Are you a Happy-Ever-After kind of reader?

just curious kung maraming katulad ko. i normally stick with reading fanfiction/fictionpress, harlequin presents and erotic stories (like ellora's cave) kasi they are 99.9% of the time HEA kind of books.

if ever meron mga recommended readings, i look for reviews and find out first if it's a HEA; if not, i'm not going to read it kahit pa gaano kaganda ang pagkakasulat. love triangle is a no-no for me (unless it's a threesome LOL!)

any books you can recommend?

i never read a HEA book, normally I end up broken hearted after it, yung malungkot yung bat ganun yung mga ganung tipo ... never I was happy when I ended the book

Ako okay lang sakin kahit tragic ang ending basta marami ako natutunan... Nakaka-disappoint man dahil sa dami mong nabasa, yun pala ang kahihinatnan,, oh well, parang real life lang... You don't always have happy endings...

Yes, I love happy-ever-after stories because it's my form of escapism. They're my go-to reads when I'm stressed.

No, I do not go for simple HEnding Stories.  I go for books that delve into lives, ordinary human beings' nitty gritty living.  So, endings tend to be "gray"/realistic endings/endings of compromises.

I can't lose myself in kilig kilig stories nor soft-porn  stories -- no judgment.  I lose myself in real-life or based-on-real-life tensions of living/staying alive.  (I don't judge others' choices though -- who am I to know better? Lolz -- I never read any of those vampire best sellers nor those Shades of Gray whatever).

I love Happy Endings, and like gwacie parang way din yun to escape reality, mabawasan man lang yung stress..

I didn't think I was, but after checking the books that I've read, I saw a pattern. I love happy endings. It may not be a happily-ever-after but I liked books better when there is a happy ending to it.   

Then I remember how pissed I was on how Breaking Dawn ended.  Feeling ko sobrang pinilit na happy ending lahat, like how convenient was it that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee? I realized that I liked a happy ending when the story calls for it. But if the happy ending was forced on any levels, I'd be pissed.

actually depends upon the story. okay lang kung happy ending okay alng din kung hindi, dun ako kung ano swak sa story. also depends sa mood ko, kaso minsan for me a happy ending doesn't really ends, lalo alng umiikot ang imagination ko, while tragic or sad endings is really a period to me

For me, its ok if its not so happy ending.. Mas natatandaan ko nga if its a sad ending..

if i'm reading fiction, then heck yeah, i want my protagonist -- who i've been rooting for since page one -- to win his or her battle. it may not be the fairy tale kind of happy ending, but as long as there's a hint of a positive message that will sort of tickle my insides at the end of the book (even if the conclusion needed an extra dose of prozac) , then i'm good.

P.S. -- now reading Kafka on the Shore, another Murakami book, nitigil ko ang The Oppurtunist nung nabasa ko na ang lalaki ay gwapo na nag karoon ng temporary amnesia, i dropped it... haha...

me too, gusto ko ng happy-ever-after... nakaka-inlove kasi, hehe
masakit nga sa dibdib kapag hindi sila nagkatuluyan, lalo na nung nabasa ko yung The Opportunist, kahit may book2 na, na parang ayokong basahin, hehe
ang sarap kasing umiyak, pero may sabay kilig pa din, pag tragic, ang hirap makamove on, hehe, nadadala ko pa yung lungkot (OA lang, hehe)

I'm an idealist. I'm definitely into HEA stories regardless if romance, adventure, or whatever theme the book may have. Usually a sad ending ruins a story for me, no matter how fit such and ending may be.

No. If the HEA ending doesn't make sense, I feel cheated.

If you've heard of The French Lieutenant's Wife, there are two endings of the story: one happy, one sad. Decide which one you like.  Bur I think the point there is, even if the happy ending is more emotionally satisfying, it didn't make any sense.
