Hello,

Anyone here went to US on a one way ticket as a tourist? Madami ba questions yun IO? My dilemma is if I buy round trip and not use the return ticket, I won't be able to refund. If I buy separately and change or refund the return I think min charges is at least 200USD. Or any tips? Thanks.

^Sis, alam ko pag separately mo sila binili mas mahal.  Ang pinas to US walang budget airlines kaya laging mas mahal pag one way each lang.  have i rebooked nalang kung hindi mo magagamit or pwede mo ilipat sa ibang passenger.

I know kaya nga i'm looking for way na makatipid kahit papaano. Kasi my cousin from LA is thinking of going to dubai to visit other cousins namin dun so if I'll go LA stay there for 6 weeks and then go dubai, I might as well do a MNL LAX DBX MNL. Para d na ko babalik ng US pa. And I'm with my daughter so fees and charges is x2 agad. I cannot book naman the LA to DBX kasi short notice daw usually ang file for vacation sa work ng cousin ko, maya't maya daw kasi nagiging busy. Eh ako naman gusto ko na mabook sana agad or at least malaman ko how much para d ako ma shock later on. SO was thinking pwede sa US na ko bumili ng ticket pabalik either dubai or mnl if d kami matuloy but baka naman magkaproblem ako papasok ng US without a return ticket.

hello, we are planning to get a us visa we got married last oct pero hindi ko pa napapalitan un passport ko, hindi ko pa din nakuha local marriage cert sa cityhall pumasok na kasi ako ng work after wedding. need ko ba muna palitan ang passport ko under my married name?

^ ako naman baliktad sis. I got my US visa using my maiden name.. renewed my passport still under my maiden name got married last April. Got my marriage cert last october... im flying using my maiden name pa din for both passport and visa. aasikasuhin ko nalang paguwi ko ng pinas.

I think pwede ka makakuha agad ng marriage cert sa local civil registrar... amin kasi we got it 6 months after the wedding kasi NSO na namin kinuha.

jazzlawyer matrabaho ba sis mag palit ng surename sa passport yung mga i.d's mo hindi mo pa din pinapalit? kinakabahan ako sana maapprove kami ni hubby plan kasi sana namin honeymoon ulit ang reason.

I'm sorry hindi pa ako nakabackread fully, pero, puwede ba mag apply ng tourist visa na hindi mag aapply yung asawa? Na ako lang ang mag aapply? kasi ayaw niya wala daw siya gagawin...

Ako sis, ako lang ang nag apply. Naging ready lang ako kung sakaling tanungin bakit hindi magaapply ang asawa ko

Also, me mga relatives ako sa US (I think lahat ng pilipino me relative talaga sa US, distant or close) pero hindi kami close, so pag tinanong ako ok lang ba na sabihin ko na meron pero hindi close?

 di pa ako nagpapalit sis ng kahit ano. pag uwi ko next yr from US saka ko sya gagawin. ill start with passport and drivers license. i think madali lang like regular renewal process. basta dala mo lang yung nso contract

You need to declare it diba sa D160 form pa lang. kung may relatives o wala.
So incase ask ka sa interview mo mismo, straight na YES or NO lang ang sagot. no need to elaborate kung close or not. kapag lang nagtanong further yung consul tsaka ka lang mag explain.

- 27, single
- working as a technical writer for a multinational bank for 2.5 years, past job 3.5 years in an IT firm
- traveled to 11 Asian countries
- earns above average salary, has 1xx,xxx in savings/travel fund
- owns a house but mortgaged to a bank
- no immediate family in the US

mga sis, mahirap ba mag pa renew ng visa? Nag expire kasi sakin 2 years ago. di ko pa na renew.

Shouldn't be. Lalo na if you're renewing a previous multiple entry visa, did not over stay, and made short visits lang talaga, for sure mabibigyan ka.

The embassy tends to be harder on single applicants. I think you have a fair chance this time around, though. You've traveled around Asia, have ample savings, and still have work and money commitments (house mortgage) back in the Philippines. As long as you can show them that you're not a potential TNT, you'll be fine.
