilibot sa Bangkok diretso Chiang Mai na agad. Ikaw sis? And saan sa Thailand punta mo?

my hubby travels to bangkok frequently.  Kapag more than 2 weeks dito ka sa pinas mag-aapply ng visa. Medyo maraming requirements na hinihingi.  His company is paying for an agency for the processing of his papers.

^Strange. My hubby frequents BKK also and stays for more than two weeks at a time and di naman sya kumukuha ng visa. Then susunod ako sa kanya but will only stay for a week or less than 10 days ako. Case to case basis kaya?


Had to edit my post: I searched the internet and just saw that Pinoys are exempted from getting a visa if stays are within 30 days if arriving via air and 15 days if arriving via land. Here's the link.

For pinoys, we can get a 30 day tourist visa stamp upon arrival kung dumating ka via plane pero kung overland, 15 days lang. but if we wish to stay longer, we can either, apply for an extension which additional 7 days ata at may corresponding price.

there is another one they call double entry visa which will allow us to stay another 4 months. pero kelangan nasa labas ka ng thailand pag nag apply ka neto. either you get it here, (notorious daw ang philippines sa hindi pagbigay ng visa na ganito) or while in thailand, before the 30 day visa expires, punta ka ng LAOS (kasi mas madali daw dun) at dun ka apply ng double entry visa.

sabi ng friend ko who lived there for 2 years, notorious daw ang PH for visa denials sa THAILAND.

He suggested, since sa chang mai ka pupunta, mag border run ka sa Burma twice. So first arrival mo is may 30 days ka, before it expires, may visa run ka sa Burma and they will give you 15 days, and then ganun din ang gawin mo ulet bago mag expire yung 15 days. The thing lang is, hindi ka papayagan ng PH immigration ng 2 months ang plane ticket mo na wala kang visa pag alis mo.

Pero nung umalis ako nung November, ni hindi man lang ako kinausap ng IO.

^ Akala ko 'pag dun ako nagpa-extend pwede 30 days extension but I searched on the web and you're right, seven days maximum nga lang for 1900 Baht. @_@

I guess I have no choice but to do a visa run. Sabi mo nga sis mahirap kumuha ng visa dito. I'd just have to cross my fingers na hindi ako kwestyunin ng IO pag-alis ko.

maququestion ka lang sis kapag hiningi nila ang return ticket mo at kapag nakita nila na sobrang tagal ang stay mo (example, jan ang alis mo tapos ang return ticket mo ay May). kasi iisipin nila baket ang tagal mo, maghahanap ka siguro ng trabaho dun and all that jazz. So I suggest, buy a ticket na mura na one or two weeks lang then saka mo na lang ipa rebook pag andun ka na sa thailand.

and also, if you will be staying with a friend or relative, ready mo yung affidavit of support kasi hihingin nila yun otherwise, be ready for your bookings sa hostel or hotels na tutuluyan mo. Immigrations in Bangkok will ask that. Ipapasulat sayo sa embarkation card.

Parang easy nga lang processing ng visa. Ipinasuyo ko lang to someone kasi I'm from the province pa, pinadala ko lang 'yung papers tapos pagbalik sa'kin okay na. It took about a week pero holiday kasi nun so baka kaya medyo na-delay. I paid P2,900 for a non-immigrant visa.
