My fiance and I were discussing this just the other day, how will we divide our time bet. each other’s families during Christmas? And even New Year? Both our families are based here. Kayo girls, what’s your set up between your husband’s family and yours? Sa 24 kay husband, sa 25 sa inyo? Or vice versa? Or morning of 25, kay hubby’s side, and afternoon sa inyo? Share naman. Thanks!

My family is in the province. This year, sa sister ko kami on Dec 24. Then, Dec 25 balik kami sa kanila to open gifts. New year sa house kami.

There was a time also na sabay kami nakapag leave nung Holidays. So, sa parents niya kami on Christmas, then sa parents ko kami sa new year.

CHRISTMAS EVE - our ga-barangay family (siblings and families) all go to the midngiht mass at Santuario de San Jose.  Then, proceed to our  house (since my father died, it has been our  house), since it is the biggest place and nearest the church too.  NOCHE BUENA to sawa/4AM.

CHRISTMAS DAY - LUNCH at my parents-in-law's place

NEW YEAR'S EVE -- hubby and I stay home, unless we are abroad.
We have an OPEN HOUSE starting at 9PM for close friends and relatives/families who may want to drop by.  By close at 3PM.

NEW YEAR's DAY - LUNCH at my parents'-in-law's house.

We are spending the week of christmas with his mother's family. and then the week of new year, with my family. I feel bad though because his parent's are divorced and we can't spend another holiday with his dad's family. Kulang ang holiday eh.

This year will celebrate Christmas sa family side ko sa province then New year kay husband naman.

Christmas and Christmas eve- sa family nya (father's side) at Camarin, Caloocan (his childhood home). Mas malaki kasi sila and maraming kids, so mas masaya ang party, games at exchange gifts. magastos nga lang :)

New Year's- sa paternal uncle ko at Taytay. dun kami nagpupunta ng mom and dad ko every year kasi 3 lang kami, so nakagawian na. Lunch lang naman dun.

New Year's eve- sa UP Diliman, kung san nakatira yung Prof na maternal uncle ni hubby. may salu-salo for their clan dun. lunch din

12 midnight ng New Year- sa bahay namin :D

My side of the family celebrates during Christmas EVE, so we stay with them for dinner and gift-giving at 12 midnight.  Good thing my husband's family celebrates Christmas DAY, so we have dinner with them and another gift giving session on the 25th.

And thankfully- again!- my husband's family doesn't even celebrate either New Year's eve or day, so it's off to my side again.

christmas eve - we stay home during the morning and then church in the afternoon. this year, i think my husband's aunt is holding dinner (7PM) and exchange gifts for the kids so we'll go there. noche buena at my family's house.

christmas day - my parents go to my tita naman so baka we'll join them (that's what we were doing before we had a baby). afternoon, we might drop by my husband's parents' house.

new year's eve - spent at home with my family

new year's day - dumadaaan lang sa house ng hubby ko for lunch. after that, nagma-mall na kami.

24th we'll go to my family and celebrate christmas eve with them, ako mag sleep over sa house namin and spend the 25th with my family. si hubby will go home naman to his parents para samahan mom niya bisitahin his lola (hubby is chinese kasi kaya his family dont celebrate christmas, or should i say no big deal sa kanila yung celebration pag christmas)

31st baka i'll visit my family until dinner then uwi kami ni hubby and celebrate new year's eve with his side naman :)

If di kami uuwi ng province (if yung mom ko pupunta dito sa manila):
24th - dinner until madaling araw or lunch time sa side ko (usually sa house ng kuya ko)
25th - dinner with side ni husband
31st - lunch with my side of the family
31st - dinner with husband's family
31st midnight - tradition namin to welcome the new year in our own home so uwi kami agad after dinner
jan1 - if lunch with my side, dinner sa in-laws; and vice versa

If uuwi kami province (side ko), usually andun kami from Dec23-29/30. Pagbalik ng Manila, 31st dinner with family ni husband, midnight sa own home namin, jan1 lunch/dinner with side ni husband.

Works for us since di naman ganun ka big deal ang Christmas sa side ni husband. For new year naman, nasi-split pa din namin time sa two sides since may CNY pa naman, which is a bigger deal for my in-laws. :)

Yearly nung bf/gf plang kami ng husband ko lagi sya nauwi ng province para dun mag christmas at new year kasama ng parents nya. Nakapunta lang ako sa kanila last december pero after na ng christmas to celebrate new year naman with his family. Ikinasal kami last February this year lang, so first christmas namin to as married couple. So we planned na mag stay lang kami sa house namin for christmas and new year. Hinde matanggap ng mother ni hubby kasi two lang sila na magkapatid, his brother is working abroad (married narin) at summer pa ang uwi. Gusto namin na this christmas and new year macelebrate namin sa house namin together since first nga namin ito.

it's fine with my inlaws if we don't spend christmas or new year's eve with them as long as we give them money, hehe ;D
