First Haircut

Tanong ko lang about first haircut:

1. Kelan naghaircut ang baby nyo? tama ba na dapat hintayin ang one year? or pwede na even before para tumubo ang buhok lalo?
2. Meron bang ritual or pamahiin kayong sinunod para sa first haircut?

My 9 month old baby had her first official haircut yesterday. We wanted to wait til she was one but her bangs were getting in her eyes na (actually reaching down to her nose already) and she has a habit of pulling out the clips we use to tie back her bangs. So we really had no choice but to have her bangs trimmed. We didn't touch the rest of her hair though, which reaches past her shoulders na.

No ritual per se, though I think there's another thread here that talks about pamahiin. I read that the first one to cut baby's hair should be smart so baby will be smart too. I cut a small lock of my baby's hair secretly when she was about 4 months old hehehhee. I've also read that some people put the first cut lock of hair in a book (?). Didn't do that na.

I brought her to Cuts for Tots for her bangs trimming.

I cut my baby's bangs after she turned one. Sabi kasi ng mom ko kelangan daw one year and matalino yung first na magcut ng hair. So i did it. Hehe. Pero after a few days we have her official haircut at cuts for tots, trinoma.

We waited for one year (actually after his birthday kasi ang ganda pa ng hair niya nakakapanghinayang i-cut! syempre for birthday photos lol). Sa Cuts 4 Tots SM Megamall kami nagpagupit. They are very nice and prepared maghandle ng kids. The package included his first haircut certificate which includes a framed photo niya na before and after. And also, andun sa frame na yun yung unang strands na ginupit from him. Memorable syempre ang firsts. I highly recommend them talaga

I don't think relative naman yung dapat matalino ang first na maggugupit. It's just one of those old superstitions.

My daughter had her first haircut a few weeks after her 1st birthday sa Kiddie Salon at Eastwood. Manipis kase hair ng anak ko and ang bagal mag-grow on her first year. After that mabilis na mag-grow her hair, especially her bangs. Now, we have her bangs trimmed every month.

^^i don't believe those superstitions... But anyway, ako gumugupit sa buhok ng mga anak ko...straight na gupit lang naman. dati pati yung bangs nila but now i let it grow na lang para one-length less maintenance hehe

She's 1 when I cut her bangs kasi lagpas na sa mata then pinantay ko yung sides, voila instant Dora Buti nagtabi rin ako ng hair, thanks to the idea of framing it with her photo, gawin ko rin sya

For the 1st haircut.. hmm I think sa 2y/o na lang sya mapapagupitan..
11 months na sya pero yung hair nya, parang pang newborn.. as in newborn parin talaga 

Anyway, mas mabilis bang humaba and kumapal pag ginupitan?
eh kung kalbuhin kaya? hehe
