Sis,  where I am coming from is based on your previous posts kasi, you are telling the consul that:

1.  You don't have work.
2.  Nobody will sponsor your spendings.

In this case, the first instinct of the consul will be you'll not be going back to manila because you cannot prove any ways of sustenance for your trip.  Even in the natural setting, I don't see how you can possibly go on tour in, let's say, boracay if you don't have above.  Of course unless you provide your savings account with enough funds for the trip. 

Unfortunately, nadadamay tayo sa mga maraming nag TNT sa US kaya ganito kahigpit. 

Pero honestly, I got my visa here in SG and kahit mga singaporean students who are applying for student visa, tinatarayan din ng consul like "You have to prove to me why I should give you visa".

The point, i guess, of why we suggesting in being honest during interviews is that consul can smell any lies.  They are smart enough to pinpoint and confuse you with questions to reveal your true agenda on the "US tour". 

Being honest during the interview will make you provide the right answers that the consul wants to hear before they give you a visa.  Hindi ka malilito sa pagsagot sa consul if you will be true with your answers.

But let me ask sis based on what you mentioned above,

The post I did was not only for you but its a general post for everyone.  Kaya may mga statements doon na hindi talaga para sa previous post mo. I am just sharing my views and tips based on my personal experience getting my US visa.

Btw, this one is intended for you.  Post grad degree does not guarantee you a visa unless you state your source of income.  In your case, since you specified that you have freelance work then you have to state that in your application form so that the consul will assume that you have funds to cover for the whole trip.  This being said, being honest in your interview is still our key tip.

Hello Geisha! I know soneone whose profile is just like yours. Housewife, didn't experience any kind of office work. Pati freelance, hindi din. Forever supported by the rich "fambam". She got 10 years din. It really boils down to the question if she's going back or not. For her, she was leaving the kids behind kasi only taking the youngest with her as the older kids have school pa that time. For her, she stated that the rich kapamilya incorporated will support the trip. Eh yun ang totoo eh. It doesn't matter where the money will come from. As long as you have the money to spend, spend, spend, kahit kay janet napoles pa galing yung pera, income pa din ng US yan. Lol! (Sorry about the napoles joke. ) Anyway, yes please try applying. You'll never know. But make sure you prove you have strong ties. Para sayo, the best thing you can depend on is family ties. Goodluck!

Also, someone is asking about going to Hawaii and there's an annotation of some sort and asking if pwede magpunta sa seattle afterwards. Here's a situation. My cousin took NPTE (exam for physical therapist) in hawaii. There was also an annotation saying "will take exam in hawaii. One week". So cousin just went on ahead with the trip. Eh exam naman talaga ang plano nya. When she got to the point if entry, and the officer finished talking to her na, to the point na sinenyasan na yung kasunod nya, humirit pa si pinsan. " Can I go to new york after my exam?" Which then the officer said YES. ayun, ora orada, tinawagan mga pinsan sa new york, talagang after ng exam, fly to new york sya. Ang bitbit nya, hawaii temperament clothes. Alam ng mga pinsan na walang jacket ang lokaloka. Paglabas ng JFK, makapal na coat ang sumalubong sa kanya at winter sa new york nun. Haha! So yes, pwede. But that was 4 years ago. Do ask around. Baka iba na ngayon.

would presume you'll find someone to marry there.

Oh well geishahut you're the only one who knows why you'll come to the Philippines despite not having a stable
job. Just show and prove that to the consul.

Kapag ba sinabi mo na your family will support or finance your trip, do they need documents, bank statements pa from the family na magsusuport ng tour mo?

^"it depends on the consul. Most of the time, no documents will be asked na. Their application form is prety comprehensive na din kasi. Tinatanong names ng immediate relatives in the US, sino gagastos, salary/income, etc..

I believe I posted this long ago, but I’ll repeat for the guidance of those who wish to apply for a US Visa.

I have three close friends/relatives who were denied Visas recently.  Here are their profiles:

The first is a male, my HS barkada (so same age kami).    He earns substantially more than I do.  He has been in his present job for more than 5 years.  Unfortunately, he had no more immediate family in the Philippines (his parents and two siblings are immigrants to Australia).  He was denied a Visa.  He had a previous visa which expired, but that visa was obtained through his current employer because he had to attend a seminar/junket in the US for work.

Second is a female cousin.  Again, she previously had a visa, which was obtained when she was still a minor.  When it expired, she applied again.  At the time of application, she was only a year into her new job (recent college graduate).   Her family is rich, and the mom goes to the US pa nga at least once every year.  She was also denied a Visa.

Last is the sister of one of my good friends.  Same as my female cousin above, she’s also a recent graduate and just a year into her new job.  She also had a visa before, granted when she was still a minor.  She was denied a Visa.  Ang masakit, she applied with her two other siblings including my friend (both her siblings older than her), the two siblings were granted visas pero siya hindi.  Ouch.  BTW, this girl is from a rich family ha, they have a very prominent business.

All of these examples I gave are single individuals pala, walang married.

Moral of the stories:
1-   Hindi automatic na mabibigyan ng Visa just because may Visa na dati (especially when prior visa was obtained not on own merit)
2-   Hindi porke mayaman ang pamilya mo, mabibigyan ka na ng Visa.
3-   Consuls are somewhat biased against single people (pero hindi naman sa lahat). Worse kung hindi stable ang job mo.

Eto mas masaklap, my friend who has a valid 10-year multiple visa, na-airport to airport recently. Ouch! She doesn't want to give me details as to why pero kasi she went there alone

^^I travelled in US alone on my third trip, ok naman.  The immigration officer gave me 6 months.  This was on LAX.  Siguro pag first time na dating sa US, single and alone ang medyo kahinala.  Or baka that time is may terrorist attack, di kaya?

yup hinarang ng immigration officer. e kasi alam ko mag-thanap rabaho si friend sa US, baka nagka buhol-buhol sagot kaya nalaman agad yung intentions nya?

2nd time nya this year. the first one ok naman she stayed there for a month then came back. after 2 months balik ulit and doon na sya naharang ng IO. Methinks, kasi nga she has this plan talaga to look for a job there.
Kitam? kahit may visa na kung kahit sa IO ng US e magsinungaling, di pa rin uubra hehe

^Yikes! yun lang, maghihinala ang IO kasi kung may job sha na naiwan sa pinas, di sya babalik sa US after two months.  Baka nga sis.

The bad thing about it, malamang cancelled na 10-year multiple tourist visa nya because of what happened. It would be reaaalllyyy difficult for her to acquire another US visa

Red flag nga siguro yung 2 months lang pagitan, tapos di nya majustify yung purpose.. o di kaya baka naging inconsistent mga sagot nya kaya nahuli yung real purpose ng trip nya..

And that is just an example why hinihigpitan ng US embassy ang pag-approve ng visa for some Filipinos.. hay...

Definitely pays to be honest in your intentions kasi these consuls and IOs are trained to spot inconsistencies in your answers or filter out would be TNTs.

I just arrived here in San Francisco and all the IO asked me is how long I was staying this time. Tapos sabay tatak with matching "have a great stay!"

Wow! kawawa naman yong friend mo.. share ko lang din our travel agent advised  us na its better na atleast 6 months daw
pag -itan before coming back to US.

Well its her fault din naman. Kaya nahihirapan karamihan kumuha ng visa because of these cases =/
